Better off this way
Steeler's schedule next year
Here's the home games:
Baltimore: Exciting, as always
Cincinnati: Meh
Kansas City: Zzzzzzzz..
San Diego: Might be good
Philadelphia: "Dream Team" meets a real team
Washington: Easy
Cleveland: Well....bacon?
New York Jets: Defense...Sanchez Sandwich, anyone?
Here's the away games:
Baltimore: Again, exciting
Cincinnati: Eh
Cleveland: Wait, they still have fans?
Denver: When Tebow meets Taylor
Oakland: I'll be in the stands, let ya'll know later
Dallas: Tony Who knows
New York Giants: Fun, looking forward to this one
Tennessee: Stomp a Titan and win a cookie
Well, there ya go. Time and dates to be determined
Idea, perhaps?
Got bored watching the Packers & Lions.
Dolphins + Cowboys = ZzzzzzzzZzzzzz
49ers & Ravens MAY help, but they're not the Steelers.
So, I ask you:
How about a Thanksgiving game in Pittsburgh? I'm all for it. What about you?
Think about it now...
Bears @ Steelers
Ravens @ Steelers
Oakland?
NYJ?
Well...whatcha think guys?
Have a Happy Thanksgiving Steeler Nation. Eat, drink some beer, have some pie and enjoy the night.
One more thing:
Happy Black Friday!
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Arizona Cardinals: Possible Grudgmatch?
Remember the last time these two teams met, not counting the pre-season?
Since I was working that cold night, I remember seeing James Harrison intercepting Kurt Warner, and running back for a touchdown. Since work was relatively cold and quiet, I was sent home. I walked across the street only to see Kurt throw a pass to Larry Fitzgerald. Boom! Touchdown Arizona.
Suddenly. I felt my heart drop. Seeing Larry in the end zone, celebrating what appeared to be the game-winning touchdown, it killed me.
"That seriously JUST happened? I came here to see us lose? Come on Ben, I believe in you!"
Everybody on the Steelers's sidelines just pondered as if they had just lost. One man kept his composure. That was Mike Tomlin, the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. he told Ben to do his thing and bring the trophy backhome to Pittsburgh.
With the time winding down, we saw Ben prove to the world why he's an elite Quarterback in this Tom Brady/Payton Manning-loving NFL. He drove the team down to score with less then 35 seconds left in the game.
But that was then.
Alot has changed over the past few years. Kurt Warner has retired. Santonio Holmes was randomly traded to the New York Jets for a fifth rounder. Them, among many players had come and gone.
Keep your eyes on:
How Arizona comes out from their bye week. Even though their record says one thing, there's plenty of time to turn things around.
Steeler's Defense: Jacksonville gave the Defense quite a scare. With Harrison, Hampton, and Smith out, the Steelers D may be in for a surprise. The Steeler's D has to contain Larry Fitzgerald, but don't forget Early Doucet, Todd Heap (remember me from Baltimore) and Beanie Wells. It should be noted that we average 122.3, while the D coughs up 112.8 yards per game. (pass D gives up 157.7 per game). Steeler's D is no.1 in passing ypg, and in total Defense.
Rashard Mendenhall: Coming off of injury, Mendenhall stopped the critic chatter by running for 146 yards on 23 carries. Can he keep it up, or is Arizona gonna shut him down with their run defense? Remember, Arizona gives up 118.8 yards a game....on average.
Mike Wallace is playing great. Could you imagine how much more lethal he'd be if Ben was more accurate with the football?
Ought to be a good one. Steelers win 31-17
Sad face
Buster Posey is officially out for the season.
D:
2011 Thursday Night Football schedule
November 10: Oakland Raiders vs. San Diego Chargers
November 17: New York Jets vs. Denver Broncos
November 24 (Thanksgiving Classic): San Francisco 49ers vs. Baltimore Ravens.
Interestingly enough, this is the only game on Thanksgiving
December 1: Philadelphia Eagles vs. Seattle Seahawks
December 8: Cleveland Browns vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
December 15: Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Atlanta Falcons
December 17 (Saturday): Dallas Cowboys vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Thank you Chauncey
As a member of Nuggets Nation, I'd like to thank Chauncey Billups for everything he has done on and off of the court. You were the reason why we were once contenders in the Western Conference. You were the one who brought leadership to this Nuggets squad. You were the one who helped put players like J.R. Smith, Arron Affalo and Ty Lawson.
Even though you were unfairly traded, we'll never forget what you have done for this organization. You deserve better and we'll miss you greatly.
Although you're probably pissed off right now (and have every right to be) we wish you good luck in New York. Maybe, just maybe, we'll see you again a Nuggets uniform, a uniform you should be in.
As for you Carmelo, I hope you realize what you have officially lost in Denver. The fans in New York will love you, sure. Why wouldn't they? You're a Knick. But to basically quit on a team that gave you a second chance after you fucked up early on in your career, well, that's classless. You're going to make more money, but you're not going to have an easier chance to win a Championship in New York. The East is getting stronger, while the West is gettting weaker. Have fun in New York....you bastard!

