I'm a college student and an aspiring journalist. I love sports. Like it's a little pathetic how much I love sports. I can't get enough. Anyway, I want to be a sportswriter. I only have more year of school left then interviews, road trips and sports 24/7/365!!! I really can't wait. As for the Nationals, to be frank they are my second favorite team. I'm from CT and grew up watching Derek Jeter and the Core Four win World Series championships like nobody's business. I'm still a big fan. I just nearly had a heart attack watching last night's comeback where A-Rod tied it and Marcus Thames won it for the Yanks against the Red Sox. Despite all that, the Yankees can get a bit boring. They can always buy who they want and don't need to rely solely on prospects. That is where the Nationals come in. I've been following them after I chose them in franchise mode of MLB2k6 and took them to the playoffs. Then I bought a hat and have watched them through the ups and downs ever since. It's been so fun to watch their young stars blossom, especially my favorites Ian "DEZZZY" Desmond and Roger "BURN BABY BURN" Bernadina. This season is sure to get more exciting with Storen coming up and Strasburg making a date at Nationals Park around June 4th. This franchise is one that is on its way up, FAST and I'm really getting excited following them. That is why I joined SB Nation and also, I love reading the Federal Baseball site. The writing is passionate, yet factual. Oh yeah, I already have a San Francisco 49ers blog, http://the9erinsider.wordpress.com. I'm a die-hard 49ers from CT, there is seriously like 5 of us, so I have to represent.
