2012 NFL Draft - Round 7 Open Thread
Final round of what has been a very interesting draft so far for the NFL and Baltimore Ravens. So far, Ozzie has blessed our roster with the likes of...
- Courtney Upshaw DE/OLB Alabama
- Kelechi Osemele OT/OG Iowa St.
- Bernard Pierce RB Temple
- Gino Gradkowski OC Delaware
- Christian Thompson FS South Carolina St.
- Asa Jackson CB Cal-Poly
- Tommy Streeter WR The U
The Ravens final pick will come in the 7th round at the 236th spot.
With the 198th Pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, The Baltimore Ravens Select...
Tommy Streeter - WR - 6'5" 215 lbs - The U
Streeter did very little during his first two seasons at Miami. In fact, he caught just six total passes in those two years while making one start. The speedy wideout erupted in 2011. He started eight games and finished with 46 receptions for 811 yards and eight touchdowns. Against Virginia he hauled in seven passes for 176 yards. Streeter averaged 17.6 yards per catch, which led the ACC among receivers with at least 40 receptions. The breakout campaign convinced him to leave school early and enter the NFL.
The Miami, FL native is blessed with an incredible blend of size and speed. He registers at 6'5'' and 215 pounds. He generally runs in the 4.4s of the 40-yard dash and he has been clocked as fast as 4.38 from that distance. Streeter is especially dangerous running "go" routes and he has an uncanny ability to go up and snag the ball in traffic. He has reliable hands for the most part, although he often catches it with his body rather than his hands. Streeter does not have a ton of experience and his route-running can be improved. His upside, of course, is tremendous given his physical attributes. He will almost certainly be an enticing red-zone target at the next level. Based on potential, Streeter should be off the board no later than the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
Streeter not only brings much needed height to our offense, but is one of the best deep threats in this draft given his size and speed combination.

2012 NFL Draft - Round 6 Open Thread
So far so good for Ozzie. Bringing in good football players, filling holes, and staying true to his board as we expect.
- Courtney Upshaw DE/OLB Alabama
- Kelechi Osemele OT/OG Iowa St.
- Bernard Pierce RB Temple
- Gino Gradkowski OC Delaware
- Christian Thompson FS South Carolina St.
- Asa Jackson CB Cal-Poly
Ravens next pick is 198th.
With the 169th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, The Baltimore Ravens Select...
Asa Jackson - CB - Cal Poly
Good athletic ability, can return kicks in addition to playing corner… Is quick and has decent hips, can flip his hips and can get to a spot in a hurry… Shows good backpedal in man coverage… Can make plays on the football in the air… Shows promise in both man or zone coverage, does a
good job of understanding his responsibilities; looks better in zone coverage, does a good job of making reads high to the underneath route, this shows when he breaks off the deep route to make a play underneath… Does show promise in man coverage, and should continue to get better.
Ozzie picks up a guy to compete in the return game as well as fill in the holes left by Foxworth and Carr.

2012 NFL Draft - Round 5 Open Thread
Baltimore has filled major needs so far with great depth picks. In the 4th round, Ozzie used both his picks on OC Gino Gradkowski and FS Christian Thompson. So far, our draft looks like this.
- Courtney Upshaw OLB Alabama
- Kelechi Osemele OG Iowa St.
- Bernard Pierce RB Temple
- Gino Gradkowski OC Delaware
- Christian Thompson FS South Carolina St.
The next pick for Baltimore is 169th after Baltimore traded their original 5th round pick (164th) to Atlanta in the trade up for Bernard Pierce.
With the 130th Pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, The Baltimore Ravens Select...
Christian Thompson - FS - South Carolina St.
After losing Zbikowski and Nakamura, Ozzie reloads the Safety position with the selection of the small school product in Christian Thompson.
It should have been an indication to us when Thompson said that he has been getting advice from our own Ed Reed.
With the 98th Pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens Select....
Gino Gradkowski - OG/OC - University of Delaware
With Baltimore's 1st of two 4th round picks, Ozzie Newsome adds even more depth to the O-Line and a possible replacement to Matt Birk.
Check out this interview with Gradkowski with Aaron Wilson.
Our next pick is 130th.
2012 NFL Draft - Round 4 Open Thread
Baltimore starts the 3rd and final day of the draft at only 3 picks into the 4th round after making a trade with the Minnesota Vikings to move down to pick 35 overall.
Ozzie Newsome has already found value in each round and filled some needs while obviously taking his best player on his board. Your knew Ravens as of now are
- Courtney Upshaw - DE/OLB - Alabama
- Kelechi Osemele - OT/OG - Iowa St.
- Bernard Pierce - RB - Temple
So who will be next? We currently hold the 98th and 130th pick in round 4. There is still a ton of talent out there.