Mini Hulk's Madness Thread
Well, it's been a few days since the loss to Green Bay. Amazingly enough, the people at work gave me shit for supporting the Steelers. I just told them to eat their freaking cheese (that's not what I really said, but I've got to stop swearing like a Sailor. lol) and stop talking about it. We lost, let me sulk without the finger pointing and what not.
Anyway, it's the off-season now.
Looks like everybody has posted some updates., but I'll help out as well:
It you haven't heard, Hines Ward will be going under the knife for his left knee and left thumb.
Also, we're going to have 20 players on our team without a contract next year. Players like Ike Taylor and LaMarr Woodley. While Woodley expects us to use the Franchise Tag one him, Taylor and his agent have begun negotiations (which is a good sign). However, due to the Steelers run in the Playoffs, Kevin Colbert has been behind, so don't expect anything to happen...yet.
There are also concerns regarding Arron Smith and Flozel Adams.
For as good as they are, veterans like defensive end Aaron Smith and tackle Flozell Adams may not be willing to stay in Pittsburgh if asked to take a pay cut.
There have been reports that Adams may retire, and I'd like to have Smith back in the Black and Gold. In fact, I'd like to have both of them back.
The biggest news: Dick LeBeau may retire next week, but he's going to give it some thought. Obviously, the Steelers are hoping he comes back. Here's the story on that.
Anybody worried about Big Ben?
No, I'm not referring about the off-season either.
I'm talking about him health wise. Obviously he's going to be under the knife for his broken nose and shattered ankle, but what about his left knee? He's been limping like crazy ever since the low blow in the Ravens/Steelers game just a few weeks ago.
Did he tear his knee or something? I have a funny feeling we're going to learn everything within the next few days.
This probably didn't really require a fanpost, but this needs to be addressed.
Jets @ Steelers: The Rematch
So, we're all aware of what happened a few weeks ago. I must remind everybody that both Heath Miller and Troy Polamalu were not on the field that snowy day. I must admit, the Jets did manage to pull off the upset, all because Matt Spaeth couldn't finish the game winning catch from Ben Roethlisberger.
Well, guess what Jet fans? Troy Polamalu and Heath Miller are back. Ben's playing better. Our Defense is clearly better then yours. Not to mention we have home field advantage and the Pittsburgh Faithful will be waving the Terrible Towels the entire night and will be on your asses constantly.
Yeah, you beat the Colts. They were so fucked up, and you barely beat them.
Yeah, you beat the Patriots. They kept dropping key passes.
Big deal. We're not the Colts or the Patriots. We're going to show up and give everything we have.
GO STEELERS!!
Sunday Playoffs Thread 2.0
This is the Packers @ Eagles game thread, since the other one was killing my computer. Haha
Ravens @ Chiefs was alright. There were plenty of turnovers and junk. Chief's Defense tried to keep the team in the game, but it was simply too much for them. Their inexperience showed as they coughed up the ball several times, and it cossed them dearly.
Anyway, I'm still taking the Packers in an upset. I think a 31-27 victory would be accurate.
Goodell trims Harrison's fine
Well, isn't that nice?
Mini Hulk's Madness Thread
How's everybody doing? I know, it's been forever since I posted something.
Hope everybody had a great Christmas.
Blah blah blah
Well, let's get started, shall we?
- Thoughts about the Carolina Panthers @ Pittsburgh Steelers game
- Looking around the NFL
So, if you didn't watch the Thursday game, you didn't miss much. The Steelers are one game away from not only winning the AFC North Division Title, but getting a much needed 1st round bye. We have aching key players ( Polamalu, A. Smith, Roethlisberger etc..) who could sure use a break. All they need to do is beat a Browns team who has nothing to play for, except for pride. Expect a hard fought battle next week.
Anywho, from the very beginning, the loyal fans of Pittsburgh were rocking the stadium called Heinz Field. The Defense came out with chips on their shoulders, knowing that this was a must win game. Ben Roethlisberger and the Offense knew that the Defense was going to do their part, so it was only right if he did the same.
(I guess Carolina forgot where they were playing)
Carolina had the ball to start the game, and they thought feeding the ball to Stewart would help them out a lot. Well, it was working in their favor. They managed to get to the Steelers 35 yard line until two false starts penalties, then 2 short passes. Carolina punts.
After that, it was all Pittsburgh. Rashard Mendenhall had a nice start, a 35 yard run. Then, there was Heath. Two catches for 28 yards. Sadly, the drive ended on a Field Goal because Roethlisberger's TD pass to Emmanual Sanders was challenged, and reversed. Thank goodness we have Suisham. I was worried about him at first, but he's been really good. Thanks for making me believe in you. :]
I guess there's not much to go from here. We won the game, convincingly. Big Ben was Big Ben. Got sacked a couple times. Made big plays. He even ran a QB Sneak for a touchdown. The Defense was stingy. Special Teams scared me a little bit. Yeah.
