Hey everybody, I'm 19, I'm a student in college, and I love hockey! It's by far my favorite sport. The Colorado Avalanche are my favorite team, followed closely by the Pittsburgh Penguins. I've been a huge fan of both teams since 2001, when Patrick Roy (my favorite player of all time) led the Avs to the Cup and when Mario Lemieux (also my favorite player of all time) led the Penguins to the Eastern conference finals after coming out of retirement. That was such an awesome year... I'm also Russian, so of course I cheer for Russia's hockey team, the current back-to-back World Champions! :D

Dave Krieger of the RMN writes that Brett Hull told him that Sakic took so long to decide because his wife really wanted him to retire and spend time with the family. It all makes sense now. Pretty tough choice, I'm not married, but I'm guessing the wife usually has a pretty big say in things like this. Oh well, good for Joe going with his heart and playing another year imo. He's not old yet, there'll still be time to spend with his family when he retires.
What would you guys have done in this situation? I think I'd have come back as well.
