Royals Review John Bale...

I was wondering what everyone else thought about Bale.  How many starts does he deserve before we talk of moving him?  Either back to the bullpen or what have you.  I would really like to see either Hoch or Davies get a shot at taking his spot and move him back to the bullpen.  Nomo hasn't made sense to be on the team since day one.  I really thought he was supposed to just be a buddy to Yabuta?  I don't know, I just think that he looked lost last night and wondered what the cutoff period may be.

Royals Review E(astern)SPN

I didn't know if anyone else out there saw sports center today at 5 but it was a little comical to me.  First off the Royals sweeping the Tigers was of course the Tigers fault according to the hosts of the show.  They wanted to talk more about Cabrera being out and Shef getting hurt than on our beloved Royals actually sweeping the 2008 WS Champions.  What really made me angry though was the discussion that the two had at the end on the Royals (I didn't pay attention to who they were by the way).  One of the guys asks the others what he thinks about the "unknown" Royals chances of being competitive this year.  The response?  "Absolutely zero"  What the hell?  On one side of your mouth you say the unknown Royals, and then on the other you say they don't have a chance of being competitive.  When do you think these schmucks that make a living off of following sports will actually start to look at teams and judge by that instead of what the traditional bag on the Royals says.  I just don't get it...

Royals Review The Flu

Reading the star this morning, I saw this article about the Royals game http://www.kansascity.com/sports/story/508941.html

For someone who had the flu and threw up right after his 2 innnings I think he did a damn good job.  If this is how Hochevar pitches with the flu I think we should consider injecting him with it before every game.  Is this illegal yet?

Royals Review Why the Royals will win the AL Central in 08'

I have this ritual in the mornings that I always go to the Star's website to read what is going on with my beloved teams.  Then right afterwards I come here to read about what everyone thinks about these subjects.  I was really surprised that no one had posted a diary about JoPo's aticle today... here it is

http://www.kansascity.com/180/story/500147.html

To tell you the truth I was also very excited to have my first opportunity to post my first diary on this site.  I have always really enjoyed this yearly article from Joe.  I love my Royals and I like to carry hope into each season.  But I was really shocked at one comment made by a scout to be named, here it is:

Scout: Brian Bannister is going to win 15 games. Zack Greinke is going to win 15 games. Brett Tomko is going to win 15 games. How many wins is that?

My first reaction of course was Brian Bannister, eh... Greinke, I can definetely see winning 15.  BRETT TOMKO?!?!?!  Who the heck thinks he is going to win 15 games?  This must be a joke!  So I ignored it and read on...  But then I read this...

Scout: Yes, I think Brett Tomko will win 15 games. I said it. Write it down.

First off this "Scout" didn't even mention Meche... I think this could have been very credible had he said Meche.  I quite frankly am a little disturbed that we have a scout that thinks that Tomko is going to win 15 games this year.  I was puzzled at the Royals signing him and could only think that DM wants him to plug a few holes until some of our prospects are ready.  I didn't realize people on the inside thought that he could win 15.  So my diary here is to see what others think of this and what they expect from Tomko.