We didn't get a shutout, but hey, we won. Steelers also went to 6-7 without Troy Polamalu. Get well soon my friend.
So, it looks like the Chargers are officially done this year. That crappy start lasted virtually all season long. They were swept by the upcoming Oakland Raiders, they lost to the Divison Champs Chiefs. Yeah, they pounded them a couple of weeks ago, but Matt Cassel wasn't playing. Will Turner keep his job as their Coach? Seriously? How can this team have the #1 Offense AND #1 Defense in the NFL and suck so bad? Simple: Special Teams. Remember the game in Oakland? Lol! (the one time I was ACTUALLY rooting for the Raiders, they od me a favor and destroy the Chargers) Today wasn't any better either. The world (or whoever was able to watch the game) witnessed the ultimate destruction of the Chargers, courtesy of the Cincinnati Bengals. Worst thing was that the T.O Show didn't even play. Neither of them. Haha!
Another California team who's done are the San Francisco 49ers. Seriously, I can't believe they still had a chance to go to the Playoffs in the first place. Mike Singletary decided to start Troy Smith, instead of Alex Smith. Personally, that was a big mistake. Although Alex is inconsistent, he still knows the playbook better, and he's 3-1 all time against the Rams. Throughout the entire game, both teams struggled to make any kind of big play. The Rams took an early 9-0 lead (TD and a Safety) to get things going, only to see Ted Ginn Jr. . Then, St. Louis answers with a Field Goal. 49ers come back with a Crabtree touchdown. 49ers lead 14-12. You can hear the fans jeer in disgust. 2nd half of the game, Troy Smith and the 49ers turn it over off of an Smith INT. Rams turn it into another Fg. 3rd quarter is a massive bust as good ol' Jeff Reed misses a 34 yard Fg. 4th quarter, Troy Smith fumbled the ball, and Westbrook recovered. While Singletary and T. Smith got into an arguement on the bench, Sam Bradford and the Rams Answer the fans with another touchdown pass. This time, Robinson was the receiver. Kick is good.
Finally, Alex Smith is in the game. Basically, he couldn't get the 49ers out the hole, as he was hit, he fumbled the ball and the Rams get it. That's basically it.
Rams win, 25-17. Good luck finding a job, Singletary.
How 'bout them Chiefs? After winning only four games, watching the Chargers win the Division, they finally get a chance to make some serious noise. The Chiefs took care of buisness against the Tennessee Titans 34-14. Sad thing was that it was 31-7 at half. But that's alright. The Chiefs are the AFC West Champions!! They will either play the Jets, Ravens, or Steelers to start the Playoffs.
(Do I see a potential fine here?)
Well, so much for the QB destroying New York Giants. After the Defense self-destructed against the Eagles last week, the entire team blew up today. While Packer's QB Arron Rodgers threw for 4 touchdowns, little Eli Manning threw 4 interceptions. Since I didn't watch the game, I'm not sure if all of those INTs were Eli's fault, but this is unacceptable. This team should be an elite team, especially in the struggleing NFC. Instead, they're choking. Their coach could be fired. The city of New York is irate. What can you do? To make things worse, they handed the Division to their rival Eagles, so even if Philadelphia drops the last two games, they still have the Division. Too bad, nobody is feeling bad for you guys.
I really wish the Jets @ Bears game was on my T.V. today. I missed a lot of great plays. Mark Sanchez and Jay Cutler put on a show for the fans in Chicago. After Chicago scored, the Jets took over, and went ahead. I'm assuming the fans were booing their Defense. Everybody thought the Bears were going to get another beating at home. Jay Cutler wasn't going to let that happen. Looking like a potential MVP candidate, Cutler ran in for a 2 yard touchdown. That was the turning point for Chicago. Throughout the rest of the game, Sanchez and Cutler went back at it. Touchdown after touchdown. Field Goal to Field Goal. Defense...optional. I'm interested to see how Cutler looks in the Playoffs. Can't wait!
(Don't worry New York, the Jets are in the Playoffs, again)
I also thought this article on the Bears was interesting. Check it out here.
Oh, by the way. Anybody see Peyton Manning's bootleg run? Didn't think he could actually do this. Lol!
Well, I hope ya'll enjoy it, cause it took me forever to type. :p
Notes on Big Ben
It's pretty interesting. Maybe one day, everybody can forgive him. He is human after all.
Birdman's season debut on Monday?
It's a possibility. Let's hope practice goes well.
Hines Ward to play on Sunday
Well, that's good. :]
Mini Hulk's Monday Madness Thread 11/8 edition
I've been in a pretty good mood all week long. San Francisco Giants won the World Series, I'm starting school in a couple of weeks. Life is good right now. However, I'm making this one short because I'm lazy.
Whatever, here are the topics for this week:
- Steelers @ Bengals preview
- The return of Thursday Night Football
- Around the NFL
Ah, the time for revenge has finally come. The Pittsburgh Steelers final road game will be against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night. This game isn't necessary a must win, but it'd be nice to beat them. I've been waiting for the rematch after watching Pittsburgh lose both games last year.
