Dear Cleveland......
Jeff Van Gundy Anyone...?
All ive been hearing these past two weeks is if Phil does step down, then the replacements must either be Shaw/Scott. I dont agree with either of these two. Scott is a great coach but his teams have always been PG driven teams, and he needs a ball dominating PG to be successful and i dont think Fish is capable of doing so. Brian Shaw I also think would be a great coach but in my opinion its too early for him. I say we try and lure JVG away from his cozy ESPN broadcasting seat to come coach the greatest Franchise in sports. He has been one of the best defensive coaches of the past 2 decades, and his post offense suits what we do. I think it would be a great hire should Phil leave.

I Dont Think Phil Will Be Back Next Year...
Yea i get how Lakers give Phil the best chance to win another Ring, yea i get that his girlfriend works for The Lakers, and i also get that Phil has spent a good portion of his life in L.A(10 Years), but has it ever felt like Phil was a "Laker Coach"? My answer is No, dont get me wrong the guy is a genieus he has 10 Rings and we probably wouldnt have 4 Championships in the past decade if it wasnt for him. I just get the feeling that Phil doesnt like it here, he doesnt like the media, he doesnt like the smog, he doesnt like that the players dont listen to him anymore.
Remember Pat Riley? Remember how embraced The Lakers, and Los Angeles, he was(im ny opinion), just a sports figure as Magic was. Him and his slick backed hair, he carried himself in a way that Los Angelians(?) could relate to. He had a swagger about him and his team, he had a great relationship with everyone that played for him, and he loved the city. I loved Pat Riley, there i said it.
With Phil its been a different feeling, maybe its just me but i get the feeling that its always been about business with Phil and The Lakers. I never got the feeling that he loved being here and coaching this team, just loved winning the Championships. When he was in Chicago he showed emotion, and his Post-Championship celebrations seemed to be real emotional and deep.
I appreciate Phil and everything hes brought to our beloved Lakers, but i dont think cares about the Los Angeles fans, the City, and the Players as much as he cares about winning his Rings. If i was a betting man(and i am) i would put my money that he goes back to Chicago.
Well were all thinking about it aren't we?
Can someone explain tell me if ANYTHING Ron said in this interview made sense?
