The Chill Pill: Evolution

I'm not talking about the evolution of man. I'm talking about the evolution of the Miami Dolphins. Although if you want to truly evolve as a person, you better have some Miami Dolphins love in you.

It all started early this season when we lost the beloved Chad Pennington. As you know we insert Chad Henne in his place. The style of the game we play had to change. Suddenly we could throw the ball down the field, definitely a step in the right direction. All of our receivers who we're so accustomed to catching pillow soft passes now had to become better in order to catch the meteorites that were being released from Henne's hands. The play of our receivers has been seriously elevated in all aspects of the game. Take last week against the patriots for example. Did anyone see Brian Hartline making tackles on special teams? The dude was seriously fired up. And did anyone see Ted Ginn throw that stiff arm on a kick off return? Wrap your heads around that for a second, "crumple up and quit" Ginn is suddenly staying in bounds and throwing stiff arms. That gets an O face from me.

Evolution is all about youth. In order to evolve you must replace the old with the new. Take week 4 for instance. Joey porter gets hurt, and the CFL's own Cameron Wake steps in and gets 3 sacks on 11 plays. I'll take a linebacker who can get a sack 30% of the time he's on the field any day.

Then in the game against Tampa Bay, which was way closer than it should have been, we lose our best player. Being at that game, and being able to see Ronnie Brown on the sideline was tough. All the wild thoughts of our season coming to an end on January 3rd were running through my head. What will we do without the trigger man of the wildcat? What will we do without the most versatile player on our team? The next week in Carolina it seemed my question was answered by Ricky Williams 3 TD performance. But its obvious now that we took a different evolutionary path. Instead of relying heavily on Ricky, the coaching staff looked at the fork in the road and took the dolphins path less chosen. We went to the passing game. Slowly but surely we are becoming a team that CAN rely on the pass. And what a beautiful thing it is. While its fun to watch a tough running back plow through defenders, lets be real, the Long ball is the most exciting thing in football.

Lets talk about coaching. It seems like Tony Sparano is really hitting his stride. To me this season has been like running a marathon. Those first 5 or 6 miles really really hurt. Things are going through your head like "I don't think I can make it", and "this is too much for me". But then, an almost out of body experience happens, suddenly the pain is gone. You are no longer thinking about every step. You are just gliding. It almost seems like your feet aren't even touching the ground. I really think Sparano has broke through the wall this season. He's going for it on fourth down with 5 minutes to go. He's calling the passing plays on 3rd and 2. Not to mention the discipline being instilled by him is really taking hold: 1 penalty against the patriots.

Im sure some of you are thinking "Well, its not evolution, its just making adjustments". To me it is more than that. This is the same team that started 0-3 and was ranking as low as 27th at one point. With the same players and coaches, we have evolved into something else. Tough, resilient, relentless. The ability to play to the level of your opponent despite the level of talent on your team is an unmeasurable skill. The ability to bounce back from a humiliating loss to the bills, shake it off, and come back the next week and give it to the Patriots says a lot.

Random thoughts from last weeks game:

Although we beat the Pats, i will say we caught a couple of good breaks. The Offensive P.I. call against the pats was questionable. There were several passes thrown by Henne that got deflected and could have been picked off but weren't. But regarless of that, we played hard until the end and thats what it takes to win football games in the NFL.

Does it seem to anyone that Henne's patience in the pocket, such a good quality for a QB, is a blessing and a curse? It seems like even when his passes aren't tipped, they are sailing right through the outstretched hands of a defender. My heart skips a beat every time one of those deflected passes is floating over the lineman's heads.

Outlook on the rest of the season:

Can anyone believe that the Browns put it on Pittsburgh last night?? Unbelievable!! It looks like the football gods are shining down on Miami right now. Not to mention the Packers beating the Ravens on MNF. We are finally getting the breaks we need to make this playoff run. As it looks right now, even though we are not leading the division, our destiny is in our own hands. Suddenly a 9-7 record just might get us a wildcard. But EFF all that, i think we are going to win out and put this thing in the bag.

Sorry i been MIA for so long guys. I am actually writing this from a friends computer. Hopefully i can get my crappy computer fixed soon and get back into the community. From Hawaii, Medics Out.