Mr MaLoR's 3 Round Mock Draft
- I saved about 30 of the best mocks from this site and went through each one to determine which teams wanted what mostly by reading the comments on each post.
- I was tired of seeing the same mocks each time, so I switched it up a bit.
- I tried to balance need with BPA, went strictly off my top 100.
- Constructive comments are welcomed, sorry if you hate your picks. In my opinion, each one made was in it's best interest. Thanks

Very good utility Lineman to keep Peyton on his feet. |

Shady is a stud, but is Dion Lewis? Polk is a quality back. |

Wake Forrest |
Meachem left town for San Diego, Givens is a quality replacement. |

Orson Charles |

Just another athletic freak for Rodgers to throw to. |
| 93 | ![]() |
Josh LeRibeus |
OG |
Southern Methodist |
Not being able to grab a Guard in the 1st two rounds, Ozzie picks up LeRibeus to compete with Jah Reid and others for Grubbs' old spot. |
| 94 | ![]() |
Ladarius Green |
TE |
Louisiana-Lafayette |
Maybe the steal of the 3rd round. Green could turn into a massive WR given how fast he is. Little Harbs loads up on trench players and play makers in this draft. |
| 95 | ![]() |
Senio Kelemete |
OG |
Washington |
Quality depth to keep Brady upright. |

Robert Turbin |
RB |
Utah St. |
Turbin is flying up draft boards. His size and power cannot be ignored, and he would fill the hole left by Jacobs. |

6.
(198th) - Hebron Fangupo - DT - 6'1" 323 lbs - Brigham Young
Notes on the picks
Mark Barron
- We all know Ozzie has his eyes closely watching every Bama player. Barron is a ball hawking, heavy hitting Safety who would of course be the successor to Ed Reed once he decides to hang it up.
- 2012 NFL Combine - First Draft
- 2011 Highlights
- vs. LSU 2011
- vs. PSU 2011
- 2010 Season Draft Analysis
Ronnell Lewis
- In my opinion, the hardest hitter in this draft. First time I actually noticed Smith was on a Special Teams play during a game where he just leveled the returner. This is Ozzie's kind of player. Tough as hell and likes to hit people. Played DE and OLB at Oklahoma, but I could very well see him making the transition to ILB after Ray Lewis is done.
- 2012 NFL Combine - Workout
- "The Hammer"
- 2010-2011 Highlights
Brandon Washington
- Ozzie moves up a few spots in the 3rd round to grab the massive Guard from The U. Durable player with a ton of experience while at Miami. Reminds me alot of fellow Miami O-Lineman, Vernon Carey. Much of RB Lamar Miller's success in 2011 came from running behind Washington
- 2012 NFL Combine - Workout
T.Y. Hilton
- Hilton is a smaller WR who would compete for the return duties on both punts and kicks while also adding to Cam Cameron's vertical passing game.
- 2011 Highlights
Audie Cole
- Cole is one of the more unheralded LB's in this draft. Smart player who was a stand out for The Wolfpack.
- 2012 NFL Combine - Workout
- vs. Louisville 2011
- vs. Cincinatti 2011
Tom Compton
- Big LT from small school South Dakota. Started every game for SDU since 2008 at both Right Tackle and Left Tackle. Has the frame to play LT in the NFL.
- 2012 NFL Combine - Workout
Hebron Fangupo
- One of the steals of the 2012 NFL Draft. There really isn't much depth behind NT Terrence Cody at the moment, especially if Brandon McKinney goes elsewhere. Fangupo was a stand out at BYU. Ozzie type of guy.
- 2012 NFL Combine - Workout
- 2011 Highlights
- Career BYU Highlights (21 minutes long)

2.
(60th) - Ronnell Lewis - OLB - 6'2" 253 lbs - Oklahoma

4.

