While poking a little fun at us Americans, this video is just plain hilarious. It has nothing to do with the Avs, I just wanted to share!

But now that the NHL has added the rule officially, and put out this handy dandy video, I have a question, and you can all yell at me if it's stupid. The new rule just deals with blind side shots to the head right? What about other blind side shots? Those are okay? Some of those "legal' hits in the video still seem pretty bad, like the one with Stevens and Lindros.

What's the opinion here? Will the new rule work? I kinda think it's more like a step in the right direction, but I'm not sure how well it will work.

I don't know if anybody else was following this as closely as I was, but I thought I most post it here anyway. Hopefully Gretzky agrees to this and it can be put to bed.

In celebration of the 50 years of goalie masks, TSN is running a poll to see who has the best mask in the current NHL. They've selected one goalie per team, so go vote!

Seriously though, I love this idea, and glad we're participating. Maybe DD (who I'm assuming is in charge of this thing) could keep us updated on how we do?

I'm lovin' some of the team names too. "Art's Khaki Ninjas", "State of Mediocre", and "Fear the Flatulence" are some of my favs.

It's a slow news day (and work day), so I thought I'd post this. They have a live blog going from Phoenix. Might be interesting...

Since nobody else had posted this yet, I thought I would. Looks like Foppa played a game the other night with Modo.

The rest of the schedule should be out today, but I thought I'd pass this along. Just out yesterday that the Avs will be at Nashville for their home opener on Thurs. the 8th. So the Avs home opener should be the 6th or 10th right?

I'm pretty happy with Nashville's #37 on this list. Could be higher, but hey at least it's not as bad as Toronto!

Doesn't really surprise me that the Avs are 74th, but I got really tickled at the Leafs coming in last out of the NHL.