Anyway, this rivalry dates back to the 1970's. Pittsburgh holds the lead with 53-28 series victories.
I still have memories of our first meeting last year when the Steelers gave Carson Palmer enough time and space to throw the game-winning TD to Andre Caldwell. Palmer also completed a two point conversion to put the Bengals up 23-20. Ben Roethlisberger threw the Hail Mary, but is was incomplete, and the game ended. The victory went to Cincinnati. This was also the first time Roethlisberger lost to a team in Ohio (home state and all)
The 2nd meeting wasn't any better. Ben was under distress throughout the entire game, was sacked several times, and we lost....again. Not only was our Offense crap, but our Special Teams was flat out terrible. The only TD in the game was a 94 yard kickoff return by Bernard Scott. Other then that, all of the scoring came from Jeff Reed of Pittsburgh and Shyane Graham of Cincinnati.
But that was last year. This year is different. The Bengals are struggling and I'm sure Pittsburgh's Defense has revenge on their minds. Ben (hopefully) won't look like crap like he did on Sunday. Heath Miller won't fumble the ball, Mendenhall runs all over the Bengal's defense, and Mike Wallace will have a huge game.
It won't be easy, considering the weak link in our Defense is the passing game, and that has to change. We clean that up a bit, and we're good to go.
Anyway, Steelers win 24-17
La la la, the wonderful world of the NFL.
So, the Minnesota Vikings are in some serious trouble here. No, it's not just their record. The locker room is a mess. Percy Harvin and Brad Childress almost got into a fight. The players don't respect their coach. The owner of the Vikings is "mum" on the status of Childress, whatever that means.
During the Cardinals @ Vikings game, fans were showing their displeasure for their coach, chanting "Fire Childress!" That's not all. Players on the Vikings roster haven't been exactly happy either. Here's a good example:
"The players have had enough of his BS. He needs to go."
Oh wow. That's pretty bad. Brad Childress obviously hasn't been the greatest guy in the locker room, but the frustration is finally coming out. Can you blame the team? Your coach questions your QB, who's been playing since 1992. You trade for Randy Moss by giving away a third round draft pick, only to get rid of him after four weeks because it "wasn't working out." Really? That's like giving up a PSP for a Snickers bar.
On a happier note, Brett Favre and the Vikings pulled off another memorial victory over the Arizona Cardinals. With the help of Running Back Adrian Peterson, Brett Favre drove the Vikings down to field for an Adrian Peterson touchdown. Next Cardinals possession ended up in a 3 and out. Arizona punts the ball to Camarillo. However, there was a penalty on Minnesota's Chris Cook for an illegal block in the back.
With only 2:24 minutes to play in the 4th and with no timeouts remaining, Brett Favre started the drive by throwing a short pass to Bernard Berrian for 15 yards. Then, another short pass to Adrian Peterson who turns it into a 33 yard run. With .34 seconds left, Brett threw a pass to Visanthe Shiancoe for the TD. Extra point tied the game.
In overtime, Viking's Defense stepped it up, stopped the Cardinals, and gave the old Gunslinger another chance to win. In the end, Ryan Longwell kicked the game winning FG. Final score: 27-24
One more thing: I heard Sidney Rice is coming back soon.
So, the Cleveland Browns shocked the world again yesterday. This time, the New England Patriots. Yes, it's true. I looked it up. The all mighty Tom "Beiber 2.0" Brady couldn't escape the wrath of Peyton Hillis and the Browns. Hillis had 29 carries for 184 yards...wait, who? I've never heard of this guy. I also think the Browns finally found their starting QB, Colt McCoy. 14/19 for 174 yards, no TDs, no INTs. Yeah, those numbers aren't eye popping, but it's good to hear the kid is getting the job done. I bet Texas misses him badly.
So it's official, (if it wasn't already) Dallas has given up. When your Defense gives up 28 points in the 1st half of the game, it usually means lights out. To make things worse, After Green Bay went up 21-0, the Dallas Cowboys fumbles the ball, and the Packers ran it in for a TD. Thing is, McCann's knee was down before the ball came out, but Wade Phillips didn't throw the challenge flag. What the hell? To make things worse, they had no timeouts, so they couldn't challenge the play even if they wanted to. Talk about insult to injury. Seriously, this is pathetic.
The 2nd half wasn't any better. Dallas couldn't get anything going, Green Bay had complete control, and I lost my interest in the game.
Things won't be getting any easier as they get to travel to New Jersey to face the New York Giants. Oh my!
During this game, I couldn't help but think Clay Matthews has to be a top pick for Defensive Player of the Year. Guy is a BEAST!! Not only was he getting to the QB, but he also returned a fumble in for a TD.
