Jets' Cromartie, wife expecting twins
10? Not so fast my friend... Cro and his wife expecting 11 & 12, apparently.
I know pipeline state is a recruiting term. A legacy is usually about 1 or 2 per generation... What do we call Cro's impact on the future of FSU sports if any of these little rascals get his athleticism?
Notre Dame to the ACC Thoughts/Idea (Saluting the heroes of Week 8 Gene Wojciechowski)
I'd like to point out point 14:
"Well, it's nice to see that Notre Dame is only a few dotted I's and crossed T's from joining the ACC as a full-time member. Like many of you, I can't wait until the big ND-North Carolina State game.
Oh, wait -- an ACC merger deal with the Irish isn't done yet? I'm confused.

Can John Swofford lure Notre Dame to the ACC? It remains to be seen.
Didn't ACC commish John Swofford recently and openly discuss a hypothetical involving the possible availability of Notre Dame? Hasn't Duke hoops coach Mike Krzyzewski all but given his powerful blessings to the move, but with one provision: ND has to agree to equal revenue sharing? Didn't NC State basketball coach Mark Gottfried, when discussing ACC expansion and the Irish, tell ESPN's Andy Katz, "I don't think this is over yet"?
So now the ACC is just waiting for the paperwork from Notre Dame and we're good to go, right?
Not exactly. But the ACC, which is getting a major blood transfusion from Big East defectors, remains the leader in the Notre Dame clubhouse -- if the Irish decide to give up their precious indie status.
The ACC will continue to do its expansion dance with UConn and Rutgers as the conference's 15th and 16th teams, but Notre Dame is its obvious prime target. Then UConn and Rutgers would have a death-cage match for the remaining ACC spot.
Don't know if you noticed, but the new athletic director at North Carolina is Bubba Cunningham, a Notre Dame grad and former ND associate AD.
Wake Forest president Nathan Hatch is a former Notre Dame provost and history professor. All three of his kids are ND grads.
Duke athletic director Kevin White came to Durham from -- wait for it -- Notre Dame.
Gene Corrigan, a former Notre Dame AD and former ACC commissioner, lives in ACC country (Charlottesville, Va.) and remains a valuable resource.
Those are a lot of dots to connect, but the point is this: Notre Dame will have a safe, comfortable academic and sports haven if it joins the ACC, especially if you divide the 16-team conference into something like this:
North: Notre Dame, Pitt, Syracuse, UConn, Maryland, Boston College, Virginia and Virgina Tech.
South: Duke, Carolina, Miami, Clemson, Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, Wake Forest and Florida State.
Truth is, ND's division is more Big East than ACC, which is what the Irish would prefer anyway. Major parts of their alumni base and recruiting are located in the Northeast markets.
Meanwhile, the Big East is doomed. Notre Dame, which is a member of the league in all sports but football, won't stick around for the wake. Combine that with a possible future change in the postseason football dynamic, and the Irish could be in options mode.
Equal revenue sharing? Sorry, I don't think ND is going to give up its NBC money. But some sort of transitional deal could be worked out with its new ACC brothers.
Resistance from ND traditionalists who want the school to keep its football independence? Sure, but nothing that ND athletic director Jack Swarbrick and ND president Rev. John Jenkins can't overcome."
Personally, I love the idea and those divisions. Notre Dame has to make a move because of these conferences growing and I think the ACC makes the most sense. Thoughts?
I got bored last night and put my own touch on some of the current 2011 FSU videos floating around. Let me know what y'all think, and GO NOLES!

