Possible back up NT just axed by Cleveland
Hey...He's got to be better than what we got at back NT- Worthy of a look...
OK - Here's a scenario that may come into play-
I realize not everyone here is all too thrilled with our WR group as it stands now with really only two WR's that have shown they can consistently compete over their careers in Williams and Crayton.
What if say rookie WR Michael Crabtree does not reach an agreement with San Francisco, and is still holding out deep into training camp?
What if he stands by the word of his "advisory" , and actually decides to sit out this season and rejoin the 2010 NFL draft if he doesn't get the money he wants?
Does Jerry make an offer to San Fran for his rights, and then sign him to an outrageous long term deal?
San Fran would lose their rights to Crabtree if he decides to sit out ( I didn't realize this new rule) and would receive absolutely nothing in return for wasting their 2009 #10th overall selection.
I'm just throwing this out there because if that Crabtree hold out goes deep into training camp, and even into the regular season, I would unload a Roy Williams-esque type deal onto San Fran to acquire his rights to sign him...
I'm pretty sure Jerry would as well......Let's hope for a major feud, and extended hold out of Michael Crabtree.
Is it possible the Cowboys can obtain an All Pro Offensive Guard, on the cheap??
Browsing around the web, I came across this new tid bit of info....The Eagles are reportedly shopping around 2 time Pro Bowl OG- Shawn Andrews ???
Yes...That beheamoth of a man, that simply mauls opponents lined up across him,
That 6'4" 335lb kitchen appliance would give us 330lb + average across the line...a dominating bull rushing machine that's needed to jump start this "Romo friendly rush game"
He's a Bigg Davis clone (if not better), that would solidify the center core of our OL for the next 5+ years (as he is signed through 2015), yes that relatively young (26 years old) monster talent that would split open rushing lanes for our trio of extraordinary running backs,
Yes, that big boy we need in the middle to fend off the likes of Haynesworth and Canty in the upcoming years....
Dallas and Philly have been trade partners in the past, but trading players is always a touchy situation cuz you don't want that guy to come back and haunt you.....Philly has supposedly contacted one team already....doubt it was Dallas...
Duke Robinson < Shawn Andrews....no brainer
He is signed till 2015 to a very friendly contract...Jerry would be better served to keep the same numbers , but give him a 15 million roster bonus or something, as he''s currently underpaid, and under appreciated, and money always brings a smile to a disgruntled player...
Kosier, Holland, Proctor, McQuistan, Free < Shawn Andrews.....time to get real.
Give up our 2nd (#51) and 4th (#117)
Let's get this done....
2009 NFL Draft - Dallas Cowboys -
round 1) former pro bowler WR- Roy Williams
round 2) former pro bowler OG - Shawn Andrews
Now that's one hell of a start......with 9 more picks to go....