Gameday Story In Pictures: Medic Edition

Let me start this out by giving a huge shout out to Ohio. This guy is the man. I've said it before, and ill say it again: when i die, i want to be reincarnated as OFF4L. Allright, this is a "picture" story, so i'll stop yakking.

I first met up with Ohio around 10am. The energy level was instantly raised. Dolphins pride was abundant!!!

Who said getting older means you have to grow up?? These two guys definitely did NOT get the message. Early on in the tailgate we noticed this vehicle with Patriots stickers in the windows. It was one of those moments where u just knew something had to be done. Never fear!! We sprung into action!!!

We're a couple of good guys, so we did what any two good guys would do: We got the wives involved.

Extra Kudos to my wife Cassy (MrsMedic). She was such a trooper. She fought the hangover and the exhaution and made it through the day!!

I just had to get a picture with this dude. I know some of us push the envelope of Miami Dolphins Fandom. Well my friends, whenever you feel like you've crossed the line, please open this post, have a look at this fellow and feel a little better about yourself. (For the record, it was hot as hell that day)

I know it wasnt shown on tv, but the veterans day events were in full swing. They had representatives from every branch there. There were video's being shown on the jumbo tron of players thanking service men and women for what they do. If i remember correctly Ayodele and Fasano were the two up there. USA USA USA!!

Ok i have a couple videos i want to share, but im having a problem embedding them into the post. Check out Ronnie's rushing TD. Notice the guy behind me....i thought he was Rick Ross. Then when i panned back, i thought he was bone crusher. Then i realized he was just a big sweaty dude at the game.

My wife snapped this picture of me in the 4th Qtr. The game literally became a nailbiter, i think i ate most of the tips of my fingers. For the record, i was still wearing the headband Ohio!

Ok, so finally we come to the game winning field goal. I didnt know whether to be mad at Henne or not. He threw that HORRIBLE pick. But then turned around and got a few good completions on the final drive. But truth be told, the one player who deserves all the thanks for putting us into position to kick the field goal is Ricky Williams. Without further ado, check out the video.

The Chill Pill: Going Home Edition

OHH HELL YEAH!!! As if that message isnt already infered by the picture. I am getting on a plane on thursday night, landing in North Carolina late friday, then driving directly to Miami!! I couldnt be anymore stoked right now. I couldnt be anymore excited. Who's with me huh????

Yeah, comming off the loss to New England has been hard. At least it has been for me. Alot of people are being very mature about it and giving The Pats the credit they deserve (which they do deserve). But screw that!! I like beating their asses and im disappointed that we didnt slop their clam chowder loving faces all over the field. Really, to me if feels better to beat the Pats then to beat the Jets. The Jets are the equivalant of a Dumbass bully, who really isnt that tough. The Patriots are like that guy who was on the wrestling team, but smart as hell. You didnt want to get your ass beat by him, it just hurts that much more. Not saying we got our ass beat, but a loss is a loss. Even if it is to a complete freakin baby.

He's beyond baby, he's fetus status. Did you see him asking the refs for calls?? Even after all the talk Porter did about him? Shameless and spoiled, Jesus Christ Tom, what else can the refs do for you?? They are'nt UP-freakin-S. Holy smokes im fired up this week. I only wish i was making it to Miami on December 6th to see us take revenge on the Pole smoking Pats. Gah!!

So who's going?? HUH?? Holler at me fools!! Ohio, i know your gonna be there. Im pretty sure that Nicky said he/she is going. And im not tracking on Rizzy, but i have hopes of meeting the man, the myth, and the legend!!

The Chill Pill: Friends In Low Places

Medic who? I'm your bartender today. Drink up people because that is the only remedy i got for you. I did it all day Sunday, trust me it works. I was actually trying to pace myself going into the half because i wanted to remember the game this time. But as the game wore on, the pitchers of bud light came. Then the shots of jagger, then the tequila. By the fourth quarter I was overwhelmed by a plethora of feelings and liquors. What it really boils down to is we lost, barely, to one of the best teams in football. Feelings and liquor aside, we should not be overly upset about this one.

I know the hot topic, its Ted Ginn's continual suckiness. I'm not disagreeing. I'm not even close to disputing it. But what can we do? What can the FO and coaching do? We are stuck with this guy and it blows. I pronounced Ginn D.O.A. in the third quarter of the Chargers game, and my medical opinion is that he's still dead. Dead to me at least.