Here's the schedule for this year:
- November 11: Baltimore Ravens @ Atlanta Falcons (that's this Thursday if you're not paying attention)
- November 18: Chicago Bears @ Miami Dolphins
- Thanksgiving Day Special: New England Patriots @ Detroit Lions, New Orleans Saints @ Dallas Cowboys, then Cincinnati Bengals @ New York Jets
- December 2: Houston Texans @ Philadelphia Eagles
- December 9: Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans
- December 16: San Francisco 49ers @ San Diego Chargers
- December 23: Carolina Panthers @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Isaac Redman, the most interesting man in the world!
Just felt like my post needed more Redzone Redman.
Hope my laziness didn't disappoint anybody.
Go Steelers!
George Karl frustrated
Why? Take a guess
Renteria isn't retiring yet
How 'bout it guys? One year deal?
She said what??
Roethlis....what?
Mini Hulk's Monday Madness Thread 11/1 edition
By the way, if you have any suggestions, or if you'd like me to add anything, feel free to say something. I promise I won't rip your arms off. Halloween is over too, so make sure you hide your candy from your parents, and brush your teeth two to three times a day. Your mother will be relieved.
Here's the topics for today:
- Thoughts about the Steelers @ Saints
- Who is the best in the NFC
- Thoughts around the NFL
- Texans @ Colts preview
Even though the World Series was on, I chose to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers because I was looking forward to this game before the season even started. Now, I wish I didn't.
I really don't have much to say here, but I'll try anyway.
Right from the very beginning, the Pittsburgh Steelers weren't playing like the Steelers we know. Bunch of questionable play calling, bunch of missed calls. Etc... Roethlisberger looked uncomfortable in the pocket all night long, he wouldn't get rid of the ball when he needed to, and he just, couldn't get anything going.
In the 1st Quarter, Rashard Mendenhall looked like he was in for a touchdown, but the Saints challenged the play and it was overturned. OK, so we gave the ball back to Mendenhall and the result: no touchdown. In fact, we settled in for a field goal.
Right before halftime, the Saints were driving down the field, tried to make a trick play, but Mike Tomlin called a timeout. Smart move. Held them to a field goal.
Going into halftime, the game was tied at 3-3. 2nd half was different.
I'm just going to jump right into the 4th Quarter here.
Saint's first possession: Drew Brees throws a short pass to Colston for a touchdown.
Steelers respond with a 38 yard Rashard Mendenhall touchdown run.
Saint's 2nd possession: Brees is sacked by Bryant McFadden, fumbled the ball, and LaMarr Woodley recovered.
Steeler's 2nd drive: Roethlisberger throws a short pass to Tight End Heath Miller, who was pretty quiet last night. Miller was hit, he fumbled the ball, and Darren Sharper recovered the ball. The result: touchdown Saints.
Steeler's last drive ended with a Roethlisberger interception. Game over.
Overall, I'm really disappointed in both teams. The game was sloppy, the refs missed several calls, but the fans were rockin'. This game also showed us our biggest weakness in our Defense, the passing game. We don't play till next Monday, so, here's to looking forward to a Bengals bash!
I've been doing some thinking lately. Who, exactly, is the best in the NFC? Well, let's take a look at some stats on the Division leading teams in the NFC?

Yards: 263.3 (2th in NFL)
Passing Yards: 177.9 (2nd in NFL)
Rushing Yards: 85.4 (3rd in NFL)
I remember watching the coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers saying that stats were stupid and that they're the best. I have a hard time believing the Buccaneers are the team to beat. You were blown out by Pittsburgh and blown out by New Orleans. You barely beat the Browns, Bengals and Rams, and you pounded a crappy Carolina team.
Your next five games: @ Arizona, @ Atlanta, Carolina, @ 49ers and @ Baltimore. You'll have to win the 4 out of 5 to convince me.
Anyway, the team in the NFC right now is the New York Giants. They destroy QBs, their WRs are terrific, and Eli Manning may throw stupid INT's, but he's perfectly capable of throwing for over 300 yards.
So, I was chilling in my room, switching the music channels, when this very song popped up. It's called Maniac, and it's addicting as hell. I had to get on Frostwire to download it because it's so epic. I've been listening to it ever since. Freaking amazing! I'll post the video so I can spread the word.
So, Dallas lost, again. To make things worse, it was a blowout to Jacksonville. JACKSONVILLE?! What? That's crazy! David Garrard threw four TDs while poor Jon Kitna threw 4 interceptions. Sad. I think Dallas quit. It's not going to get any easier from here, as they travel to Green Bay to take down the Jets stomping Packers. Hopefully Wade Phillips gets the Sunday newspaper, because he's going to need a job soon.
Speaking of the Packers, how 'bout that? The mighty New York Jets were shut out at home against a team who has been losing players more then I've been losing money. My word. What happened to the "Sanchise"? 2 interceptions? That's unacceptable Marky Mark. Of course, Arron Rodgers wasn't exactly spectacular either, but he was obviously the better QB.
Hey look, San Diego won a game yesterday. Yes, it's true. I looked it up. The Chargers held the "best running back in the NFL" Chris Johnson to only 59 yards. Not to shabby. Maybe Phillip Rivers can finally grow a pair and shut up.
