Well, that 'chip just got vacated. Seems like the lack of cooperation was a main reason. I wouldnt mind if this got the HC canned so they would go back to a traditional offense making them less of an upset threat.

You would really think someone would have investigated this further.

""You see all these other teams doing workouts, and we were one of the few teams that wasn't doing anything. Somebody had to get the ball rolling," Ponder said. "I thought as a quarterback, it was up to me to do it. A lot of the veteran guys I reached out to were all gung-ho and excited about it. Everyone was good to me."

This kid is so awesome.

Tate Forcier has signed on. Shoot, here I was thinking we were back in the drivers seat, but what are we going to do against this guy??

"There is so much positive energy around this program and I really want to be apart of it. I love these coaches an feel like they are the right guys for me. I had a great visit and I really want to be a part of the rebirth at Miami."

I want everyone to read this, but dont believe it merits FanPost status. That said, I think this is a huge story. The successor to the one and only Warren Buffett is a Seminole, not just in fandom, but in education. He wont be making millions a year in salary (the Buffett model at Berkshire Hathaway), but if he invests in himself, he could be a very rich man. If he is anywhere near as good as the Oracle of Omaha, it could be a very big deal for the future of FSU, academically, as well as athletically.

I saw this and immediately thought of the article Bud wrote today (Monday). If we want to win in the trenches, we need to get bigger. It should come as no surprise that the teams at the top have been considered in the upper echelon. Surprisingly enough (not really), these teams also happen to be teams that make disgusting amounts of money, which falls very much in line with an article posted by RnN and the general consensus among the editors (at least thats what Ive understood) when discussing what it takes to be a perennial championship contender.

Tomahawk Nation When did you become a Nole fan?

Seeing as how we are stealing regularly from Georgia Techs Rumble Seat, I thought we could take another idea I thought was a good one. As mentioned over yonder, its a dead period. Seeing as how when we are riled up, we can put hundreds of posts in a topic, I know time of year is irrelevant as far as the readership here goes. What, the point you ask? Well, I am curious when we all became fans of the greatest team in sports.

I am from Miami, but I transferred to FSU because I wanted the college experience. I was a Cane fan, and thought I would go to FSU games and root against them. When I first started going, I would mockingly ask how to do such an intricate chop. Along the way though, something happened. I got sucked into the atmosphere. Seeing Garnet and Gold everywhere became exciting. The tailgates on game day, banging on the drum in the Union before, and the celebrations at The Winkle after; well it was just awesome. Not to mention, the friendliness of the town called Tallahassee. The atmosphere was what I had always wanted to experience. I dont know when it happened exactly, but at some point, I started hating that Miami was doing something. I think a big part of that was being a Miami fan that could not find any other fans that werent on a band wagon. Seriously, ask a UM fan who Kenny Kelly is, 80% have no idea, forget Clement, Covington, or any other guy that played on that team when Butch was rebuilding. There was also the great victories. I got to see us beat Florida with Rix, I went to the first ACC championship. I drove to Nashville and watched our band obliterate Kentuckys. There was a game too? I missed it :/

Again, Im not sure when it happened, but I remember the whole aura of FSU. I got sucked into the culture. Unfortunately I went when Jeff was the OC and Bobby was asleep at the wheel, but I still had a ridiculous amount of amazing memories. I like to think that becoming a fan during those times (read: never really in conention for the nat'l championship and abandoning UM when they had Dorsey because I realized I wasnt a hurricane) will make me appreciate the success all the more when we return the promised land. Thinking about it now though, I am hungry for success. I was at the Penn State game, my last home game was Zook being carried off of Bowden field.

Editors, hopefully this is okay for a fanpost. If not, let me know, and I will re-post as a fanshot, but I really am curious since the membership has grown exponentially and its not all current students. I have noticed we have quite a bit of diversity and perspectives.

Alabama raised the pay for 5 assts, their defensive coordinator (and top of our wish list before we became enamored with Stoops) Kirby Smart already received a bump to 750 k a year.

I dont have a link handy, but if the editors want, they can add the link to the article that shows the correlation to stars and success. I understand that it feels like common sense to us, but I also distinctly remember there being people who thought the whole system was overrated. Anyway, its an interesting article, with my only quibble being that there are no Noles mentioned.

Lets see what sort of punishment they have in store for a team that doesnt go by the initials FSU.

On the other side of this though, who reported them? Makes me think Michigan is done as a powerhouse. I doubt they are the only team to bend if not outright break that rule. Ive seen it written here before, there are certain things that need to be done for a program to be successful.

This is a lot of optimism. I enjoyed it bc it was a nice way to focus on the positive even though they didnt discuss other integral factors for continued growth

Tomahawk Nation The leadership at Florida State

It has been discussed many times before, but I think there are many changes in store that will benefit the program. Andy Staples wrote a pretty scathing report on the cowardice of TK and Spetman.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/andy_staples/12/01/bowden-retires/index.html?eref=sihp

Does anyone else wonder how long Spetman is going to be around? With so many factors that Bud and others have discussed that are crucial to "process vs results" I worry that Jimbo will have trouble accomplishing what so many of us believe he is capable of. Staples straight called Spetman out as having no power. He referenced what we were talking about in terms of the absurdity of having Ponder and Watson being the face of the university.

These are grown ass men who didnt have the temerity to be held accountable for their decisions. I have faced more criticism on my facebook page for standing up and saying, "yes, I agree that it was time to go."

This is probably more me venting, as well as linking a solidly written article. The point is though, I want Jimbo to succeed, and I have learned on this site that there is a lot more to winning than just being FSU. The organization needs competence and synergy at all levels. TK (thankfully he is stepping down, but lets get this together already and get someone who will help the UNIVERSITY) and Spetman (Seriously...a puppet) both need to go.