Bill Parcells knows what he's doing. He's building this team like a freaking genius. Its just to hard for a lot of us to grasp. We are all part of the "I want what i want and i want it now" generation. If you really think about whats going on in Miami you should come away with a euphoric feeling of fuzziness. Parcells is doing exactly what he promised. He's constructing a football team with a winning culture methodically and correctly. The process just seems to move so slow at times that it can really be painful to us avid fans. I ask you fellow Dolfans to please be patient and see the big picture. It really is poetry in motion, and the Parcells process is a work of literature that should be appreciated and respected.

I want us to win badly. I know we all do. This year has started exactly the way last year started: 2-4. Yeah, remember that? Right before we went on that NASTY run to win 9 of our last 10 games? The difference I see this year from Dolphis fans is that we are more pissed off. I see this as a good thing. We're not jumping ship. We're still showing up to the bar on gameday with our Dolphins gear donned. I know last year that wasn't happening. You know who you are, its ok. You were watching from home, too ashamed to publicly be a Phins fan. This year I've seen Phinatics out in full force, at least in Hawaii. I know just from watching on TV that attendance is outstanding at Landshark. The pride in this team is fully restored, amongst fans and players. I couldn't be happier with where we're going. I just cant wait to get there.

I know there's been a lot of bickering going on here at The Phinsider. Tex even suggested that I make it the subject of a Chill Pill to help us get along. My take is that this is why we're here. We have differences of opinion and that's what makes this community great. We can come on here and let our feelings and thoughts be known. Some people seem to enjoy going against the grain and i for one appreciate it. Somebodies gotta be "The one", right neo? As long as we can all be respectful of each other i say we continue to enjoy the good debates that we get into.

Our next 2 games are critical. There is A LOT riding on the game @NYJ. We absolutely need to win this one. I predict Ginn to have a big game. I'm not flip flopping, i still hate his guts, but Ginn has huge confidence issues. I think he will have a fire lit under his ass in this one because of what he did to Revis last time. Now the same could be said of Revis, with him stepping up and letting Ginn know that his catch on MNF wont happen again. However, i dont see it playing out like that. So here's to Teddy getting it done at least one more time.

I know we've all seen this a billion times, but lets enjoy Ginn's highlight (singular) one more time.

Thank god this bye week is almost over. I thought i was going to have to kill myself. After mulling that over, i decided i was looking forward to the Phins Saints game too much to die beforehand. Anyway, im gonna make it a short one this week. Without further ado(spell check please) lets get into my head.

The main thing that i got from the last week of NFL action was a big ass question mark. After seeing the Jets jump to a quick 3-0, the dolphins 0-3, and the Patsies not looking so good, i thought all of my worst nightmares had been realized: The Jets are good. I was actually starting to believe that. As a matter of fact i wanted to believe it even more because we beat them. I was so high off that win, it was rediculous. If that game was a high, lets just say that the Bills Jets game was detox.

So we knock off two division rivals in a row. The Bills suck, right? Yes thats right. Then we beat the Rex's. Then suddenly the Jets lose to the Bills. The question begins to loom in my head. Are we not as good as we thought? Clearly the Jets are not as good as we thought. I believe we are good. We are much better than we get credit for, but isnt that almost always the case with the Dolphins?

Despite a losing record, the dolphins are figuring out how to put points on the board. Heres an interesting factoid: There are only two teams in the NFL with losing records who have faired more points than they have allowed. Those two teams are the Miami Dolphins and the Seattle Seahawks. That tells me that this team could very well have a 4-1 record instead of 2-3.

So back to the point. After 6 weeks of football, things are starting to look a little more familiar. The Jets suck. The Bills suck. The Dolphins are looking good despite a record that does not reflect that. The Patriots are still the team to beat in the AFC East. Yes i know some people dont agree with that (Aleta), but thats just the plain truth. Yeah we won the division last year, but the Pats had the same record as us. And dont foget they consistently make the playoffs. Not only that, but consistently make playoff runs. Unfortunately the Dolphins arent doing that, but when they do, they will be the team to beat in the AFC East.