The return of Mathew Stafford was a success. For a guy who sat out since the first game of the year, man, he was good. 4 touchdowns and only 1 interception. The thing that puzzles me is the benching of Donovan McNabb. Seriously. What the hell? And to make things worse, you benched McNabb for Rex Grossman?! What were the Redskins thinking? Grossman fumbled the ball and Ndamukong Suh ran it back for a touchdown. Man, I love that guy.
The Houston Texans are in Indianapolis to take on Peyton Manning and fragile Colts. My goodness. How much worse could it possibly get? No Dallas Clark. No Austin Collie. Still no Bob Sanders. Etc... The last time these two played one another, we all saw Arian Foster run for 231 yards on 33 carries. REALLY? On the Colts? How is that possible?
Meanwhile, the Colts have no running game and I mean NONE! Can they really rely on Peyton Manning's arm so much? Not really. Sure, their record says otherwise, but still.
Whatever, don't expect Arian Foster to run all over the Colts again. My guess is that he'll get half of the yards he ranked up in week 1. Dwight Freeny will sack Schaub at least once. Peyton throws for over 300 yards. Oh, by the way, they're playing in Indianapolis.
Colts win 31-24

Barry Bonds as a hitting coach?
How 'bout that?
Shelden Williams will start
Even though George Karl planned on having Harrington come off of the bench, I didn't think it would actually happen. Well, it happened.
So, here's the lineup for the Denver Nuggets to start the year off:
Starting five:
Point Guard: Chauncey Billups
Porjected time: 25-33 minutes
Shooting Guard: Arron Affalo
Projected minutes: 30-38 minutes
Small Forward : Carmelo Anthony
Projected minutes: 35-40 minutes
Power Forward: Shelden Williams

Mini Hulk's Monday Madness Thread 10/25 edition
Good morning everybody. Here's this week's topics:
- Thoughts on the Steelers @ Dolphins
- Rick Rypien's suspension
- Texas Rangers and the San Fransisco Giants series reviews
- Opinions about the other teams in the NFL
- Giants @ Cowboys preview
Watching the beginning of the game, I had a funny feeling we were going to struggle head on. On the kick off, Emmanuel Sanders fumbled the ball, and Miami recovered. With great field position to start the game, you'd expect the Dolphins to take an early 7-0 lead. Instead, they were stuffed, thus, ending up with a field goal. 2nd posession for Pittsburgh, Roethlisberger tried to avoid a sack, but ended up fumbling the ball, giving the Dolphins great field position once again. Steeler's Defense stepped up, stuffed the Dolphins, and forced another field goal. In the 2nd quarter, Chad Henne threw the ball to Brian Hartline, who fumbled the ball, and it ended up in Farrior's hands. Looked almost as if Hartline was actually passing the ball to Farrior. As we have witnessed time and time again, Big Ben showed his toughness as he stayed in the pocket, and threw a pass to Hines Ward, who fought off the defenders to get into the end zone. Touchdown Pittsburgh!
Since the weather screwed my power last night, my dad and I sat in the car and listened to the game. They were talking about Roethlisberger's touchdown run that was overturned, but the lack of evidence prevented the Dolphins from getting the ball back. I didn't know what to think of the situation. Ben was shaking his head, the fans were going crazy, and I was trapped in a Mini Cooper with my dad, trying to picture the play that has just occurred. With two minutes remaining, the Miami Dolphins were driving down the field. They didn't have any timeouts, so they couldn't waste any time. 4th down and 6, Henne threw the ball, James Harrison looked to have intercepted the ball (eventually ruled an incomplete pass) and Ben decided to kneel it down and end the game.
Here's the stats for Big Ben: 16-27 for 302 yards, two touchdowns, no INTS, had three fumbles, but only lost one.
Rashard Mendenhall was a bit off . 15 carries for only 37 yards.
Mewelde Moore Looked alive yesterday. 4 received for 48 yards, ran for 11 too.
How old is Hines Ward? He's not supposed to be ranking up number like this.
7 received for 131 yards and a touchdown. he averaged about 19 yards yesterday.
Overall, I'm disappointed by the way we won yesterday, but a win is a win.
For those who don't really pay attention to the NHL, Rick Rypien has been suspended for six games. You're probably wondering why I even bothered bringing this up.
Well, if you haven't seen the incident, here's the video:
It you haven't noticed, there's two problems with this (aside from the obvious)
1. There's no glass between the fans and the players. If I've been paying attention, the fans and the NHL players are supposed to be separated from each other with Plexiglass. The Plexiglass is also there to protect flying pucks from hitting a fan. Without the glass, Rick heard and saw the fan, took it the wrong way, and grabbed him. I wasn't there, so I can't say the guy did or didn't deserve it, but it should raise a few flags.
