Colin Blake is an excellent defensive back recruit out of San Antonio. He is considering FSU, Oklahoma and TCU.
Senior Highlights of Florida State Running Back Delmarick "Mario" Pender. Pender officially enrolled at FSU yesterday. Here is a link to the most detailed scouting report on the internet on Delmarick Pender. Link
The Under Armour Combine is one of the best combines to date, and will feature over 150 of the top 2013 players in the country including FSU commits, Sojourn Shelton and Maquedius Bain.
Live online stream of the 8A title game, Miramar vs Tampa Plant. Miramar has top FSU CB target Tracy Howard, who has 9 picks on the year. Another top FSU target to watch is 2013 LB Jermaine Grace, who recently named FSU in his top two schools. Grace is considered a top 25 prospect in Florida for 2013. On the year Grace accounted 146 tackles and 2 forced fumbles There are double digit D-1 players who will be competing in this game.
Texas A&M commit CB Colin Blake is opening up his recruitment. Will visit #FSU in January. Blake is being recruited by FSU's D.J. Eliot.— Michael Mignone (@DFWAthletes) December 12, 2011
Colin Blake, a cornerback from Brandeis High School in San Antonio, Texas will visit Florida State in January(Jan 13 most likely). Florida State offered Blake earlier in the recruiting process, and he was hoping to take an official visit to Florida State back in August(article here). Florida State Defensive End Coach D.J. Eliot is his main recruiter. Colin Blake is a tall(6'2) rangy(legit sub 4.5 40) cornerback that would fit perfectly in Mark Stoops system. This is only his second year playing High School football. Senior Highlights of Blake here
I will have a breakdown of the 2012/2013 FSU targets to watch for in each game. 7 p.m. Class 1A — Chipley vs. Jefferson County (Monticello) These teams play in lowest classification in Florida. Not that much talent in this game. Chipley- The man to watch for Chipley HS is OT Cole Western, who is a little bit of a sleeper for the 2013 class. He has pretty good size at 6'4 270lbs. He is a D-1 player in my mind. Junior Highlights here Jefferson County- From what I have seen Jefferson County has no D-1 players for the 2013 class. Saturday, Dec. 10: 1 p.m. Class 3A — American Heritage (Delray Beach) vs. Madison County (Madison) American Heritage- FSU targets: #4 2013 RB Greg Bryant- The top 2013 RB in Florida, Greg Bryant will be playing in this game. Bryant already claims offers from top schools like Alabama, LSU, FSU, and Oklahoma. FSU visited him last week. Great size, feet, power, agility and good not great speed is what Bryant offers at RB. He is a coaches son who knows the game very well. Bryant has very impressive stats on the year. He's rushed for 1,933 yards (averaging 11.6 yards per carry) and 22 touchdown Junior Highlights of Greg Bryant: Here #55 2013 OT Roderick Johnson- Sleeper alert. While Johnson is not rated by any services, this is a guy who has the potential to be a top 30 player in Florida this time next year. He is 6'4 280lbs and has great feet for the tackle position. Johnson also claims a 4.87 40 while this probably isn't accurate, it's easy to see he is a great athlete for a big man. A BCS recruit who will see a lot of offers come his way this spring. Junior Highlights of Johnson: Here Not FSU targets, but talented players: #80 2013 TE Tyler Provo- Already has a BCS offer from Syracuse. A little undersized at 6-2 220lbs. BCS type player Highlights of Provo: Here #8 2012 WR Cameron Posey- Has a couple BCS offer(Illinois, Purdue). Good sized WR that doesn't have great speed. 2013 ATH Marcus Davis- No offers yet. Good athlete, but is undersized. Player to watch going forward. 2014 WR Darrell Langham - Good sized WR at 6'3 185lbs who has some potential. Player to watch being only a Sophomore Madison County 2013 ATH Tommie Young- Good sized RB at 6'1 210lbs that could project at another position(FB/LB) at the next level. I have only seen a little of Young play this year so I'm interested to watch a full game. Highlights of Young: here 2014 RB Deonshay Wells- Probably the best prospect on their team from what I have seen. While undersized he is still only a Sophomore. Probably a BCS type player once he adds more size. Plays for same HS as FSU RB Chris Thompson Highlights of Wells here 7 p.m. Class 4A — Booker T. Washington (Miami) vs. Bolles (Jacksonville) Booker T. Washington FSU targets #6 2013 LB Matthew Thomas - A top 20 player in Florida for 2013. This is a 6'3 210lb prospect who can run(sub 4.6 40). Athletically he reminds me of FSU LB commit Markuss Eligwe. Big time prospect who has multiple BCS offers already. On the year Thomas has 98 