Hardee's promotional Opening Day T-shirt for Padres-Cardinals series. Was free with purchase of a combo meal at the downtown St. Louis Hardee's. (AKA Carl's Jr., to regular people like ourselves.)
I DO believe in miracles!!
Consolation Prize: Heath Bell Chosen as MLB's "Delivery Man of the Year"
DELIVERY MAN OF THE YEAR: Bell converted 47 of 50 save opportunities this season, placing him one behind Giants closer Brian Wilson, who led the league. . .Bell's save total was the second-highest single-season total for a Padres reliever, trailing only Trevor Hoffman's 53-save campaign in 1998.
"Fear the Beard"? Well, guess who else has a beard?
And he had one way before you did.

Why the Padres Can't Win the West
"Essentially, the Padres are going to try to hold off the rest of the NL West while benching their best pitcher. It is just not going to work."
So say Black Rox fan.
The Beach Boy vs. The Chin
Numbers 1 & 2 (currently) in the NL West engage in the sort of stupid spat you would expect from these less-refined division rivals.
Hell's Bells. . .in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE, WI: SEPT. 30, 2007 -- All-time saves leader Trevor Hoffman is one strike away on Tony Gwynn, Jr. from sending the San Diego Padres to a NL Wild Card victory. Instead, he allows a game-winning single to force a one-game playoff against the Colorado Rockies in Denver, which San Diego ends up losing. . .in part, again, thanks to Hoffman.
MILWAUKEE, WI: APRIL 27, 2009 -- Hell's Bells (Oops! Not actually a save situation!)
Bonus: Mike Cameron made the last out.
TONIGHT: Padres vs. Rockies in Denver
P-Mac the Pirate
I was at Disneyland last night, and while riding the Pirates ride I was struck by how much one of the three "singing minstrels" on the ride resembles Paul McAnulty! Here's a pic:
I guess this doesn't even really warrant a post. It's probably just a reflection of how obsessed I am with the Padres these days.
I'm surprised I didn't see other Padre resemblances while I was at the park. Like Brian Giles' face behind Buzz Lightyear's helmet.