2. The black tarp that's supposed to keep any flying objects away from the players. I mean, really. Are the people who are supposed to be setting up the arena that lazy? Do they not care about getting sued and losing their job? Here's a idea on what could have happened:
Suppose the fan threw a beer bottle at Rick. He get's mad, grabs the guy, and beats the living hell out of him. Other fans and players get into it (since there was no glass covering the area) and it gets out of control. Who's fault would it be? The players for defending their selves and their teammates? The fan who threw the bottle?
You guys see my point?
If you haven't been paying attention to baseball, the Texas Rangers defeated the New York Yankees on Friday. Your ALCS MVP: Josh Hamilton. A well deserved honor. Out of respect for their MVP, they celebrated with ginger ale instead of the usual champagne. One of the nicest things I've ever seen in sports. :]
I'm really happy for them. All year long, they had to put up with the media saying that the Yankees were going to go back to the World Series, Challenge the Philadelphia Phillies, and win again. but not this year my friend. No. The Texas Rangers showed pride, guts, and heart all year long, and look where they're at now. Sure, they're going to be in San Fransisco to start the series, but they earned it.
It's funny, The Yankees have great pitchers, but they couldn't do jack against the Rangers. They were also outscored 38-18...pathetic. I'd be ashamed if I was part of that organization.
Meanwhile, the San Fransisco Giants failed to clinch the NL at home, but they shocked the world and beat the Phillies in Philadelphia. The crowd was hostile the entire game. Everytime the Giants came to bat, the crowd booed. Things took a dramatic turn in the 3rd inning when Giants Pitcher Jonathan Sanchez hit Chase Utley with a pitch. Utley tossed the ball back to Sanchez, who took it the wrong way. He said something, Chase didn't like it, and a fight almost broke out. Sanchez was pulled out of the game, mainly because he gave up two quick runs and was throwing balls instead of strikes.
As the game progressed, the Phillies were getting on base, but they couldn't capitalize. In the 8th inning, Juan Uribe hit what was the game winning home run. The fans suddenly went quiet, but got back into it when Giants Pitcher Tim Lincecum, who played the other day, came in as a relief pitcher. He struck out Jayson Werth, but gave up two bases right after. Manager Bruce Bochy knew he wouldn't hold up long, did the right thing and pulled him out of the game. Then, the Closer Brian Wilson came in, and finished the job. With 2 outs in the 9th and two guys on base, Ryan Howard struck out, ending their season.
I'm actually bummed out that Roy Halladay and Tim Linceucm didn't live up to the expectations. As fans, we were expecting near perfect games from these guys. They were good, but not great. Actually seemed like Halladay struggled more then Lincecum.
OK, back to football.
So, the Saints aren't looking so well. Drew Brees threw 37 out of 56 passes for 356 yards, 2 touchdowns and 4 interceptions? Really? That's not like Brees. What gives? Chris Ivory can't cover for Reggie Bush. 15 carries for only 48 yards? Come on man. To make things worse, they lost at home. Unacceptable. It's not going to get any easier, as they have another home game next week, against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football.
I think Mike Singletary has officially lost his mind. The San Francisco 49ers are now 1-6 and he still claims they'll make the Playoffs! Your "franchise" QB, Alex Smith, went down with a sprained shoulder. The 49ers fans got a chance to see David Carr take the reigns. Nope, it didn't work. The Carolina Panthers earned their first win of the season.
What the fuck is wrong with Chicago? I thought they were legit in the NFC. Well, I take that back. They suck. Jay Cutler is overrated and so is Chicago. 4 INTs yesterdy? What kind of crap is that? One word: pathetic. And to the Redskins? They're not even a contending team. Well, I guess I shouldn't say that. Aside from the Falcons, there are no contenders in the NFC. DeAngelo Hall picked off Cutler three times yesterday too. Not to shabby.
Who did the Raiders play? From what I heard, it was supposed to be the Denver Broncos. It was a no brainer who was going to win this right from the beginning. Nobody expected the Raiders to put up 50+ points in Denver. Sucks for the Broncos. If you're down 21-0 within the first 12 minutes in a game, chances are you're going to lose.
Arron Rodgers finally defeated the man he replaced in Green Bay, a Mr. Brett Favre. The game was epic. Lots and lots of great, fantastic plays. Brett threw three INTs, all in the 2nd half. The Packer's Defense wanted to show the NFL world that they had what it takes to win the big games, and they didn't disappoint. Even though Favre was only sacked once, Clay Mathews and the Packers terrorized the Viking's Offense all night long. Maybe Arron Rodgers and Brett Favre can finally put this chapter to rest and move on.
Monday Night Football has the New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys. The Giants got off on a slow start, but they're emerging as the team to beat in the NFC. Dallas on the other hand, not so much. Dallas can't stop hurting their selves with stupid penalties. Example: After Roy Williams scored a TD against the Vikings last week, Miles Austin decided to play Leapfrog in front of the refs, getting a 15 yard penalty on the kickoff. How did that end up? A Vikings touchdown
That being said, expect a high scoring, hard hitting battle between the two. When the Cowboys opened their new home, Eli Manning and the Giants came in, won the game, and left their mark, literally.
