I've been working on this idea in the comments but figured I'd turn it into a fanpost. My idea would a Boozer + others  (ie Korver or a Bogans/Asik combo) trade for Joe Johnson and then ATL uses its amnesty clause on Josh Smith.

ATL starting five would still be:

Signed SG with the cap space from no more John Smith

Marvin Williams

Boozer

Horford         

along with savings of about 6M in 2013 and 2014 and the one year less Boozers deal is then JJ's  means they save paying an aging Joe Johnson 25M in 2015(This would I think be the biggest intensive for them to do the deal)

We could look like:

Taj( who we could now sign longer term if we wanted since we wouldnt have to worry about the tax level and using the MLE for a SG or jst a one year MLE Deal for a Backup SF)