Im not unhappy with the way our division is shaping up, but im not exactly in love with it. We are playing catch up again. At least we are chasing the Pats and not the Jets. I really believe the NY Rex's will be an afterthought when it comes time to make a playoff push. We are going to need a little luck, and lot of hard fought games to go the distance this season. The schedule has softened a little bit, but we still have a few tough games to play, and i am really looking forward to them. This year is the measuring stick. This season is going to tell us how good of a team we have and i cant wait to see the final result.

Ok so it wasnt that short, or good for that matter. But at least u Phin-heads had something to read for 10 minutes. You better be happy with it TCP, Sam and DIB!!!

Ladies and Gentleman, i present you with the Jackass of the week. Go Colts...i mean Titans, i mean....this guy must really not like his job.

One last thing i need to mention. I AM GOING TO 2 PHINS GAMES!! In all likelyness i will be at the Tampa@Miami game and all the Miami@Carolina game. I want to find out if any phinsiders are going to these games, and if so would u be interested in tailgating/drinking etc?? I would love to meet up with some fellow dolphin fanatics especially in Carolina! Let me know!!

Whats up Whats happening Phinsiders. Doggone bye week is killing me. Im just trying to find ways to pass the time without drinking myself into a coma, which is actually quite the challenge for me. Then it hits me. I recently learned to put pictures in posts comments, which my simple-minded self found to be pretty cool. (thanx nicky and zero13) So after inserting several pictures into a comment on a post, Alpha pointed out that he found it cool to be able to put a face with the blogger. I also find this concept to be cool.

The Chill Pill: New Beginnings

This past Monday was a beautiful day. It was a monumentus day. It marked the first day of the rest of our lives. Well, maybe not so dramatic for you all as Phins fans, but for me the drama is real. My son was finally born after almost 91/2 months of shamming out in the womb. He came out kicking and screaming, and i think he called an audible on the way out too. The measurements, 8lbs 8ounces and 20" long. The report from the Wife Combine says he is long and has "strong arms". Future HOF'er, i feel it. Seeing as how he now shares a birthday with someone who's mind we've all been inside of, i expect presents from uncle Rzayo24 every year. Happy birthday Dante, welcome to the world.

Some of you might have noticed i posted a Chill Pill earlier and deleted it. Yeah, im not sure why either, it just didnt feel right. I think it was the fact that NFL game rewind had'nt posted the phins game yet. I was pissed cuz i wanted to watch that shiest again and i couldnt. Well, now ive watched it again and im all full of the dickens.

This game seriously got me pumped. No its not all the N.O. explode and protein shakes ive been drinking, its the revived Miami dolphins. We still have the same team. The same team that lost to Atlanta, Indy, and San Diego. The same team that was 0-3 2 weeks ago. Oh what a difference 2 weeks makes. Our season is playing out the way our games play out. We are getting better as we go. People in the know were saying our team needed to "gel". (i hate that freakin term, more so that i have to use it now) Well this team is more jelly than two hot bitches wrestling in an inflatable pool. We're beyond K.Y. We've hit astro glide status. Even against a tough S.O.B like the Jets Jenkins, we got it done. And believe me, after watching the game again, that guy is one scary mother. Anyone who can manhandle Jake Grove and Donald Thomas at the same time deserves all the kudos you can give him. Why do you think Jake Grove got called for a false start? Thats right, he had a mouthful of Jenkins all night.

What didnt get me pumped was tackling. I love Sean Smith, and dont get me wrong he made some plays, but he needs to work on his open field tackling. He went for a one armed tackle that could only be described as a whiff. And its not just our Defensive backs, i saw guy like JT and Peezy miss tackles. All three of the aforementioned defenders did make up for their shortcomings with big plays at other points in the game though. Now we all know why Leon Washington makes Matty feel just a little uncomfortable. Yeah thats my penis. This little guy knifed through our defensive front better than any other opposing rushers this year. Vontae Davis has alot of work to do on his coverage. That long near TD pass to Braylon Edwards had me scratching my head. Isnt Davis the big physical CB we drafted this year? He did this one armed, turning away from the defender move that made me wonder. Time to get serious Vonate. What can i say about Channing Crowder? At least he stepped it up in the game that meant the most to his trash talking. Good job?

