If You Can't Beat 'Em, Become Them?

As all the major off-season moves and speculation come to an end and spring training draws nearer and nearer, Halo fans float in a limbo of realism and optimism for this upcoming year. I'm here to...

Tanaka Reportedly Getting Posted

The moment all of baseball has been waiting for has been announced on Christmas Eve none the less, Masahiro Tanaka will be posted! This, I'm assuming, must be the Angels number one target and very...

Angels interested in Eric Chavez

83

Hooray! Chavez would be an awesome move. Wouldn't mind a Jimenez/Green and Chavez platoon

Marlins looking into Trumbo

23

Everyone's favorite baseball mind Jim Bowden! Marlins are a perfect fit for Trumbo in my opinion. They have terrific minor league pitching depth and I would love to see the Angels pick from a collection of Andrew Heaney, Justin Nicolino, Adam Conley, Nathan Eovaldi, Brian Flynn, AJ Ramos, Dan Jennings, etc. Maybe Trumbo and Iannetta for Flynn, Eovaldi, and Ramos? Or Trumbo for Heaney include Iannetta for a bullpen arm.

A Sign of Things to Come

As just about every actual fan in baseball knows, the Angels farm system is abysmal. However there are a couple reasons to look forward to the names I'll briefly bring up, namely because it shows...

The Japanese Mosiah?

As I'm sure all of you have heard by now, the Angels have sent a scout to watch Japanese phenom Masahiro Tanaka. While this is just a minor update and could just be precautionary, this could be...

Interesting Trout interview

2

I think it's cool he doesn't use video that much

Angels go for winning the offseason a third time!

6

This has got to be a joke considering Cafardo never passes along any viable info. But fingers crossed it doesn't happen

Pujols likely headed to DL

38

It's about time, wish they did this earlier. It's Calhoun time in LA though

Kaleb Cowart's ST stats

2

Anybody else impressed with Cowart this spring? If his plate discipline continues to improve and his power develops like scouts think it will, I think we have a Chase Headley 2.0 on our team

Angels Opening Day Roster (lineup)

8

1. Trout CF 2. Aybar SS 3. Pujols 1B 4. Hamilton RF 5. Trumbo LF 6. Kendrick 2B 7. Callaspo 3B 8. Iannetta C 9. Weaver P Bench: Romine, Harris, Shuck, and Conger Bullpen: Williams, Richards, Lowe, Jepsen, Burnett, Downs, and Frieri Let the games begin

Angels acquire Elvin Ramirez

+

Mark Lowe, Dane De La Rosa, and Elvin Ramirez today, hopefully nice a surprise in there

Angels like Snyder and Hernandez

52

I'm kinda half and half on getting a new backup but I'd rather have Kottaras or Hernandez than Snyder

Some more reason to like Cordero

3

The more and more I hear about him, the more I love him

Bourjos in "the mix for playing time"

135

No Sosh, Bourjos is the starter until proven that he can't play everyday. I brought this point up in a fanpost I wrote last year, as long as Wells is on the team, he is temptation for Soth. I get the idea as having him as depth, but if he starts taking playing time away from Bourjos, he needs to be gone

Some confidence in the pitching

1

As spring training begins and opening day comes closer and closer everyday, projections and opinions will be thrown everywhere. The main area of concern for the 2013 Angels is the rotation. But I was thinking, the year the Angels won the World Series, they had a rotation of, ace Jarrod Washburn, Kevin Appier, John Lackey, Ramon Ortiz, and Aaron Sele. Not exactly a rotation that sets the world on fire, if Hanson and Wilson bounce, and Vargas can pitch effectively, I think the Angels will be beyond fine.

Mariners DFA Carp

4

Let's pick him up and have a fish combo.

Angels exploring TWO year deal with Callaspo

44

Makes a lot of sense, if Cowart can't emerge as an everyday third baseman

Grichuk invited to big league camp

1

Good for him! I really like his upside and he made a lot of improvements last season (health was also key.) If he can continue to improve his plate discipline and cut down the strike outs a little bit, I don't see why he couldn't develop into an everyday player. But I'm rooting for him, besides Cowart, this is the only position player prospect I'm excited about.

Angels interested in...Saunders???

This must mean they WERE interested in him

The Angels Offseason: Are They Done Yet?

The Angels have, in my opinion, addressed their needs heading into the offseason. They've definitely helped the bullpen woes with Burnett and Madson. They've filled in the starting rotation with...

Punto available

Not a splashy move, but I'd take Punto over Romine

Great way to keep the offseason rolling!

Angels interested in Madson

Interesting, might become too expensive but I would love this move
