Hotels for Out of Town Cubs Fans

Hello all.  I know this is a little off topic.  I checked the BCB Reader Tourist Diary, but it didn't seem to address this issue.  My wife (who is 6 months pregnant with our first child) and I will be in town for the Cardinals series in April.  We're looking at places to stay that (a) aren't too expensive (b) are in a safe area and (c) won't require too much walking for my wife to get to/from the games.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated.  I'm looking forward to taking my son to his first game (even though he, of course, won't be able to see anything).

The Strength of the NL Central - One Month In

I posted these a couple of weeks ago, and Al suggested it might be a good idea to take another look at these at the end of April.  So, one month into the season, here is how each division has fared against the other two ('total' records are against the two other divisions only - excludes intradivision games):

                    W     L      %
EAST
        E v W    15   18   .455
        E v C     8    24   .250
        TOTAL   23   42   .354

CENTRAL
        C v W    11   7    .611
        C v E    24    8    .750
        TOTAL   35   15   .700

WEST
        W v C    7    11   .389
        W v E    18   15   .545
        TOTAL   25   26   .490

And, for whatever it's worth, here's what it looks like with the worst team in each division removed (Marlins, Pirates, Padres):

                     W    L      %
EAST
        E v W     9    8    .529
        E v C     4    16   .200
        TOTAL   13   24   .351

CENTRAL
        C v W    9    5    .643
        C v E    16   4    .800
        TOTAL   25   9    .735

WEST
        W v C    5     9    .357
        W v E     8     9    .471
        TOTAL   13   18   .419

Strength of the NL Central

As many have commented here, the NL Central is looking pretty strong this year.  So, I thought I'd see how the three NL divisions have measured up against each other thus far (of course we're only a little over 2 weeks in, so this is a bit premature).    Here are the numbers ('combined' records are against the two other divisions only - excludes intradivision games):

WEST
West v. Central:  5-8  (.385)
West v. East:  10-9  (.526)
Combined:  15-17 (.469)

EAST
East v. West:  9-10  (.474)
East v. Central:  4-10  (.286)
Combined:  13-20  (.394)

CENTRAL
Central v. West:  8-5  (.615)
Central v. East:  10-4  (.714)
Combined:  18-9  (.667)