Open Letter - Old vs New
A little back story, I recently moved to Minneapolis and started working full time post-college... My time trolling TN has been significantly cut back and I've been missing the community a ton. I've wanted to post a fan shot for a while as far as my feelings towards the program post Bowden, safely into the CJF era and after the 2010 season... The fact that the Twins are a massive disappointment and the NFL lockout isn't progressing at all, it seems like now is a good time to do so... I need something positive to think about right now... Enter the Florida State Seminoles and Coach Jimbo Fisher. What I've come up with are thoughts that most of you have regarding the program, so I feel as if I'm preaching to the choir, but I really need to get my thoughts on paper and into a forum of my peers.
Let me preface this by saying that I love Bobby Bowden. What he did for Florida State University won’t be replicated ever again in collegiate sports. He came in and revolutionized college football, transforming Florida State from a football team with the reputation of its past as an all girl’s school into a national powerhouse. What he did cannot go unnoticed or without praise, and I appreciate everything he did for my school... but just like Ali Larter said to James Van Der Beek in Varsity Blues, "things change, Mox." and boy did they change for the worse.
That being said, the past decade has been tumultuous to say the least as far as Florida State Football goes. The atmosphere grew stale in Tallahassee, the swagger was gone and the team on the field was uninspiring. Bobby had made some poor choices in coaching hires, instead of going out and finding up-and-coming, sought after coaches and coordinators, he hired members of his family and inner circle. Tallahassee was still ripe with top talent year after year, unfortunately the direction of those x’s and o’s was fractured and under qualified. Development was lacking and instruction was underwhelming. The team went from a National Title appearance in the 2000 season and degraded into an unorganized mess of a team. Some may not consider 8-5 and 7-6 an unorganized mess of a team when you consider some of its ACC competition, but for what FSU was, it was a massive disappointment.
Continue on and hit the jump if you care to read my thoughts on the Noles.

White Sox win claim on Manny Ramirez
Via MLB Trade Rumors...
The White Sox and Dodgers, who have already discussed possible trades, have until Tuesday to work out a deal. Ramirez has a no-trade clause, which will give him the power to veto a deal if the Dodgers plan to make one. However, he has told friends that he would approve a trade to the White Sox, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.
What does this mean for the Twins down the stretch?
A Fellow Nole Needs Your Help!
Hey guys, I'm up for a contest over at SBNation affiliate Twinkie Town (Minnesota Twins Blog). I could really use your help voting for my submission so I can win the contest for a great piece of Twins art. My submission is The Life and Times of a Lifetime Displaced Minnesota Twins Fan by Moojenowski. Help out a fellow Nole, I know that the community here could push me over the top and help me take the prize!
The Life and Times of a Lifetime Displaced Minnesota Twins Fan.
Some People love their kids, some people love their pets, some people love cupcakes, I love the Minnesota Twins. I am the definition of die-hard. My bedroom in college was decorated like any 12 year old Minnesotan’s, covered in Twins memorabilia. All I was missing was Twins wallpaper and a Joe Mauer comforter (which would not have been healthy for a 23 year old male).
On November 20, 1986 I was born a diehard Twins fan. Though I don’t remember it at all, photographic evidence has shown I witnessed the Twins win their first championship. At a young age seeing this made my love for the Twins even stronger. The Twins have always shown everything that is great about baseball. They swing for the fence, chase down every foul ball and grind out every win... endless amounts of grit. They allow the likes of Mike Redmond, Hank Blanco, Matty LeCroy, and Jim Jam Tater Salad round second and slide into third (when all four could easily be thrown out at first by Jay Buhner in right field, at any time in their career). They’ve embraced the Lew Fords of the world, they remind us that walks will haunt like the ghost of Christmas Past, and they are not afraid to throw out the hardest swinging outfield in baseball (the first soul patrol). The voice of Darth Vader once said that one thing will remain constant, "Baseball, Ray," and with the Twins we can all depend on a team that hustles, plays sound defense, and can grow some damn good facial hair.

"The same people who mocked and ridiculed FSU’s fall from greatness are the same ones who rail about the injustice of the way Coach Bowden was treated at the end. What they’re saying is, You Suck, but You’re Not Allowed To Change A Thing."
I cannot count how many times this quote applies to what people outside of FSU football have told me, this is absolutely perfect.

