Nittany Lion of the Week
Penn State senior soccer forward Jason Yeisley has been selected as the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award honoree in men's soccer for 2009. The award, chosen by a nationwide vote of Division I men's coaches, national soccer media and fans, is awarded annually to the most outstanding senior student-athlete in NCAA Division I men's soccer.
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
Gradulations Jason!

Nittany Lion of the Week
[Duly bumped. Congratulations, Alyse, and we could use you at free safety. - RUTS]
Alyse Schroeder, a Penn State junior majoring in science from Hayward, Wis., is the 2009 Stihl Timbersports Series national women's boom running champion. Boom running is a sport in which the competitor must run across a string of logs attached end to end in the water. The object is to run across the log boom, around an obstacle and back faster than your opponents.

Schroeder will compete in the 50th annual Lumberjack World Championships July 24-26 in her hometown. Also, check out this video of Alyse in action.
Gradulations, Alyse, on your national championship and for being "too country".

Great news!!
Bacon is good for you! According to a new study, "45 percent of the fat in bacon is monounsaturated, the good-for-you fat that can help lower bad cholesterol levels. Better still, bacon's monounsaturated fat turns out to be oleic acid, the same fat found in olive oil. So that means that some could argue that bacon is about half as good for you as olive oil and about 100 times more delicious." Here's the link (http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/food/10-surprising-health-foods-you-should-be-eating-474102/) which includes 9 other suddenly good for you foods. Surprisingly, chicken cosmos didn't make the cut.
So fry up some bacon for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - you'll be doing your body a favor!!

A "Truth or Rumor" on why Devlin left
Devlin supposedly left PSU because he was upset Williams played QB during the Iowa game instead of him

Laura Nitis will give you a concussion
I just read on SI (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/football/ncaa/11/05/pennst.clark.ap/index.html) that everyone's favorite OSU LB has now been credited with giving Clark his concussion. Is there anything that this guy CN'T do? If he doesn't win a bunch of post-season awards, there is no justice.
Also, the article states that Clark was pretty messed up (didn't remember several minutes of the game, acted irrational, etc), so Devlin best be ready. But thank God we won't be playing Ms. Nitis again this season.

T8 4CA update
I read this morning that T8 has narrowed his list to 6 schools: Penn State, Michigan, Oregon, Florida, Washington State, New Mexico. Several Cali schools that have already received verbals from another QB have been removed from his list. Apparently T8 wants to be the top (or only) QB in the signing class. Since we're still in need of a QB in this class, it's good news that PSU continues to make the cut.
Any thoughts or predictions??