How about that QB? That one who is so bad that it took a terrible defensive performance from the Jest to make him look like Dan Marino. Yeah, thats what it was Rex. 130.4 passer rating, 2 td's and no Int's. Rex Ryan needs to do exactly what this kid is doing. I hope Chad is taking the entire offensive line, both tight ends, all 4 RB's and all his recievers to Ruths Chris steakhouse tomorrow night. On the TD pass to Ginn, Henne actually pulled out his phone and tweeted to teddy that the ball was gonna land right over his shoulder. Don't believe me? Go watch it, dont worry, l'll wait. He really had that much time to throw the ball. And i guess he figured he didnt have to look off the safety because Ted Ginn is just that fast. He just stared him down, waited for him to get past the defenders and let it fly. Im not gonna lie, that play made me a little uneasy. Well, at the time it happened it didnt, but after watching again it did, and heres why: 1-QB's rarely get away with staring a guy down that long. 2-QB's dont always have 2 days and a wake up to make a throw. So does Henne still have to work out the new guy kinks? Sure. But does he look good so far? Absolutely.

I think there is a consesus so far with the new MNF announcers. Im pretty much on board. Jon Gruden, good job. Ron Jaworski on the other hand, i hate you. This dude is seriously annoying. I almost cant believe that he ever played professional football. Its like he's making things up as he goes. He agrees with the PI calls, he thought Sanchez had a reciever near the ball on the intentional grounding call. What a retard, seriously, do we have to stomach this guy every monday night for the rest of the season?? Jaws, i hate your face.

Time to close this thing out. Fellow Phinsiders, i know you are asking me "Medic, where is our team right now". Well, hold your heads high. Our Miami Dolphins are back in the thick of things. We're way into contention for the AFC east. We are back on the blips and radars of opposing coaches right now. I cant even imagine how badly defensive coordinaters are shitting themselves just thinking about preparing for the wildcat. The lights that light the road this season just got a little brighter. This game was the boost we needed, not only to get back in the race for the east, but to get the team back into it mentally. I doubt theres a player on the Phins right now who doesnt think they can win 11 more games.

I couldnt have asked for a better Monday, i got my son, and i got a Miami Dolphins win on MNF against the Jucking Fets!!

For the record: I can't let Rizzy soil the good name of Wolf Pussy. He has somehow been saying it with negative connotations. Ladies and gentelmen, Wolf Pussy is that sweet smell of a freshly fired weapon. It smells like fourth of July, but more pungent and dangerous. Wolf Pussy is tough, its manly. Landshark Stadium STILL reeks of Wolf Pussy and the Jucking Fets cant stand it. That pass from Henne to Ginn was basted in it. Wolf Pussy?? I LOVE IT. BRING ON THE WOLF PUSSY!!!!

Well people, i got bored and now im writing a Chill Pill. Yeah. Deal with it. I can't help but notice lately that the number 13 is popping up alot. As MainePhinFan pointed out in his post, we have had 13 QB's try to take the starting spot in Miami since Marino left. Once Henne took the reigns, with 13 games to go, we won our first game of the season bringing our record to 1-3. Hmmmm. Henne's first pass attempt in sundays game, which was not caught by Ted Ginn jr would have been a 13 yard completion had Ginn Turned around exactly 13 yards from the line of scrimmage, rather than 14. Think im crazy? Go watch it, dont worry, i'll wait.

Im not gonna make this post one big conspiracy theory, but im telling you, something is brewing. Its even gotten to our LB's. Cameron wake, number 91 got 3 sacks sunday. 9+1+3=me freakin out. Maybe its the PTSD kicking in. Some things even medicine cant help. Is there a psycologist in the building?? Ok, no more of that.

I do have some observations from the game believe it or not. I know everyone is happy that we won, me included. But what i noticed while watching this game is that our pass D is STILL suspect. What? Whats that you say? "But Medic, Vontae Davis had a pick 6, and we contained T.O." Yeah well, those things did happen. You know what else was happening? Trent Edwards was taking snaps for Buffalo. The dude is hot garbage. Yes VD jumped the route well, and im freakin stoked he got his first career TD. It seemed like when Edwards actually put the ball where it needed to be, our defenders werent there with it. Most of those plays where Sean Smith was doing his little celebration after an Inc. pass i was wishing he wouldn't. Those balls were being thrown behind, over, and all around buffalo recievers. So to our pass D i say this: Thank Trent Edwards for helping you shine on sunday, and dont forget the lessons taught to you by Peyton Manning and Phillip Rivers.

