I'm in college and can't afford paying for "real" jerseys, and buying from China is too risky for me. However, on ebay I found a guy selling 3 Reebok Taylor Mays home jerseys that are the quality between screenprint and authentic, with semi-heavy fabric and stitched on name and number.
I know Taylor Mays was a joke, but if I got these, would anyone be interested in buying one? It's probably dumb to ask but I figured this would be a good board to ask and if anyone is in the same position as me you might be alright spending $20 or so on a real jersey, hell, even go to a dry cleaner or tailor and see if they can remove his name.

Buying "fake" or old 49er jerseys
Hi guys. I like to go on ebay to find cheap sports memorabilia, and I've been having trouble finding a good 49ers jersey, since I can't afford "real" ones (ie. authentic, or of popular players) due to being a college student. I recently looked on eBay and found a guy selling THREE Reebok home Taylor Mays jerseys that are all the replique version, that is, thequality between screenprinted and authentic, with stitched on name and number and semi-high quality fabric. Here is the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOT-of-SAN-FRANCISCO-49ers-TAYLOR-MAYS-PREMIERE-REEBOK-AUTHENTIC-NFL-JERSEY-NWT-/140748214380?pt=US_Football_Fan_Shop&hash=item20c53f506c#ht_522wt_1270

If I was to buy these jerseys, would anyone be interested in buying one off of me I would ship it to you as well obviously.
And in that vain, has anyone ever bought off of those chinese jersey sites and has a good experience with it? I have been looking at those for years but I'm always too skeptical to try it
Thanks guys.

Pro Football Focus "grades" the 2008-2010 49ers drafts
In honor of draft week, here is an article PFF put together (they did one of every team) "grading" the 49ers 2008-2010 drafts. PFF is a really good site and I think that all the analysis they put into each pick makes this a good source of discussion in a Fanpost/Front Page story.

I found a few funny tidbits.
- They consider wasting a 2nd round pick on Taylor Mays less of a bust than Anthony Davis. Also, funny how most "professionals" think Davis is a bust yet Niner fans don't, just like Alex Smith.
- Somehow Chilo Rachal "could have been worse". LOL.

2012 NFC free-agency grades
San Francisco 49ers
Key additions: S Dashon Goldson (franchised), QB Alex Smith (re-sign), CB Carlos Rogers (re-sign), WR Mario Manningham, LB Ahmad Brooks (re-sign), WR Randy Moss, RB Brandon Jacobs, QB Josh Johnson, CB Perrish Cox, WR Ted Ginn (re-sign), LB Tavares Gooden (re-sign)
Key losses: CB Shawntae Spencer, WR Josh Morgan, C Adam Snyder
Analysis: The 49ers are returning the league's best defense intact, even though they had a few prominent players' contracts expire. While they flirted with Peyton Manning (and to me, this is where Manning should have chosen to play), they have significantly improved their offense since the NFC Championship Game. What is curious is that while San Francisco clearly made a massive effort to improve the verticality of its offense with the additions of Moss and Manningham and even the re-signing of Ginn, Smith really isn't an adept downfield passer. Still, the new perimeter speed should open up room for the rest of San Francisco's offense while allowing Jim Harbaugh to utilize more multiple-receiver sets, which obviously is the direction offense in the NFL has gone. It also wouldn't shock me if Colin Kaepernick -- and his huge arm -- finds his way behind center before long.

QB guru tutored 49ers backups Kaepernick, Johnson
Which one, Johnson or Kaepernick, will win the battle to be the Niners' backup? Theder thinks both are capable of beating out Alex Smith for the starting job.
"I think both of them could, yes," Theder said. "I think they're both very talented - much more talented than Alex. I'm an Alex Smith fan. I just think Colin and Josh are both very, very talented kids."

Hi Bucs Nation. I'm a poster from Niners Nation and we just signed Josh Johnson to a 2 year deal. I'm personally pretty excited about getting JJ back to his old college QB mentor coach and seeing how he can develop

NBA's worst salary-cap teams (Insider)
These are the teams for which cap room is just a memory. And for good reason. Each is making a serious run at a title this year, has the horses to do it and is paying the cost. In addition to not having cap room, these teams are also facing another problem -- the luxury tax.
They will have to pay a dollar-for-dollar penalty for being over the tax line, along with what the new CBA penalizes taxpaying teams. For example, their midlevel exception is smaller ($3.09 million, instead of $5 million), and they can bring back a lower amount of salary in a trade than non-taxpaying teams can.
Chicago Bulls, $19 million over the cap, $6 million over the tax line: With Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, Carlos Boozer and Luol Deng safely in the fold, the Bulls have no real hope of having cap room in the foreseeable future. Their acquisition of Rip Hamilton with the midlevel exception hasn't paid the sort of dividends they were hoping for, so they may need to take another shot at finding a wing shooter this summer.

49ers' deal with Randy Moss is 1-year, $2.5 million with chance to earn $1.5 million more in incentives, ESPN's @AdamSchefter reports

Alex Smith targeting Ryan Fitzpatrick money?
The Niners were reportedly willing to offer a multi-year deal worth $8-11 million annually by the end of last season. Fitzpatrick's six-year, $59 million deal is valued at just under $10 million per season. It also includes $24 million guaranteed. Indications are the 49ers would prefer a shorter-term, three-year commitment with Smith. Smith's agent, Tom Condon, may be pushing for more years and long-range guaranteed money.

Chris Paul and Derrick Rose are undoubtedly the game's top two point guards. Their styles are a study in contrast. Each player uses a different set of finely honed skills to overwhelm and bewilder opponents.
Their matchups are among the most intriguing individual faceoffs in the league, and on Sunday they'll start opposite each other in the All-Star Game. But before they do that, we'll break down these talented lead guards, one category at a time, to determine which one is the better player.
Why are 49er fans the only ones who believe in Alex Smith?
I just think it's funny how every single analyst fan who isn't a Niner fan seems to have the same thoughts that Alex Smith isn't our future at QB, yet so many people on her think he is. Hmm, I wonder where that disconnect comes from. I wonder if it has to do with that we know how our team is "built" more than other people, ie. that you don't "need" to have a really good QB with our defense and ST, or that we just had to deal with such garbage from him for 6 years that one year of average QB play makes us think all of a sudden he's turning a corner?
I thought that after the NFCCG it was quite clear Alex can't do jack, yet many people on here seem to be very happy or confident with him, possibly because "he had this year with no offseason, imagine him if he did!" like there could be a discernible difference

Manning to 49ers could be tricky to pull off
But here’s where it gets tricky for the 49ers. With starting quarterback Alex Smith due to be a free agent on March 13 and the Colts not forced to make a decision on Manning until March 8, the 49ers could lose Smith if they don’t move quickly on Manning, who may not be fully healthy at that point.
That’s why the best fit for Manning could be a team that already has a starting quarterback under contract for 2012, giving the team some flexibility because there’s already a Plan A in place. Then, that team could do either what the Jets did to Chad Pennington in 2008 or what the Vikings did to Tarvaris Jackson in 2009 and 2010, if this year’s Plan A+ comes to town.
The 49ers could pull it off by re-signing Smith to a manageable deal, which would leave enough cap room to bring in Manning later. As Rosenthal pointed out Tuesday, Smith’s performance in the NFC title game could mean that the 49ers won’t have to break the bank in order to keep him around.