tackles with 13 sacks. Highlights of Thomas here More highlights of Thomas here #72 2013 OT Denver Kirkland- Another top 30 prospect in Florida for 2013. Has multiple BCS offers. Athletic OT prospect with good feet. Kirkland has been a part of the offensive line since his freshman year and has good size Sophomore Highlight of Kirkland: Here Other top players #5 2014 ATH Treon Harris- Son of coach Tim "Ice" Harris(UM grad). Sophomore who will need to add more weight to be a BCS recruit. Harris on the year rushed for 868 yard with 18 TD's, while adding 1,400 yard and 14 TD"s passing. #1 2014 WR Lamar Parker- This undersized Sophomore WR has been getting it done since his freshman year. Very shifty, with good speed. If he can gain some height/weight has a good chance to be a BCS recruit by his senior year. Stats on the year 30 catches for 467 yards and 5 TD's. Freshman Highlights: Here #30 2013 S Michael Johnson- A little undersized but shows good hips/speed on film. This game will be a good test to see if he is a D-1 player or BCS. Has 4 interceptions on the year #2 2013 CB Darren Parker- Parker didn't progress as much this year as I would have hoped hope for. 5'10 CB with good hips. Has some potential. Sophomore highlight here Booker T has a great 2014 class to watch out for in this game. Bolles 2014 ATH Dexter Carter, Jr- Yes, the son of FSU RB Dexter Carter. He has very good speed for only being a Sophomore. Needs to adds some size, but from a athletic standpoint has the potential to be a BCS recruit. 2012 OT John Theus- UGA commit and top 2 player in Florida for 2012. Not much needs to be said about this great player. 2012 OT Jon Heck- UNC commit. Big fan of this massive OT prospect.
After visiting with Offensive Coordinator James Coley today, Courtney Gardner has moved his Florida State OV for January 13. He will now visit Pittsburgh on December16th. Gardner will be in Arkansas this Friday. Gardner said the visit with Coach Coley went great and he was a real straight shooter. Coley told him playing time is there, but would have to be earned. Gardner said he had a good in home visit from Pittsburgh yesterday.
Courtney Gardner is the top junior college receiver in the country. Gardner is considering Arkansas, Florida State and LSU
Video interview with Miramar High School 2013 4* LB Jermaine Grace. Grace talks about going to the same college as teammate, CB Tracy Howard. He names his top 2 schools as Florida and Florida State. Grace camped at Florida State during the summer. Special thanks to GatorCountry.com for the video.
I was able to catch up with Mo's older brother today Allieu Seisay, who helps handle his recruitment. Below you will find a couple of questions I asked Mo and his reaction. What was your reaction to receiving an offer from FSU Coach Mark Stoops? It was a surprise and honor to have an FSU offer, and what makes it even more humbling was Coach Stoops who presented me with this offer. It makes me feel good to know that all the work I've put in is paying off. I want all the high school or Juco athletes to know that if you keep grinding and working anything could happen just believe. I'm an example of hard work and belief a little sprinkle of talent also helps lol. Do you have any plans to visit(official visit) FSU after this offer? As far as visiting, that's still in the process. I will graduate from Eastern in a few weeks so my top priority is finishing up strong. I look at it as its less than 2min left in the 4th qrt for me here at Eastern, it's time for me to take this next play to the house (Seminole chop). I will say its a high possibility a FSU visit will happen Do you have a favorite school at the moment, or a top list of schools? I can't say I have a favorite, I believe my scenario is a little different. My older brother and I talk every night about every school that has made an offer. We are doing our due diligence. We have to be precise with our research into every school. At the end of the day who ever I decide on, will have my 100% loyalty. I will work even harder for that institution for giving me an opportunity to play a sport I love and get a free education. Do you have a date set yet to make a decision on your college choice? I don't have a specific date for a decision, but I can say it will be after my graduation and I want to be at home in VA with my family by my side. Once again I would like to thank FSU and Coach Stoops for offering me a free education and a chance to continue to do what I do best which is handcuff receivers every Saturday. Special thanks to Mo and his older brother Allieu Seisay. Update: Mo Seisay will visit FSU with teammate Travell Dixon on December 9th.
