PSYCHO SPARTY LIVES OR DIES = WHAT SAY YOU? AND HOW DO YOU FIND HOW TO POST !!!

Is the MSU Spartan football team going to curl up and croak unexpectedly after looling like world beaters this year? Not so fast... they have not hung that signature win on the window yet for the casual drive-by fan to see. It will come.. then.... without warning... a miserable game where it leaves people on the street, downtown looking up past the tallest building asking WTF?

There are others you know.. In recent years.. Kanas State, Clemson, Cal, NC State, UCLA have all worn the pointed cap.

This years' MSU team seems different, they seem grounded (after all they are one of the Big Ten three hold outs from the spread offense). Spartan fans carry themsleves in public - shirtless - as if they were Sparty as if to say..."this year, we beat Michigan godamit" and we'll smoke Iowa and Indiana too !

You tell me?

OK, I've read KF's presser remarks today. I'm fighting the cynicisim with all I have. He did not offer one glimmer of hope that the Offense is any better now than they were at the end of last season.

My mantra has been IT'S THE O-LINE STUPID!. I wont' say that, I won't even write it.

I'll wait. Wait to see if the hawks grind out 16 points against the mighty Black Bears of Maine. Wait to see the running game struggle. To see fans claime...hey give them a break, man ! Maine was stacking the box all day long. I'll wait to see the D outscore the O on Saturday.

I hope I am wrong. I'll keep it in a bottle, for now.

Everyone starts where they are.

Everyone starts where they are. And I are bold enough to write a freeking blog (well a diary). It reminds me of the time I jumped into the Atlantic Ocean.... never mind ...................- (I punched the Ocean)

This may not be good, as I said yesterday and so it is...I started doing something that my mother would be very proud of ...I stopped to think. And think and think and I walked into the kitchen pulled out a box of Cereal and walked back upstairs to the master bathroom and proceeded to take a shower with the box in my hand. I was thinking about WTF I could write that would be of interest to a Hawkeye fan.

I'll be a cynic, a fan boy, a clown, and philosopher and if I should be so bold as to post after midnight on the weekend, I'll write a lot of nonsense.

One of the great things about living outside of Iowa is that I get modest amount of Iowa information and that which I get, I seek. Inevitably this leads to some semblance realistic expectations. I'll never forget the time, late at night; I was listening to Jim Zabel on Sound Off and a young boy called in.

Jim: Ok..We have David calling from Mason City ! Go ahead David !

David: Uh Hi!

Jim: What's going on in Mason City David!

David: not much

Jim: Do you have a question?

David: I just wanted to ask you what round you think Matt Sherman will be drafted in.

Jim: (I forget)

Which leads me to Ken O’Keefe. I don't think that he's so bad, on balance. This year I asked a lot of pointed questions to my TV some 900 miles away from the stadium. But on balance I don't have a problem with the specific plays that he runs. Here's the deal, you don't judge the wisdom of a specific call based on whether it works or not. Instead you ask, does this type of play make sense given the defensive alignment, down, distance and personnel?

Against MSU, I called that reverse in OT to DJK. It didn't work but guess what I called it. And you know what - they went back to it a few plays later. It made sense.

Response to those who defend Ken

OK now I’m frustrated. I could not figure out how in the world to navigate this site and now I'm trying to be cool and post a most apt picture in the middle of my thingy and I don't see how to do it. So I have this link above - would have been much more glamorous to just have a photo like the big boys do.

I frequent the scout forum a lot and I also visit MLive because, well, I like Michigan too. Some day I'm going to get around to a Notre Dame site, but they haven't been any good since I started visiting forums.

Today we had an Ice Storm here in North Carolina and I was ill with some kind of upper respiratory ailment. So I gave myself permission to surf all day long.

A poster on MLive asked me if I had ever visited this site. I said that I had never heard of it, but I had heard of the Michigan one - and visited it a few times.

So I came, I saw, I scratched my head wondering how in the wide world of sport to navigate this thing. So I registered thinking that things would improve. Please congratulate me for having the balls to write an entry. I fear this will take me somewhere no good. It may take up time from my job and family. At any rate maybe it will allow me to pass the time until September when sports begin again for me.

Since we've already beat the hell out of why Iowa's offense sucked so bad this year (on the scout forum) I won't bother going there. I still glow as I reflect on those two great halves of football at Northwestern and against Michigan State. sigh~

Just a quick note, I am a notoriously poor speller. So I hope yall can go easy on me for that.
