Long time reader, part time poster. Now in the time that I have frequenting this site for my beloved Eagles, I like most of you have voiced my opinions about the team. One individual however, seems to excel in this. We all know him as JIBTA. Now don't get me wrong, all good debate needs an opposing view, someone to spark interest. So JIBTA, good on you man. But when you made a post back in August predicting how the year would unfold, I made sure to save this one. Understandably, these were all predictions, and nobodys going to get them all, its just always fun to go back on these kinds of things. So before you freak out and start calling me biased, please take this with a grain of salt JIBTA, it just couldn't be avoided. I made some comments on the ones that really spoke to me. So now, if you would all join me, please, enjoy :-D

ok so u want predictions here they are

jack will make this team and be higher on the depth chart than ellis hobbs who is only here to return kicks   ----- WRONG

Hanson will still be the third corner

sean jones starts over demps .. but demps plays both and takes some of mikkells snaps as well ---- half right

Max jean giles will end the season as the eagles starting guard ---- its like he can see into the future

Sean andrews will not play more than 13 games --- granted

TO will have double digit touchdowns  ----FAIL

Lee evans will have a 1200 yard season oppisite him ---- INCORRECT

Brandon jacobs will rush for 1300 plus yards and 14 plus tds ---- BOOOOO

Larry johson bounces back with a 1200 yard season and double digit tds --- HOW BOUT NO TDS

Jonathan stewart will out play deangelo williams by the seasons end

Westbrook will get hurt during the season .. thats kind of a fact --- dually noted

the eagles will go 11-5 and win the nfc east --- spooky

the giants will get a wild card berth --- not this year

the skins will split with us and challenge untill the last week for a wild card berth --  wrong

roddy white has a down season and doesnt top 1000 yards receiving --- 1,087 and 10 TDs beg to differ

dan klecko will be cut --- annnnddd HOW

reggie brown will make this team and play a lot --- well he dresses on game day at least?

Avant will do nothing special this year --- Having a better year than 2008?

Celek will have 700 yards receiving but still cant block anyone --- more than 700, and hes done a pretty okay job at blocking, just don’t ask him to cover Dumervil one on one

MJD will not have the monster season everyone is predicting ---- 1,309 with 15 TDs

Mcnabb.. peters.. samuel and cole will all make the probowl

The cowboys will finish last and still defend cutting there best player --- hmmmmm no

Romo will look average with out TO --- hes always looked average

Heyward Bey will have the best season out of all the rookie wrs  -- NO SAH

Crabtree will be a stud but will need time to catch up after holding out

the person who will lead the league in receiving will not be larry fitz or andre johnson .. it will be calvin ----- not even close

Peterson will carry the vikings to the playoffs ----- Brett Favres wonderful arm has

Darren Mcfadden establishes himself as the better rb .. sorry Felix jones .. all you have is speed .. ----- Gadget player

Felix jones will be the cowboys third rb behind barber and choice --- Committee back

division winners nfc .. eagles vikings falcons cardinals ---- No Falcons this year

wild card giants bears  ---- bears suck and giants overrated

divison winners afc Colts steelers Pats Chargers ---- Cincinnati? Huh?

wild card Titans .. and the oakland raiders .. yes i just said that .. its gonan be close for that last spot but miami is not that good and baltimore is falling off --- I remember my first beer

Sproles will be the biggest waste of 6 mil dollars and will not see much action ---- the guys a midget, he’s trying okay

the only person who deserved a franchise tag less was this TE we used to have .. LJ something

Chris johnson will lead the nfl in rushing yards ---- Don’t I  know it, Fantasy footballlllllllllllll

Turner will be close beacause of his number of carrys .. and not beacause he is actually a good rb  ---- do injuries count as an excuse

Steven jackson will be nasty when hes healthy ---- ill give you that one

the rams will finish second in that division ---- it’s a nice dream

jeff garcia will never see the field ..russell will stay helthy .. and garcia will always be a back up qb where he belongs ---- technically right, but only since hes not on any team at all for that matter

lesean mccoy has 0 chance to make the probowl .. and will not even have the best season for a rookie rb .. that will go to beenie wells ---- half correct, mccoy wasn’t going to make any pro bowls this year….but Moreno holds the title right now

the cardinals will make the nfc championship game again now with a potent running game to go with their wrs

Warner will make his case for the best qb of all time .. numbers .. 2 mvps .. superbowl .. one more mvp this year should do it ----- hes not getting an mvp this year

maclin will play less than reggie brown ---- ehhhnnn wrong

John madden will continue to say stupid shit on TV and people will love him for it ---- no Madden this year

Only Dick vitale is more annoying

brett favre will not stay retired

vince young will start for the titans by week 8

kerry collins will come back in week 9 because vince young blows --- VY  actually saved their season

Mike vick will play in the nfl this season

teams will be mad they passed on him

Matt jones will sign with the bears and become a dependable wr --- no sale

Cutler will not over throw hester .. but hester will drop a lot of balls .. but he will still have a good year ---- 25 ints and counting

