We are a university that is not used to change, and i guess our fears our now finally starting to come true. We have been lucky to have stability over the time Joe Pa has been here along with the coaching staff. My personal view is.. i've seen the all the head coaching debacles.. but don't get me wrong.. other universities have struck gold with their coaching finds.. but most of time.. there are a few misses along the way till the right coach is found. Look what Notre Dame has been going through the past decade.. Charlie Weis is a decent coach.. but i still feel his super bowls and pro success are the only thing he really has. Miami has had their coaching issues.. who knows how long Randy Shannon will be there, i still feel for Larry Coker.. he was a good ball coach, heck he even won a national championship.. don't forget the Alabama ordeal.. my point is, say we bring in another guy.. and he falls on his face.. then another guy and the same thing happens till we find the right coach.. it's just a scary thought.. because that could really damage our tradition.. especially after we are used to such stability.. will we know how to handle it? I know there are the same risks with hiring someone from the inside.. but we know the guys we have now can coach.. i am a diehard fan and i will bleed blue and white till the day i die.. and i do not want to see my Lions falter.. i just don't think life without Joe Pa will be all that everyone thinks it is going to be..

The Domino Effect..

I really do not want to see Penn State hire a coach outside of the system. Has anyone thought about the domino effect of what could happen.. say if Greg Schiano would become the next head coach at Penn State. What would happen to the coaches we have on staff now? Would Tom Bradley pull a "Jerry Sandusky"? Would Schiano bring his staff from Rutgers.. just like Rich Rod did with his move from WVU to Michigan? If there is anyone who deserves the head coaching position at Penn State when Joe retires, it is Tom Bradley, I am a firm believer on that. The reason i bring up Jerry Sandusky is because before there was a Tom Bradley.. Sandusky was the most deserving of the head coaching job at Penn State. I just hope Bradley stays long enough to get his chance.

All you people that are saying Schiano is a recruiting guru in the northeast.. just take a step back and think.. he has to have help, right? His coaching staff contributes a lot to those players he brings in.. and if he were to leave Rutgers, would his staff follow him.. and if they would.. that would mean the coaching staff we have now at Penn State (in my opinion, we have one of the best in the nation) would get the boot and i really do not want to see that happen to those guys who have been here so long and put there blood, sweat, and time in this program just as much as the other guy.

So shed some light on this people.. what do you think? Do i have a point?