I predict the Giants win on a game winning TD from Eli Manning (who is NOT overrated) to Hakeem Nicks.
Giants 28 Dallas 24
I hope you enjoyed the readin'. Tune in next week.
GO STEELERS!

Spike Lee talking to Carmelo
Little ****'s been talking to Carmelo about the Knicks (go figure)
Haha!
Let the protesting begin!
P.S: I support my Ben Roethlisberger!
Mini Hulk's Monday Madness Thread
So, I'm starting a new trend today. I'll post the topics, write about them, and you chat about it. I'll keep it to only three topics today, but I'll add more next week .You'll have new topics every week too, so I hope you're all excited. Plus, I'm going to college to be a writer, so I need practice.
Here are the topics for the day:
- Thoughts about the Steeler's latest game
- Weekly thoughts about teams in the NFL
- Mini Hulk's Monday Night Football preview
If you guys haven't already heard, the Pittsburgh Steelers won today against the Cleveland Browns 28-10. Ben Roethlisberger made his much anticipated season debut, and Steelers Nation faithful made him feel welcome. Here's the stats for Big Ben:
16-27/ 257 yards/ 1 interception. Not to shabby from Roethlisberger, although he would disagree with me.
He looked a bit rusty at first, (which was expected) but he shook off the butterflies and showed the world that a 4 game suspension wouldn't be an issue.
Aside from Ben being Ben, our running game was pretty good. Rashard Mendenhall and Issac Redman had a total of 33 carries for 115 yards. I don't think it would hurt to give Redman a couple more carries.
The receiving core seemed happy today. Mike Wallace had 3 catches for 90 yards and a TD. Hines Ward had 5 catches for 54 yards and a TD. Heath Miller only had two catches for 50 yards, but he too, had a TD.
Defense was pretty solid. They gave us a scare in the 4th quarter (as usual), but they got the job done. James Harrison had a couple "questionable hits" Here's the one on Cribbs:
It should be noted that plays like this should be avoided at all costs, but you can't really blame Harrison for the hit. It's not like he wanted to intentionally hurt Cribbs, and you can't stop something like this. It's just another unfortunate injury to a good player (one of Cleveland's only good players) He'll probably get a beautiful fine for the hits, so be on the lookout.
Can I say this: The San Diego Chargers suck right now. Seriously, what is going on over there? They were supposed to be the team representing the AFC in the Superbowl this year (accoring to NFL experts). Now look at them. Lost to the Chiefs, lost to the Raiders, lost to the Seahawks, now this. The St. Louis Rams? Don't get me wrong, the Rams deserve credit for the win. They were in the shit for the past couple of years, and they're playing good football. Not great, but good enough. (no wonder why my beloved Denver Nuggets are falling apart. Damn you Stan Kroenke!)
LaDainian Tomlinson looks flat out great. 16 carries for 55 yards, including two TDs, one being a game winning run. I can't get over the fact that the Chargers decided to let him go. Could you imagine a back field or Ryan Mathews and LaDainain Tomlinson? That would have been epic!
Cowboys won't make the Playoffs this year. No way in hell. Being 1-4 in a tough Division, where the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Washington Redskins are housed. It's only a matter of time before Wade Phillips get fired. All that hype about going to the Superbowl at home, only to play like crap.
Even though the San Fransisco Giants lost last night, the 49ers didn't follow. Yes, they won their first game of the year. At home against the Oakland Raiders. Everytime Alex Smith touched the ball, the fans booed, and they had every right to. Overthrown passes, getting sacked. Etc... Not sure how much longer the guy will survive there. As much as I like Alex Smith, he's proven to me one thing: he's inconsistent...VERY inconsistent.
I feel bad for Jay Cutler. After missing game due to an concussion, he comes back and gets sacked six more times. To make things worse, it was at home against the Seattle Seahawks. When the Bears played the NY Giants a couple of weeks ago, Cutler was sacked nine freaking times...in the first half. Last one resulted in a concussion. Can't believe the Bear's Offensive Line can't protect the guy. Doesn't help that he's holding the ball too long either.
Yeah Cutler, I don't get it either.
So, who's the best team in the NFC, exactly? Atlanta lost. Packers lost. Bears lost. Somebody needs to tell the NFC to stop sucking because it's getting ridiculous. Cold it be the Rams? NY Giants? New Orleans Saints? They have decent records...
As for tonight's game, Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars..anybody going to watch it? Does it really sound that exciting? I'm not a big fan of either team, so I'm going to watch the Rangers @ Yankees instead. (yeah, they're playing tomorrow night too) Keep an eye one Chris Johnson and Maurice Jones-Drew. Those two are going to run the ball like no other. Look for Cortland Finnegan's punches too. Dick likes throwing those. I'm sticking with my picking of Jacksonville to come out with the W
Well guys, that's about it. Hope you enjoyed it. GO STEELERS!