Florida State has offered Juco CB Mohammed "Mo" Seisay out of Eastern Arizona J.C. Seisay is a teammate of CB Travell Dixon, who FSU offered earlier this year. Before coming to Eastern Arizona, Seisay was a star at Memphis earning C-USA All Freshman Team honors and making Phil Steele's Freshman All American Team in 2010. Some of Seisay offers include Ohio State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, California and Arkansas, with most of these offers came within the last month. He is scheduled to graduate in December and will have 2 years of eligibility remaining. I have emailed Mohammed Seisay and I'm waiting to confirm if he will be Official Visiting with Travell Dixon together in December. Seisay has taken two official visits so far in Indiana and Nebraska. I mentioned Seisay as a prospect to watch earlier this year in our Recruiting Discussion back in August link With Mike Harris leaving, Florida State is looking for more experienced depth in the secondary which Seisay brings along with 6'2 size and the hips to stay at CB. He also has the size to be used at Safety. Seisay response to FSU offer: Coach Stoops came by from FSU.. man! thank you for the offer "with my Seminole chop"
Just learned that UF has got rid of their recruiting coordinator Mark Pantoni. He was definatley one of the best I dealt with.Big loss for UF— John Theus (@jtheus71) November 28, 2011
Florida Director of Football Operations has left the University of Florida and it's a loss that is already hitting recruits across the nation. From top Florida Offensive Tackle John Theus to top North Carolina running back Keith Marshall expressing the loss of this great recruiter. The majority of Florida's success in recruiting has come from Pantoni's work behind the scenes, while other coaches take credit. He is a major reason for the success of Florida summer camp, Friday Night Lights.Pantoni was able to get recruits from across the nation to attend the camp on there own dime. He was the man behind the curtain and his impact will be felt in Florida's recruiting. RB Keith Marshall:Keith Marshall RT @jtheus71: Just learned that UF has got rid of their recruiting coordinator Mark Pantoni. He was definatley one of the best I dealt with. OT John Theus: John Theus And a shoutout to @markpantoni .. best of luck in the future.. i know you'll be successful Noles247 Analyst Josh Newberg: Josh Newberg If the rumors of @markpantoni leaving #UF to go to #OhioState are true...OSU is getting one of the hardest workers in the biz. https://twitter.com/joshnewberg247/status/141250761748254720 Background on Mark Pantoni: Mark Pantoni is entering his fifth season on staff at the University of Florida, and second season as Program Coordinator for recruiting. His job responsibilities include the identifying and analysis of prospective student-athletes as well as working closely with the coaching staff aiding with the day to day recruiting operations. Pantoni was most recently an intern in 2006 for the Gator football team. Prior to that post, he was a student assistant for the Gator men's and women's track and field/cross country teams at the University of Florida
Complete Senior Highlights of FSU Wide Receiver commit Marvin Bracy. Special thanks to Coach Rick (Ricky Argro) for the link.
With Kansas Head Coach Turner Gill firing just moments ago will Kansas Athletic Director Sheahon Zenger interview Stoops for the Head Coaching job and take it? Why Stoops will be interviewed? History. Kansas Athletic Director Sheahon Zenger has known the Stoops family since 1991 when he worked with Bob Stoops at the Kansas State staff. Zenger also coached with Mark Stoops at USF in 1996 when Mark was a defensive back coach. Zenger and Stoops connected again at Wyoming from 1997-1999. This to go along with producing a top 10 defense will get Mark Stoops an interview for the Kansas job. Will Stoops take it? Big if here, but they say money conquers all and Kansas has it.With Kansas recent buyout of Turner Gill for 6 million, Kansas is willing to put up the big money for a head coach. For those who say it's Kansas why would you go there? Mark Mangino proved back in 2007 Kansas can make a BCS Bowl Game. What do you think? Will money be enough? Will Stoops wait for a better School? Will issues coaching against Bob lead him to turn it down? Will Stoops pull a Gene Chizik(took Iowa State job after Nat Championship)? Will being comfortable with your AD win out?