Dodgers Preparing For Trade Talks With White Sox
From MLB Trade Rumors:
"The Dodgers are preparing for trade talks with the White Sox, according to Toni Ginnetti of the Chicago Sun-Times. The Dodgers are reviewing scouting reports on some of Chicago’s minor leaguers, since the White Sox have previously shown interest in Manny Ramirez, who hit the waiver wire today. Ginnetti reports that the Dodgers "appeared to be trying to negotiate a trade" instead of handing Ramirez and his salary over."
I still think we can take the White Sox for the Central, but this is going to make it all that tougher if it happens.
"'I've even thought of telling guys, `hey Thornton, smoke Mauer, see if you can start a fight.'' Nieves said. ``We're not afraid of anybody.''
Mustaches = Twins Success
With the All-Star Break upon us, and the Twins tripping all over themselves going into the break (Seriously, Punto, pick up your feet when you run), I think its time to relax, crack a beer, and ponder the important things (facial hair, bacon, patriotism, etc...).
As I laid around watching the Twins game today, watching Big Mustache deal to the Tigers, I was shocked to see Cuddy sporting a Fu Man Chu... Pavstache went 7.2, solid all around effort right when the team needed it the most. Ghengis Cuddyer went 2 for 3 with 2 BB, 2 RBIs and 1 R, solid day for Mustache #2.
It is now 8:30 EST and Anthony Slama is on the bump in the future games and what do we see on the upper lip? Yes, lip sweater blaring as he strikes out the batter to end the inning.
Is it time for the rest of the Twins to man up and grow some mustaches during the break? I think so.
I'm not going to lie, I can grow a pretty solid mustache for being 23 years old (I currently have had one a week longer than Pavano). I also feel like more of a man than most my age that wander Florida State's campus, regardless of how much time they spend in the gym... They don't offer the lip wisdom I have. I'll devote a handful of months yearly to growing mustaches for various reasons, mainly to be awesome.
I don't think that anyone can argue that the mustache has been detrimental to any baseball player, ever. Some could even consider it a performance enhancing device. Let us run down the Twins that are able to grow facial hair and what kind of boost in their play we could see.
Joe Mauer has been slumping, this is not news to any Twins fan. Would this Joe Mauer slump?
I think not. We're looking at career numbers with this Mauer.
Morneau is currently sidelined with concussion symptoms...
I'm sorry, but that Morneau only hands out concussions. Lumberjack Morneau is a perennial MVP with the ladies, too.
There is no doubt in my mind that Punto should grow out nasty mutton chops that connect to a Fu Man Chu, Hardy needs to round out the left side with a Magnum P.I. Stache.
As far as the starters go, Blackburn seems to be the most likely candidate for a facial hair make over. He has shown he has the skill to grow a solid face garden, but lets just see it contained on the upper lip. He could rival Pavano's and I'm sure his ERA would drift down into the low 4's as well has developing a knack to strike out batters looking (at his stache), finally bringing his K numbers to where they should be.
Rauch needs to cap off the MMA look with some sort of nasty beard, I refuse to make any suggestions because he'll trace my IP address and hunt me down if he doesn't agree with me.
Dan Haren can grow quite the neckbeard... think about it. I'm not sure what Roy Oswalt can bring to the table as far as facial hair goes... but I'd just be happy to have him at the table with a fake mustache.
That's just a small look at our Twins and the facial hair conundrum. So, what do you think? Do we need more facial hair? Suggestions, photoshops of players with 'staches, thoughts on bacon?

Source: Lee trade talks get 'Interesting' with Twins
Heyman weighs in on some recent news that blew up all over MLB Network tonight.
I'm currently watching the KC/Seattle game to see if they break any news.
Keanu and Tebow react to UF's early departure at the College World Series thanks to a strong performance by the Noles.
I made this earlier tonight, fits in well with the whole sad Keanu thing going all over the web right now.
I thought I'd show the bar that we put into our house when we bought it up here in Tallahassee almost three years ago. My roommate is moving out and decided to take some video of it last night before he left. It's all decked out in FSU colors, we've had some great times post gaming there on gamedays and watching away games down there as well.
NCAA 11 to have authentic team entrances
More news on the next installment of the EA Sports NCAA Football franchise has been released which details the inclusion of team specific entrances. FSU is included, but they do not go into detail on their entrance. Continue on to the link for more information and a short teaser with some entrances highlighted.
Being a huge fan of this franchise for a long time and pretty hardcore NCAA Football gamer, I can't help but get even more excited for the July release. I'm really hoping for Chief Osceola and Renegade to make an appearance with the spear throw.
Panoramic shot from the halftime flag football game of the April 10, 2010 FSU Spring game... how are you going to put Peter Warrick and Kez McCorvey on the same team?