The Wide Reciever position is still a glaring weakness in Aqua and Orange land. I saw at least 2 passes in Sundays game that Henne put in a spot only his recievers could get to. Unfortunately, they just couldnt make the catch. I think with a big time reciever, Henne's numbers would skyrocket. In my opinion we have 3 recievers on the roster right now that are better than Ted Ginn. Camarillo, Bess and Hartline.

Bess. Im tired of hearing people say that Bess is too little or too slow. Bess is a playmaker. He's a tough S.O.B. He gets YAC. He is always looking to turn upfield. He breaks tackles. He has a great sense of presence. He is the guy to throw the ball to when you need to get out of bounds during a 2 minute drill.

Camarillo. What can you say about Cam that hasnt been said about any great porn star? When you get tired of hitting him from the front, just hit him in the ass. Ok, maybe that was overboard but you know what im saying right? right?? Cam is a brain, he's smart enough to make up for some of his physical short commings. Not to mention he has what Ginn doesnt, toughness. Remember this team is all about toughness. How did Ginn slide through the cracks? Maybe they should make him hold Jake Grove's pocket during practice.

Hartline. Maybe judgement on Hartline is premature. He seems to have alot of the good qualities of Camarillo. The biggest upside for him at this point is the fact that he and Henne know each other quite well. I think we are going to be hearing alot of "Henne to Hartline" for the rest of the season. The Double H connection. Sounds good doesnt it?

Im really happy with Chad Henne so far. He seemed much more comfortable against the Bills than he did against the Chargers. Although he took a few sacks, he didnt turn the ball over. He fell on it and protected it. Heads up plays. Yeah he probably got lucky on those 2 stripped balls, but the end result was no turnovers. Ill take it. He looks versatile. He can throw a pass smothered in hot mustard, but he also has finesse. The TD pass to Hartline was like butter. I might even be inclined to say that it was Pennington-esque. I said a few times that we need to surgically transplant CP10's brain into Henne's body. It looks like the tranformation is taking place.

Im not even going to say anything about our running game. The R&R express has said it all on the field.

So where are we right now? We are at 1-3. Lets not get over excited. Lets not start pinning all kinds of unrealistic expectations back on our team. As much as we hate the Jets, they are still a tough opponent. We have to give them everything we got on Monday night. The biggest factor in the upcomming game will be (brace yourself) Mark Sanchez. If the Dolphins D can play tough again, hit Snachez in the mouth and force rookie mistakes out of him, we'll be in very good shape. We gotta stick to the game plan. Control the T.O.P. Run the ball unmercifully. Stop the run. We have been doing all these things, unfortunately the scores in our first 3 games did not reflect it. TS and the FO still know what they are doing. The formula is the right one. Lets sit back, relax and get ready for another MNF in landshark stadium!!!

Oh how i wish it were just sniffles and sneezes this week. How i wish a little guafinesen here and a little pseudophedrin there would patch us up. But no, this week we are suffering full on trauma. Significant blood loss, blood pressure is down, pulse is up, weak and thready. We as a team and a community are going into compensated shock. No, we arent dying. No were not circling the drain, but as far as competing in our division, we're getting close.

Im writing my post this week BEFORE reading Matty's or anyone else's. Somebody(not saying any names) has accused me of re-wording other post's to create my own. So here are my completely objective views and opinions.

First off, Im not gonna make this all about Henne/Penne but i am gonna get it outta the way quickly. Yes we have QB issues. Penne's shoulder was already suspect. Rotator cuff injuries are no joke, hard to come back from, and an injury that will take away alot of throwing power. When Penne was injured and taken out of the game, my reaction was kinda like these guys.

