The "let's sign Dwight Howard as a FA" thread
We can sign the guy outright next summer with a very small amount of maneuvering. His desire to come to Denver is nonexistent, but that doesn't mean I can't dream.
Possible budget FA C next summer... Oden
I feel like we could pick him up for cheap, at least when compared with Gasol or horford. For a rubuilding team, I dont see why its bad to have a high risk/reward guy on the roster like oden. Really, its a win-win situation, if he produces then you have yourself a good player, if he goes down the pick is higher.
Potential third teams in a melo trade.
I am probably not alone in thinking that the Nuggets will still trade Carmelo. The question is when and who do we get in return? Will there be a third team?
Solidify Our C - Golden State Of Mind
This is pretty funny. At least some of the commenters know its a load of crap.
Why all the "Melo for a bag of chips" trade ideas are a crock of sh*t
Lately us stiffs have been flooded with members of the Nets, Clippers and other team's fanbases coming here to tell us what they think melo is worth. Quite frankly, these people dont know what they are talking about. They are just irrational homers. I am going to compare melo trade ideas to both of the trades that completed Boston's Big three.
The case for Andris Biedrins
Andris Biedrins deserves a starting spot on this Nuggets team. He is the defensive minded center the nuggets need. At the moment, the Nuggets lack a true center. Some believe Nene is a center (I do not), but it would be impossible to deny how weak the rotation at the 5 spot is and that there is room for vast improvement. Andris and Nene could play alongside each other in a twin tower dual center configuration. This has worked well for many teams, including the NBA champions 5 of the past 7 years.
Andris is most likely available. He is under contract at exactly 9 million a year for the next 3 years with a player option for the fourth year. He had a horrible year last year and his value is artificially deflated by his horrendous free throw shooting, which means he can be pried away for pretty cheap. These trade proposals illustrate what I think a fair trade for both sides would be.
Can you name the 40+ point game in NBA since 99-00 season? (game)
I got 51, tell me what you get.
Trades and stuff 6.0
So it has been really slow around here lately and I have been toying around with the Trade machine. They are all somewhat realistic and involve taking on longer contracts. Anyway, tell me what you think. By the way, I hate the last one.
Arron Afflalo should be 1st Team All D
Judging by these advanced statistics he deserves a spot on at least one of the defensive teams.
Nene vs. Amar'e: a comparison.
Amare and nene are not so different, both missed 80 games in 05-06 and both played 82 games this past year. Amare is a 6'10" 250# PF who struggles at center. Nene is a 6'9" 260# PF who is a decent player at center. Both players can score in the paint, hit the midrange J and run the floor. One can play defense, and the other can rebound. Let's see a per30 minute statistical break down of the two:
Trade idea with Toronto, not for bosh (gasp!)
So, toronto is terrible, despite having the best pf in the leauge. And if the speculation is correct and bosh does leave, what will Toronto do? Sounds like rebuilding time to me. Toronto's management has made some mistakes in free agency, like giving hedo a long and expensive contract. I propose that the nuggets eat hedo's contract, but not for free
