Your quick rundown of Marquette's 2012 recruiting class on National Signing Day

Buzz Gets His Big Man

Marquette finds a new big man

Ok, This is Getting Ridiculous

We all know this whole conference shuffle thing is bad for the Big East. But apparently the absurdity reached new heights today. After seemingly reaching an agreement to add West Virginia to the fold, the Big 12 balked today because they reportedly can't decide if they'd rather have WVU or Louisville. I mean it's bad enough when other conferences come to raid your schools, but to have them openly quarreling over which one they want seems to be an even bigger slap in the face. So as Marquette fans, who would you rather lose: longtime nemesis Louisville or recent nemesis West Virginia (featuring mortal enemy Bob Huggins)?

It's MADNESS TIME! Ready or not college hoops season is here!

Auguste Chooses Notre Dame

In news that broke 3 days ago, but I haven't gotten a chance to post about until now, Marquette recruiting target Zach Auguste has chosen to play his college hoops at Notre Dame. As we mentioned, Marquette had made the 6'9" power forward a very high priority as they look to round out the 2012 recruiting class. Auguste narrowed his list to four, and Marquette was one of those four. Ironically, Notre Dame was not one of those four. But apparently Mike Brey was not going to be deterred, and never let up in his pursuit of the big man. So Zach, we wish you well at ND. And we hope to hand you at least one loss a year for each of the next four years (Or for as long as our conference continues to exist).

So You Want to Sign a Big Man? Apparently so does Buzz.

A recruiting post, better late than never

Marquette Gets 2013 Commitment

Deonte Burton chooses Marquette.

Marquette Lands 2012 Recruit

Word in the hood (and by "the hood" I of course mean Twitter), is that Marquette has gained a commitment from Chicago SF Steve Taylor.. Evan Daniels of has reported that Taylor will be entering the flock next year. Taylor projects as a standard issue, multi-faceted forward that Buzz Williams loves. He chose MU over Missouri, Depaul, Southern Illinois, Xavier and others.

The Milwaukee Pro-Am. A hoops junkie's mid-summer fix.

Anonymous Eagle Loses a Nemesis

I just heard that long time Marquette hater and AE Twitter nemesis, Doug Russell, got the ax from WSSP. Personally, I didn't listen to Doug's show all that frequently. Like most programming on SSP, it tends to make my brain hurt with its idiocy. But when I did listen, I could usually tolerate it in small doses as long as they weren't discussing MU. I will, however, miss Doug having a public platform from which to rile up Rubie Q, which always led to some highly entertaining banter on the Twitter. Vaya con dios Doug Russell.

Gary Williams Steps Down at Maryland

And I'll be damned if I'm going to let Andy Katz scoop me again. So here is your official Buzz Williams to Maryland rumor starting. It's been a little while since anyone mentioned how great Buzz would fit at some school besides Marquette, and frankly I miss it. So Buzz to Maryland... whatcha think?

We've got brackets for everybody! Hot off the press, complete with the disapproval of Jay Bilas (and pretty much anyone else that's been paying attention to college basketball this season). It's your official guide to the 2011 NCAA Tournament, or as we've renamed it: The Big East Invitational (11 teams!).

Selection Sunday Looms

Selection Sunday nears and Marquette fans aren't going to need quite as many antacids as originally feared.

Bracketologists No Longer Required: Marquette 67, No. 20 West Virginia 61

Marquette bubble discussions are officially over. MU 67, West Virginia 61.

Tokoto to Announce Thursday

I missed this earlier. It appears that highly touted Menomonee Falls junior JP Tokoto will announce his decision. Landing one of the most sought after recruits from the greater Milwaukee metroplex in recent memory would be tremendous for Marquette, but I don't know that it's in the cards. Word in the hood is that North Carolina is going to be his choice. We'll find out Thursday night.

Finally: Marquette 74, No. 14/15 Connecticut 67 OT

Marquette 74, UConn 67. Marquette gets the win they desperately needed.

Marquette 76, No. 9/10 Syracuse 70

We needed that one. Marquette 76, Syracuse 70

Just when you need a good blowout, here comes DePaul, right on cue