I thought henne played like he should: A 2nd year guy who hasnt started even 1 game in the NFL. But i saw good things from him. The best and most noticeable thing was his arm strength, theres no doubt he can throw the ball 50 yards effortlessly. The other thing i liked about him was his ability to keep plays alive. It seemed like the O-line wasnt protecting him too well when he came in, but he kept plays going with his legs and evasiveness(even if he was 3 yards past the line of scrimmage on that pass). What i didnt like was the play calling he got. He handed the ball of i dont know how many times. Most of his passing plays were throws to recievers less than 10 yards away. One set of downs really irked me, when we were on the San Diego 5 yard line. 1st down: wildcat. 2nd down: wildcat. 3rd down: Henne pass......HEY HENNE, NO PRESSURE KID. It just seems like Dan Henning was not setting him up for success. The prophecy has been foretold. They said Penne wouldnt make it a full year without injury...well here we are. The time is upon us. The stars have aligned and its time to start Henne. Regardless if Pennington comes back healthy in 3-4 weeks. Theres no turning back.

Hey Dan henning, you are making me sick! I've got just the treatment for Dan Henning, a bus ticket out of miami. He is quickly getting on my list. His play calling seems conservative. Yes the wildcat is not exactly conservative. But heres what he's done in the last two games: start out with a long strike downfield, then never go back to it. Why?? Rivers took a few, and connected. Do you think if rivers misses one pass they never attempt anything over 20 yards again? Doubtful. And the fact that he continues to call for runs late in games is mind boggling. Yes our run game is our strongest suit, but hey when you're down in the fourth and times running out, THROW THE MOTHERLOVING BALL.

Ted Ginn: DOA. Time of death is 1900 hours 27 Sept 2009. Man, Ginn was clutch getting us into good field posi......no, hang on....Ginn did a great job on 3rd and lo........wait its coming.....Ginn played like a disciplined reciever and didnt commit any penal.........ya know what, ill get back to you on this one.

It seems like our run defense took their multivitams sunday morning, while our pass D was out drinking all saturday night. We got pressure on the QB a few times, but i didnt get the impression that they can do it consistently. Darren sproles was contained, we are definitely forming a trend here. Pass D. Whats up?? Two of those passes by rivers were so perfectly thrown, i dont know if any CB's could have broken them up. Our DB's are talented, they just need to show it a little more.

Our turnover ratio is in cardiac arrest. However, with 7 minutes left in the second quarter they produced just enough joules to defibrilate that barely beating heart. We got our first takeaway. The turnover margin was so crucial last year. I hope they got the taste for blood on that one and will continue to try to force turnovers. I noticed our D was constantly clawing at the ball, trying to make it happen. Keep it up.

Hey Channing Crowder, stop crying like a kid who didnt get his lolipop at the doctors office. You certainly dont get a lolipop from me. Maybe i can break out the sutures and stitch his lips shut. Let your play do the talking instead of begging refs for incomplete pass calls everytime the opposing offense makes a catch.

The TE position is killing us, on both sides of the ball. Fasano got pulled. Unless he had some injury i didnt hear about. Joey Haynos replaced him, with similar results. Whats goin on?

The brightest light on our team still comes from the running game. I cant get enough of Ronnie-smash mouth, beat em up, knock em down-Brown. I cant even remember a Chargers defender making a solo tackle on him. I remember this offseason people were actually on the "Trade Brown" bandwagon. Someone needs to lay some C-4 on that wagon and make sure it is Non Mission Capable. Ricky Williams STILL looks good. He's playing at a high level, still knocking guys helmets off. Gotta love him. Unfortunately 1 dimensional teams dont get it done.

Time to start wrapping this up. Where are we now? We have finally entered that crucial stage of rebuilding. We are playing our young QB. The one who has so many hopes pinned on him. Its Henne's time to shine. The question of can we rebuild while still trying to win games now just got a little more complicated. Let henne get his reps in practice, let him get in a rhythm with the offese and we'll see how that pans out. We're in a good postition to recock and come back out firing. Next week we get the bills, then a bye-week. Its not alot of time, but its better than nothing. Well Henne, the bleeding is under control, hopefully Tony Sparano will get you hooked up to a Saline drip opened full bore to replenish those fluids.

My fellow Phinsiders, its finally time for me to leave Iraq! Im getting on that plane in 2 days. They are projecting us to be home early morning of the 4th. Its cutting it close, but i have high hopes of making it to the bar for the Dolphins-Bills game, Jet lagged or not!!! Medic out!