Forte is not as good as advirtised .. but olsen will become a premier TE --- olsen can suck a dick

Tony gonzalez will lead TEs in receiving yards ..Gates will lead them in TDs --- Gates got the yards, soooo …

Ellis hobbs is on the bubble for a roster spot --- don’t think so

Parker will be cut .. Clemmons will start ---- neither

howard will play there the most .. so i dunno who the starter is technically

Matt schobel will make this team easy now ----- FAIL

hank baskett will not .. gibson beats him out ---- too bad about gibson…him being traded I mean

The eagles beat carolina in week 0ne because Delhomme throws 2 picks and williams cant run.. stewart has the better game ---- 4 picks, and they had the same amount of yards, Williams got a TD  tho?

the bucs will finish last in their division --- you leave Josh Freeman alone!

Brees will lead the nfl in passing yards .. Manning will throw more TDs .. and brady will be .. well average like always ----- Nobody sees the SCHAUB comin, they never do

Harrison will sign somewhere and do nothing .. because he is a bum and a product of peyton ---- or because he’s old

Issac bruce has another 1000 yard season ---- sorry Isaac

Vernon davis has an 800 yard one ---- hey you got one

we spend week 10 wishing we did make that trade for davis ---- nahh, I like Celek :-D

Ware will lead the nfl in sacks.. the cowboys do have one stud on their team.. i give them that ----  Nahhhhh (the league leading thing, not hating)

Mikkell will not make the probowl and will continue to be over rated by many eagles fans

Gaither will get his job back from mays --- not if IR has anything to say about it

Deangelo hall will lead the nfl in interceptions --- EPIC FAIL

Jeff george trys to come back again .. but he cant get medical clearence from his wheel chair

A week into free agency, cornerback Bryant McFadden still doesn’t have a new home.

Per a league source, McFadden hopes to make a decision soon.

Four teams are in the running:  the Steelers, Cardinals, Dolphins, and the Eagles.

McFadden, a four-year veteran, appeared in ten regular-season games and started eight of them in 2008.  He also started all three postseason games, including Super Bowl XLIII.

I realize that it has only been a few days since the beginning of free agency, but is anyone else kind of... underwhelmed with our offseason? No, I am not talking about making trades for Boldin, Tony G, fuck it, why don't we all start suggesting Randy Moss and Roddy White too? Im talking about honest NEEDS, like a legitimate fullback, a safety to compete with Demps, maybe even improve the depth at linebacker. We did manage to acquire Stacy Andrews, which I'm all in favour of, granted he is able to stay healthy, but on the whole the Eagles FO has been deathly quiet. Don't get me wrong, you're not about to hear me posting on here reading "THE END IS EXTREMELY FUCKING NIGH" (although it would grab enough attention), but it seems that if we were to address these needs, the optimal time to do so is rapidly approaching its deadline. Especially with the ongoing exodus of our veterans. Am I wrong? 

Yes, I realize we are all in mourning at the loss of Dawk, but along with the question of who is going to step in at FS ( I dont believe Demps is going to go unchallenged, not for a second), the other glaring issue at hand is who is going to take the reigns of the defense and rally everyone around him? Stewart Bradley? Trent Cole? Asante? Obviously unless we bring in someone like Ray Lewis, nobodys going to match B-Dawks pre-game hype, but then again, maybe they've just never been given the chance.

Receiver T.J Houshmandzadeh has said that he'd like to play for the Eagles.

But, as it turns out, the Eagles might not be interested.

According to Derrick Gunn on Comcast SportsNet, the Eagles didn't react kindly to an effort by Houshmandzadeh to dupe the team into thinking that he was offering Philly a discount.  After checking around, the Eagles reportedly learned that Houshmandzadeh's agent was actually asking for more money from the Eagles than from other teams.

Per Gunn, the Eagles previously had little interest in Houshmandzadeh.  The alleged bait-and-swtich routine ensured that the Eagles won't make a play for him.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that Brian Dawkins is on a flight to Denver to visit with the Broncos.

Dawkins is worth more to the Eagles than anyone else, which has hurt his contract negotiations. Now he's showing how serious he is about possibly leaving. Dawkins would play a Rodney Harrison-like leadership role for Josh McDaniels' Broncos, but a return to Philly still seems most likely.

[Note by JasonB, 02/27/09 1:52 PM EST ] promoted from fanposts... this would be a tragedy. Hoping Dawkins is just trying to set his market and give the Eagles a number to match.

Anyone heard any more on this guy?? I've seen some videos around the web, along with his strong showing on the bench press ( 29 reps, sounds good to me). He can catch out of the backfield, so theres an upside over alot of the other RBs. Only downside is he went to Liberty, so the level of competition was not as prominent. Am I the only one looking forward to how he does tomorrow? Could be a later option instead of taking Wells or Moreno with one of our firsts. We'll take your comments off the air, thanks for listening.
