KC, Here I Come!

So I've been away for awhile and I have really missed a lot in the past couple weeks, a lot of losing, but still a lot. And what do I have to show for it? Well....a new job that will require me to move to KC and now a fiancee. Yep, another one takes the plunge!

I've got a ridiculously busy next few weeks with 2 weddings to attend and the move, but hopefully I'll get to catch up on RR soon. Keep up the good work everyone, and hopefully the boys can turn things around!

New RR Members

I've noticed a lot of new Royals Review members lately, either that or a lot of people changed their name when we switched over to the new format. Regardlesss, it's nice to see new names and read new opinions. I'd like to know if Royals fever is catching on in any new areas. So if you're new to RR or maybe just started posting regularly, let us know where you are cheering from.

I'd actually like to see how many states we have a representative from RR in. I'll start a list with what I know of off hand, feel free to add your state or country for that matter if it is not listed:

Missouri
Kansas
Iowa
Colorado
New York
Alaska
Montana
California
Washington
Texas
Massachusetts
Washington D.C. (I think)

I'm sure there are quite a few more, particularly Arkansas, Illinois and Nebraska. I just don't recall hearing those states mentioned by anyone. Kind of a lame post I know, but it's an off day and I just wanted to try out the new "FanPost" option.

Mizzou Moves up to No. 2 in Baseball America Poll
The Tigers have won 13-straight games and are 18-2 on the year. March 24, 2008

Following its three-game sweep over Baylor last weekend, Missouri has moved up two spots to No. 2 in the latest Baseball America Top 25 poll, released on Monday. The ranking is the highest ever for the Tigers, who have won 13-straight games.

The Collegiate Baseball Top 30 poll, also released on Monday, has the Tigers ranked No. 5.

Mizzou is 18-2 on the year, it best ever start and is 3-0 in the Big 12 Conference. The Tigers will travel to Minneapolis for a pair of games against Minnesota on Tuesday and Wednesday, before taking on Texas Tech in a three-game series this weekend in Lubbock, Texas.

Fox Sports - No Love For The Royals

FOX Sports latest edition of their MLB Power Rankings did not look at our Royals in a positive fashion. In fact, one could say they didn't look at them at all. They have ranked KC as number 30, as in worse than the Giants, Orioles, Pirates, and Marlins....oh, and also as in the worst team in the league! Now I don't claim to be anything special when it comes to evaluating MLB teams pre-Spring Training, but I do think I have done enough evaluation to justify the Royals as better than at least a few teams. But I guess a decade, or two, of losing tends to put you in situations like this.

Sorry for posting 2 diaries in a row, but I thought I would just add some fuel to the fire and get some more long discussions going. Found this article today on the effects of HGH, as told to Congress by four different doctors today.

So as you can see, the mystery has been solved....or has it? Go ahead and let the debating begin, this should be fun.

Found a write up done by Craig Brown about the 4 teams that consistenly finish at the bottom of the league. Being the knowledgeable Royals fan that I am, I just knew that our Royals would be included. Talks about our key gains and key losses using Win Shares. I was actually impressed by the knowledge of the Royals displayed in this article, albeit very short. Usually these guys don't take the time to research much more than the minimum.