Baltimore Ravens Mock Draft Scenario #1
Trades (All based on 2012 trade value chart)
- - Baltimore’s 1st (29th) and 3rd (91st) for Detroit’s 1st (23rd)
- - Baltimore’s 2nd (60th) for Washington’s 3rd (69th) and 4th (109th)
1.
(23rd from Detroit) - Cordy Glenn - OG - 6'4" 345 lbs - Georgia
3.
(69th from Wash) - Brian Quick - WR - 6'4" 220 lbs - Appalachian St.
4.
(109th from Wash) - Kheeston Randall - DT - 6'5" 293 lbs - Texas
4.
(130th Comp) - Devon Wylie - WR - 5'9" 187 lbs - Fresno St.
5.
(164th ) - Emmanuel Acho - OLB - 6'2" 238 lbs - Texas
5.
(169th Comp) - David Molk - OC - 6'1" 298 lbs - Michigan
6.
(198th) - Justin Bethel - CB - 6'0" 200 lbs - Presbyterian
7.
(236th) - Duke Ihenacho - SS - 6'0" 213lbs - San Jose St.
Notes on the picks.
Cordy Glenn
- Ozzie sees one of the best athletes in the draft and someone who could start right away at LG and possibly even move to LT in the future, and in the end jumps ahead of Pittsburgh to grab him.
- 2012 NFL Combine - Workout
- 2012 NFL Combine - First Draft
- 2012 NFL Combine - Interview
- vs. Boise St. 2011
- vs. LSU 2011
- vs. South Carolina 2010
- 2010 season
Brian Quick
- After moving out of the 2nd round so that Washington can continue to deplete their poor roster and upset the fan even more, Ozzie goes after the small school, yet tall WR to help in the redzone while also picking back up a 3rd round pick and extra 4th round
- 2012 NFL Combine - Workout
- 2012 Highlights
- vs Elon 2011
- vs. Virginia Tech 2011
- vs. Maine 2011
- 2012 Senior Bowl Practice
Kheeston Randall
- Using the 4th round pick from Washington, this one might be one of Ozzie's BPA picks that could provide depth at DE after losing Cory Redding. Randall is one of the brightest and most dedicated players in the 2012 draft, and everything about his performance on and off the field screams Ozzie Newsome steal.
- 2012 NFL Combine - Workout
- 2010 season
- College Football Performance Awards interview
Devon Wylie
- One of my absolute favorite players in this draft. Baltimore needs a return man? Here he is. Baltimore needs a special teams standout? Here he is. Wylie is a fearless WR in the mold of Wes Welker. He is a "do-it-all" type of player who I think Ozzie would love to get his hands on with our 4th round compensatory pick.
- 2012 NFL Combine - Workout
- 2012 NFL Combine - Interview
- Career at Fresno St. (maybe the best highlight video out there of any player)
Emmanuel Acho
- Another Texas defensive player to help add depth to LB. Acho played OLB at Texas, but I could very well see him making the move inside in the NFL.
- 2012 NFL Combine - Workout
David Molk
- Molk's name got out there after he lead the 2012 NFL Combine in bench presses for O-Lineman (40). With Matt Birk nearing the end of his career, Molk would be a perfect player to sit behind Birk and observe to possibly take over the starting role at Center in a year or two.
- Training Video
- Michigan Video Feature
Justin Bethel
- Here is your small school prospect. Tall bodied CB who had a hell of a 2011 season for Presbyterian.
- Interview and Highlights
Duke Ihenacho
- Good player to add for depth at Safety after losing both Zbi and Ruki to free agency. Not the fastest DB out there, but a heavy hitter who could bring a Special Teams role.
- 2012 NFL Combine - Workout
- vs. Utah State 2011
- vs. Idaho 2011

Mocking The Draft 7 Round Live Mock Results - Baltimore Ravens
The 2012 draft season has officially begun and SB Nation's great draft site, Mocking The Draft, has launched some terrific coverage of every player and team that you need to know about for the upcoming 2012 NFL draft. To go along with these prospect rankings, tons of mocks and team needs evaluations, representatives from all 32 NFL sites participated in a 7 round live mock draft. Here are a few helpful links used throughout the draft to keep track of trades and which players were picked.

Results for the Baltimore Ravens.
Round 1 (Pick 29) - Vontaze Burfict - ILB - Arizona State - 6'3" 245 lbs
- This is a common mocked pick for Baltimore, but it is also one that makes sense. Some see Burfict as a 2nd or 3rd round prospect, but others see him as a sure fire 1st round pick. Watching Burfict play, you can see why so many think he could be the heir apparent to Ray Lewis. With players such as Alshon Jeffrey, Mark Barron, Whitney Mercilus, Peter Konz and Donta Hightower chosen before the 29th pick, this was a no-brainer with really no better players left that have as much first round potential as Burfict does.
