Rule Change: Bryce Browns Worth

16

"Times are a changin" Bob Dylan. My guess is that similar to the effect of not allowing DB's to touch WR's after the initial 5 yds had on the passing game, the RB not being able to be as physical after the LOS (lowering head and shoulder) will have YAC (yards after contact) for big backs.--------------------------------------------------------------------- Brown has speed so it may not effect him as much as guys like, Trent Richardson, Marshawn Lynch, Alfred Morris, and AP. But it def has an impact. Defenders no longer have to worry about and situate themselves position wise to avoid or absorb a fully lowered shoulder. A RB's chest will be available for form tackling like never before AND SO WILL THEIR KNEES! Do big RB's lose some value because of this? IMO YES big time.

Mendenhall To Arizona and Greene to Titans

Head scratcher on the Titans move. If Zona can somehow find a decent QB they will have a good trio of players.

Broncos looking to steal Welker?

Denver has offered him a multiyear deal. Can you imagine if Thomas, Decker and Welker were PMann's weapons? Choose your death defenses.

Seems we can scratch him off our list.

4.5 40 yard dash, 20 reps(great for a DB!), 38.5 vert!, 7.06 3 cone shuttle. Best season was 2010. 65 solo tackles and 10 asst, 4 INT's, 1 FR and 11 PD. STRENGTHS Positives: Prototypical size for the position. ... Flashes a strong initial punch to disrupt the receiver's timing with the quarterback. ... At least adequate straight-line speed to remain at cornerback. ... Flexible hips to turn and run with receivers. ... Has the lateral agility and quickness to break on the ball. ... Long arms and active hands, which he uses well in coverage to bat away passes. ... At least adequate hands for the interception. ... Uses his size to his advantage and responds to the physical challenge of bigger receivers. ... Can highpoint the ball. ... Breaks down well in space to make the secure open-field tackle. ... Flashes some pop. ... Has the size and instincts to lead some teams to project him as a free safety prospect. ... Good week of practice at cornerback at the East-West Shrine Game has his stock on the rise. Negatives: Viewed by some as a bit of a "tweener." ... Lacks great fluidity out of his breaks and must prove he has the deep speed to run with the NFL's elite burners on the outside. ... Only has one full season as a starter. ... Tends to duck his head when fighting through blocks and can lose sight of the ball. ... Not the physical hitter most teams prefer if he is to move to free safety.

Redskins Release DeAngelo Hall.

De Hall had 92 tackles last year. More than our starting CB's combined. 4 INT's, 1 sack. And he is only 29.

Fantasy Draft 2013

+

Anyone interested in a post combine fantasy draft? I was thinking something like picking 1 player at all the positions except OL of who you think will have the best rookie year. We'll score it like FFB. 10 yds RB = 1pt, 15 yds WR/Reception = 1 pt, 25 yds QB = 1 pt, TD = 6. Defense solo tackles = 1 pt, group tackle = .5 pt, INT = 2, FR = 2, FF = 1 TD = 6 PB or All Pro = 10 pts Everyone submits their guys and we score after the season is over. I will put together a spread sheet and email it out if we can at least 10 people.

I'm not sure if this is possible but it would be cool if, every time I come to the site I could see what articles that I had previously commented on, that others commented on my comment. Kind of like it does if I'm still on the thread. But saves it for when I log back in. Just wondering.

Better option than both our starting CB's

1

(per ESPN Insider) Greg Toler, cornerback 2012 team: Arizona Cardinals Toler Take a look at the career regular-season coverage stats of Toler and you get a feel for a guy who could start for a handful of teams -- 720 snaps in coverage and 1,036 yards given up, with five touchdowns and five interceptions along with 13 pass breakups. That 1.44 yards per snap in coverage. That's less than guys like Cary Williams, Dunta Robinson and Aqib Talib gave up this season. Toler's performance in 2012, where quarterbacks had a 51.5 rating throwing into his coverage, isn't to be sniffed at. You don't need every cornerback on your roster to be a No. 1 guy who shuts down the best the opposition has to offer. You do need them to be able to hold up when teams go after them. Watch how Toler handled Matthew Stafford in Week 15 and you'll see that he can do exactly that.

IMLB 3-4 Option

+

(Per ESPN Insider)Brad Jones, linebacker 2012 team: Green Bay Packers Jones As an outside linebacker, Jones was something of a flop in Green Bay. He wasn't cut out for setting the edge and consistently generating pressure. As an inside linebacker, he was a huge success story. Starting the season as the No. 4 guy, injuries to Desmond Bishop and D.J. Smith meant he found himself starting, and it wasn't long before he was relegating A.J. Hawk to the bench as he assumed an every-down role. His role saw him dealing head-on with linemen and blockers at the second level, while the gimme tackles went to Hawk. That didn't stop Jones from posting a run stop percentage score better than the likes of Daryl Washington while finishing the year as our 11th-ranked inside linebacker. He's a starter in this league, and the Packers' depth may make him expendable. Seems like a guy who will be cheap but effective
