Relax Rip City, it's not over yet- and here's why

Relax Rip City, it’s not over yet, and here’s why… Remember that First Round series against the Rockets? It was a nightly nail biting, heart stopping, up and down, back and forth, ridiculously...

Game 5- If Portland can close the 4th quarter they can close the series

Toss out the scrambling, wild, and unforgettable sequences that have culminated at the end of almost every game. Forget the officiating that may or may not have impacted the outcome of otherwise...

Game 4- The Things Portland can do to head to Texas up 3-1

Houston wanted Portland. Portland wanted to be back in the playoffs. The media wanted Houston to win in 6, maybe 7 games. The fans wanted a great series. As of now only the fans and Portland are...

Blazers, Rockets, and the rest- what the numbers actually say about the Western Conference playoff teams

If numbers could talk, would you listen? While it’s just a stupid headline, it’s pretty much what was on my mind as I dug into the research concerned with this piece. There’s been more than enough...

What does the future hold for Mo Williams and the Blazers

A quick glimpse at next years FA PG and sixth men candidates and how that may impact the Blazers decision making.

Can you name 4 better back up PGs than Mo Williams?

Is Mo Williams the best back up PG in the NBA? That’s the question I asked myself after the recent comments from Dwight Jaynes: "But as of Thursday morning, Williams' net off-the-court rating --...

Bogut, Lee, Thompson- Aldridge and Matthews... Dwightmare in GS?

I was looking at the rumor wire this morning... maybe we don't take that awful David Lee/Brandon Rush deal for LaMarcus. However, if Dwight was to sign in Golden State- what about sending LMA, and... lists perfect fits for lottery picks- Portland not listed

By now, you've read mock draft upon mock draft projecting what each NBA team will do with its pick. "But now, we'll give you 12 matches made in heaven. Twelve ideal fits. Twelve teams that could have fairly easy decisions when they get on the clock to make their selection. We start it off with Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Chris Grant, who has the unenviable task of selecting first overall this year."-- Kind of an interesting note - picks 2, 4, 7, and 10 are excluded from the "perfect fit" list. Players linked to Portland: Pick: No. 5 Phoenix -- Victor Oladipo The Suns need just about everything, so new general manager Ryan McDonough has a daunting task. McDonough was a major reason why the Celtics drafted athletic guards Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley when he was working for Danny Ainge in Boston. Look for him to grab Oladipo – if he's still on the board. Oladipo is a freak athlete who can set the tone for the franchise on the defensive end, from a work ethic standpoint and also as a leader. He may not be a future star, but he can be a major piece of a rebuilding puzzle in Phoenix. The question here is whether Oladipo is still around at No. 5. Pick: No. 8 Detroit -- Michael Carter-Williams The Pistons need a true point guard, especially if free agent Jose Calderon doesn't re-sign. Brandon Knight is simply more of an undersized 2-guard. Carter-Williams is exceptionally talented and actually could play alongside Knight in the backcourt and not hurt Detroit defensively due to his length. The pair would complement one another extremely well. Detroit possesses a couple of quality young big men in Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe, but the Pistons need someone who can make their lives easier. MCW is loose with the ball at times, but he has the length to see over defenders, the speed to turn the corner and the court vision to find teammates. Pick: No. 9 Minnesota -- Kentavious Caldwell-Pope The Timberwolves swung and missed with a long wing three years ago when they took Wesley Johnson, but Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio desperately need someone who can help by making shots on the perimeter. Right now it's too easy for opposing teams to key on Love (when he's healthy) and double-team him every time he touches the ball. Minnesota needs a long-range threat. Caldwell-Pope is long and can shoot it from deep, but he isn't a one-dimensional offensive player, either. He can put it on the floor and is also an above-average defender.

Perfect storm? Oladipo, the Cavs, and Andre Igoudala

With news breaking of the the blazers "interest" in moving up to snag Victor Oladipo it got me thinking of the possibilities. When you look at the range that Oldadipo is projected in- I'd say its a...