This is the second part of a series I will be doing on 2013 prospects that have Florida State offers. If you missed the first part of my series, link You wont find a breakdown like this on any other Florida State site when it comes to 2013 prospects this early. Today we look at Boone High School Running Back Aaron "AJ" Turman. Height: 6'0 Weight:206 Offers: Boston College, North Carolina State, Florida State, UCF and Florida Atlantic 2010 Stats- 1,511 yards and 15 TD's.which is a school rushing record 2011 stats- 1167 yards and 12 TDs on 160 carries Evaluation of AJ Turman: Turman is a very good college running back prospect with a coveted size to speed ratio and overall very impressive physical tools to develop. Has a taller, well-built frame that looks like it could still fill out to the 220-pound range. Physically imposing running back. Hits the hole with great burst, going north-south with very little wasted lateral movement. A three down running back who has been know to lay out blitzing linebackers. Needs to work better on catching the ball out of the backfield. Limited agility back who would prefer lowering his shoulder then dancing in the hole. One of the best size to speed ratio running backs in Florida. Dominates against top Florida competition playing in 8A. Top 30 player in Florida in my opinion for the 2013 class Background on AJ Turman: Plays with Florida State Wide Receiver commit Marvin Bracy at Boone High School. Starter since his freshman year which is very rare at Boone HS. Boone HS Head Coach Phil Zigler said this of Turman "I coached Stacey Mack, who played here and in the NFL. He will be better and that's saying a lot because I love Stacey." Earned his Florida State offer at Jimbo Fisher Camp once he ran a sub 4.5 40. Runs the 100 meters in under 11 seconds. Trained by former Florida State sprinter Ricky Argro who also trains Marvin Bracy. Multiple clients of Argro have gone on to play football at Florida State. Visited Auburn and Florida State who are consider his favorites for games this year. Additional Highlights http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Py9A9K5YIbw
This is the first part of a series I will be doing on 2013 prospects that have Florida State offers. Today we look at Saint Petersburg Catholic High School RB/CB Ryan Green Height: 5'10 Weight: 195 Offers:Notre Dame, Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, and Purdue 2011 Stats: 125 carries, 1069 yard , 14 TD 8.5 YPC Evaluation of film: A projected every-down college back with game-breaking speed, Green is one of the top backs in the state of Florida. The first thing you notice about Ryan Green is that he makes it look so easy. Part of this is the competition(3A) he plays against, but it also has to do with his 10.9 100 meter speed he possess. Green possess this excellent straight line speed with elite agility and great feet, which is one reason why some colleges are projecting him as a corner back. He possess great hands out of the backfield and will even run some routes out of the slot. Green has ideal size at 195lbs and a compact body structure, this guy is extremely quick-twitched and is a threat to rip off a huge run at any time. There is a reason why Ryan Green is one of only a few 2013 running backs who have offers from the Big 2(FSU/Florida). Top 30 player in Florida in my opinion for the 2013 class Background on Ryan Green: Green has visited multiple colleges this year including FSU. He was a participant at Jimbo FIsher Camp this past summer, were he received a verbal offer from the Florida State staff after an outstanding showing. He has multiple family members who have attended Florida State, including his sister. Additional Junior Highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkmkVhg4OrE
Senior Highlights of FSU Defensive End commit Mario Edwards. Special thanks to prepsreport for the film.
New film of 2013 Defensive Tackle FSU Commit Maquedius Bain in HD. Bain has dominated his competition this year with 38 tackles, 5 sacks and 5 blocked field goals on the year. Maquedius attended the FSU game this weekend with highly recruited WR Dionte Taylor and Jordan Cunningham Maquedius Bain will be a top 50 player in my 2013 State of Florida Rankings A major thanks to Chad Wilson of GridironStuds.com
New Juco Highlights of New Mexico Military Institute OT Daniel Glauser. Glauser will Official Visit Florida State on 11/19. He is on pace to enroll in December of the college he chooses. We covered the Offensive Tackle issue back in April and suggested Glauser might be a solution here
Junior Highlights of Florida State 2013 RB target Jordan Huff. I've recently learned that Huff has a torn ACL. He was averaging over 9 YPC for his St. Paul squad who play in Alabama(5A). Most recruiting analyst consider Huff a top 10 prospect in Alabama due to his combination of sub 4.5(electronic) speed, 195lbs size, and impressive feet. He clams a verbal offer from FSU and visited during the Oklahoma game this year. His former teammate is FSU QB Jacob Coker.
Juco Highlights of former FSU WR commit De'Joshua Johnson. Per Arizona Western Coach Josh Brewer they have sent DJ's tape to the FSU Athletic Department.
Senior Highlights of Florida State QB commit For the season he is: 126-of-178 for 1,753 yards, 23 touchdown passes and only one interception. FSU coaches will be at his school tomorrow per Josh Newberg of Noles247.com. Winston is the best QB prospect that I've seen in the past two years.
Per Timber Creek High School Coach Rob Hinson, class of 2013 teammates DT Greg Webb and DE Dajaun Drennon have received verbal offers from FSU. Highlights of DT Greg Webb http://www.hudl.com/athlete/672114/ Highlights of DE Dajaun Drennon http://www.hudl.com/athlete/337570/
Senior Highlights of #1 defensive tackle in the nation Eddie Goldman.
Senior Highlights of Ohio WR Monty Madaris who will take an Official Visit to FSU and Michigan State after his football season is over. Madaris camped at FSU during the summer and is from Greg Hudson former high school(Archbishop Moeller High School)
Senior Highlights of FSU running back target Barry Sanders JR.
New highlights of top 2013 LB target Mario Mathis. Mathis favorite team growing up was FSU, and has visited Tallahassee numerous times including this past weekend.
Senior Highlights of FSU Defensive End Commit Dante Fowler. This is Fowler first game action back after being suspended. He is number #6 in the video.
Since most probably missed the game since it was on FX network here are some highlights from Oklahoma game. On offense walk on RB Dominique Whaley had 131 yards rushing and WR Ryan Broyles had 158 yard receiving. Note true freshman RB Brandon Williams didn't touch the ball for OU.
