NJD Scouting Report: Whitney Mercilus vs. Melvin Ingram: Melvin Ingram Scouting Report

So, many of you may have not heard from me in a while, I have been busy with some school work as I have just completed the second of my first two video games that I have designed, animated, and programmed myself. For those of you who program video games, you know that creating these takes up a significant portion of our time :).
Synopsis
In this post I will compare the play of both Whitney Mercilus and Melvin Ingram against each other to determine which player is the ideal defensive end in this years upcoming draft. Because of what happened with Derrick Morgan and Brandon Graham in the 2009 draft, I am going to forgo using statistics as the main source of my thesis. This post is entirely based upon each players' performance during the games I have viewed.

North American Fantasy Football League: MCM Division Year in Review
Congratulations to Criollo_pcg for capturing the first ever North America Bowl! Criollo_pcg put an end to Washington's Army's Cinderella season in the finals this past Sunday. CJ2K is the first ever winner of the MCM Division as he finished the season with a record of 11-3, barely edging out the soon to be league champion Criollo_pcg who finished with a 10-4 record. Out of the 5 teams in the MCM Division, 3 made the playoffs with the fourth just narrowly missing out. The MCM Division has sent more teams to the post season then any other division in the NAFFL! Washington's Army (NJD28) managed to get in on the last day of the season through tie breakers edging out Honey Badger (Titans_Firefighter) for the last seed in the playoffs.
Draft Positions for MCM Teams next year:
6. Honey Badger
10. CJ2K
15. Washington's Army
16. Criollo_pcg
Thanks to all who participated in the NAFFL this year and I look forward to yet another successful season next year!
The Indianapolis Colts Players to Watch
Writer's Note: Due to my recent concussion I have not been able to make Fanposts quite as often as I normally would. I apologize.
Last Week for Indianapolis:
The Colts are coming off of a performance that NFL Network's Rich Eisen likened to "Slippery Rock College." Not that Slippery Rock should be offended, because Slippery Rock probably could have beaten the Colts on Sunday night. I even wonder why all the prime time Colts games have been opted out of by NBC and ESPN, yet because they are just that bad. As a matter of fact the Colts were so bad, that the Onion reports that the Saints are continuing to beat them to this day. This means the Colts will be looking for redemption against a faltering Titans team this week.

North American Football League: MCM Division Week 4 Recap
First, I would like to apologise for being for the most part, inactive when it comes to posting my scouting reports on our opponents. I have been busy with college applications and other personal matters. I felt I owed my readers an explanation for my absence.
Now I will begin this recap by giving a brief overview of each team in the Continental (MCM) division of the North American Fantasy Football Keeper League, so without further adieu...
2011 Week 1: Jacksonville Jaguars Players To Watch
via static.nfl.com
ASIDE: I was unable to get the New Orleans post up last week because of the effects of Hurricane Irene. I apologise to you, the reader, for any inconvenience that I may have caused to you last weekend.
So, kickoff week is finally here! The Titans looked good in the preseason and will hope to continue that momentum into the regular season. Our Titans will be playing a divisional game this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have struggled mightily in the preseason and they will look to get out of their funk by starting this year off with a win. So, without further adieu, here are the three players that our Titans will have to concentrate on in order to win this game.
The Chicago Bears Players to Watch
Chicago is coming of a 41-17 trouncing by the New York Giants. The Bears focus their offense on short passing and screens to bring the safeties up, then they throw deep to their speedster WRs. Our safeties have to make sure they do not get sucked in in order for us to win. Chicago mainly plays a Tampa 2 defense. With that being said, the way we can beat Chicago is through the short passing game in the small windows in the zones or a power running game followed with play action passing and bootlegs in order to draw their safeties out of position.
The St. Louis Rams Players to Watch (Pre-Season Edition)
Sorry I have not been able to get to my computer all week as I have been busy with HS and Junior hockey. I have compiled a list of three players on the rams roster that I think will be worth your attention. These players are fringe players so there might be a good chance we see them again in the same uniform or a different one. So without further adieu...
The Minnesota Vikings Players To Watch
via www2.pictures.gi.zimbio.com
Ah, it's good to have football back isn't it? With the interest my "scouting reports" of other teams garnered last year, I have decided to make these posts for each week during this season. This week I will be covering the first week in pre-season where we will kick off against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings will be entering this year with McNabb under center in order to "keep the seat warm" for thier own rookie QB, Christian Ponder. The Vikings fell short of making the playoffs due to a decline in the play of the defensive line and offensive ineptitude during the majority of the season. The Viking DLine has been the cornerstone to that defense since the early 70's and they were not as disruptive as they had been in years past, this likely caused their secondary to be exposed and led to a good portion of their losses last year. Remember, this is a pre-season review so the players I am about to mention may not see significant playing time during this game. So without further adieu, here are the Vikings players to watch:

Starting A New Fantasy Keeper League. Anyone Want In?
I have made a new fantasy football league on yahoo and I was wondering if some of my fellow MCMers would care to join me. The league is called the North American Football League and you can access it through this link. The NAFL runs similar to the NFL as the division leaders will advance to the playoffs. We have a trade deadline for November 18th. The draft order will be done much like that of the NFL where the worst team will get the highest pick. We also have tradeable draft picks to add a feel of realism to the league. The NAFL has a limit on roster moves for 10 per week. We not only draft offensive players but we draft defensive players as well. The NAFL has 4 divisions, so if you want to play in a division with your friends just let me know via email at redbankgenerals@yahoo.com and I will try to put you all in the same division. I will also be looking to add prizes for the league champion. I intend to have league votes between the owners to decide on league issues like whether or not the NAFL should be a money league, a change in the scoring system, ect. The NAFL is free to join. The password to the league is nafl28. Thank you for your time and please feel free to leave me any feedback.
NJD's Scouting Report of Andy Dalton
QB is a huge position of need for our Titans this year. The Titans should do their due diligence to make sure that we don't end up with a head case at QB again. Each week I will have a fanpost looking at each of the top QB's stats and provide game film (when available)and give you guys my perspective on what I think of each QB.

5 things a Franchise Quaterback Must Have
Teams entering the NFL draft go through a large number of the best college athletes in the nation to pick at least 7 (without trading any picks) athletes to play certain positions on their respective teams. But there is one position on the football field that is not easily replaceable and that is the Quarterback position. The Quarterback is the only player on the field that touches the ball every single snap. The QB is the field general, the leader, the position the offense runs through, ect. Without a QB a team will fail; with a QB the team will succeed plain and simple. The NFL has evolved into a QB driven league, you know it, I know it, everyone and their mother knows it. Every year a team needs a new Quarterback. This happens for a number of reasons such as ineptitude, lack of maturity, undeserved superiority complex, ect. In this fanpost I will go through everything that a QB MUST have in order to lead a franchise to the promised land.
2011 Scouting Report: Andy Dalton QB Texas Christian University

Robert Johnson, the next Titans strong saftey?
Robert Johnson is a perennially inactive on the Titans roster so i have taken the Liberty to do a little scouting report on the Titans Draft Pick. I have read a lot about how he should be playing more at SS to replace an aging Chris Hope. I will include a video will allow you guys deduce for yourselves why he does/does not start on this team and the video can provide you with some visual evidence of what he is capable of if you have not seen him play outside of pre-season.
Head Coaching Possibilities (In NFL)
Here is a list of Coordinators in the NFL that could possibly become the head coach of the Tennessee Titan Franchise:
2011 Scouting Report: Von Miller 3-4 OLB Texas A & M

Houston Texans Players to Watch
The Tennessee Titans (5-5) will take on the Houston Texans (4-6) this Sunday at Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX. The Texans enter the game with the leagues worst defense giving up an average 28.7 points per game and 408.8 yards per game. The Texans run a 4-3 defensive scheme that is similar to the Titans 4-3. The Texans boast a very good offense that averages 24.4 points per game and 369.9 yards per game. The Texans have switched to more balanced offense compared to what they had last year and can be compared to an offense like the New Orleans Saints or the New York Jets. Now your players to watch this Sunday:

2011 Scouting Report: Pat Devlin QB Delaware
Since VY's career here is over. I decided that I will begin to post scouting reports on unknown QB's and known QB's in this years draft. They will include info from scouts on different websites and I will attach any video I can find on the QB in question. I will update these periodically all the way up until the draft in April.

The Washington Redskins Players/Positions to Watch
First off I will like to apologize for not writing a piece on the Miami Dolphins last week. I was very busy and couldn't find the time to do it. But i digress.
This week the Titans (5-3) coming off of two straight losses on the road come to LP Field to play the Washington Redskins (4-5) who were lit up like a Christmas tree on Monday night football by the Philadelphia Eagles. Washington is not to be taken lightly however as they have come away with wins against "Super Bowl contenders". They run a 3-4 defense which we should all be to aware of at this point. The 'Skins also adapted the Mike Shanahan's zone running scheme and bootleg-filled offense. The Redskins currently stand at 22nd In scoring offense and 26th in scoring defense.
San Diego Chargers Players To Watch
Bumped from the fanposts.
The Titans come into this week after beating one of the top NFC teams in the Philadelphia Eagles 37-19. The Titans enter sunny San Diego to take on the struggling Chargers. The Chargers are 2-5 after a heartbreaking loss to the New England Patriots last Sunday and will face a tough challenge in the 5-2 Titans. The Titans find themselves at the top of the AFC South while the Chargers sit at the bottom of the AFC West. The Chargers are yet another pass first offense the Titans will have to face during this season. The Chargers play a 3-4 defensive scheme which is VY's worst nightmare (sarcastic quip). The Chargers are ranked 1st in Total Defense and Total Offense respectively. They are also ranked 7th in scoring offense but ranked only 17th in total rushing offense this season. The Titans need this win not only as a claim to legitimacy in the AFC playoff race but to also demoralize a Chargers team that can turn a season around in an instant. Now for the players to watch for the Chargers:
Philadelphia Eagles Players/Positons to Watch
After a convincing 30-3 win in a sold out Monday night game in Jacksonville the Titans will go back to LP Field to play the City of Brotherly Love's favourite football team the Eagles. The Eagles coached by the second longest tenured head coach (longest= Jeff Fisher) Andy Reid features a blitz happy 4-3 defence and a very explosive offence with A LOT of speed. Now without further adieu here are the players/positions to watch:
The Jacksonville Jaguars Players to Watch
After a huge win in Dallas this week the Titans enter this week at 3-2 looking to take the lead in the AFC South. They will be heading into Jacksonville Monday night to face the 3-2 Jaguars. The Jaguars have already played a division opponent in the Colts and beat them in a heart-attack inducing finish on a 59-yard field goal by kicker Josh Scobee. While the Titans have not played a division game yet. Now for the players to watch after the jump:
