Stick With Nick

A win is a win. I excpected more of an offense but Nick played a fairly good game. He didn't seem rushed on the plays and had a few catchable balls dropped that should have been caught. Crompton is a good QB and seeing that he is not the only one on the team that can run the show might open up his eyes that he is going to have a hard fight on his hands to start again. And if, and when, he does start again you will see a different QB than the first 4games. I think the coach made the right call and and I thiink he will stick with Nick for tha Ga, game. Hats off to UNI, they played a good game. And a BIG kudo to the defense again. They won the game.

This is what I've been waiting on all season...Hope it's not a disappointment! I do believe that Nick is better suited for the Clawfense than John is. If nothing else maybe if will give John the boost that he needs to start playing up to his potential, He is really a very good QB but I think he has been trying to hard to live up to Erick and there for not playing his on game. It seems that his thoughts on the field is a play ahead instead of the play at hand. Seen Nick in the Orange aand white game and thought he was a lot more relaxed than John was and to me he had a better game. He is a lot more mobil and that is what the Clawfense is all about. Trivia question When was the last time a season starting QB was was replaced by his back up.

OK, if the coaches can't see that this Vol team needs a QB, I agree (now) that they all need to be replaced. How hard is it to throw a 4 or 5 yard pass, for that matter a 3 or 4 yard pass. It's so dam easy even a CAVEMAN can do it. I say put Nick IN and get him some XP for next year. It sure can't be any worse than what Crompton is doing. The last 3 fumbles were caused by him, he throws another int inside the 5 he can;t read a defense, he over throws or under throws 50% of his passes, stays in the pocket way to long, and way too pass happy. KUDOS to the defense and special TEAMS they did an OUTSTANDING job. KUDOS to the offensive line they did an OUTSTANDING job. Yet another loss but I do believe that we bounced back some. Just need a QB that wants to play. The team reminds me of a verse in an old Willy Nelson song.......There's the Believers.....(me/the fans) The doers (the defense) and the ole inbetweeners (QB)..... Yes I'm a believer that this team can and will win some big games this year...but not with Crompton in the back field. And the doers will keep them in the game. But the inbetweeners....................

Change TIME, yes change the QB.

I have been reading a lot of fan post about the booing and I'm SO PROUD to see that most have the same feelings about it as I do. Hate It ! But does it really have that much of an impact on the UT recruiting field. Maybe so maybe not. The local HS punter that I talked about in one of my other Fan Post stated that, that did not bother him at all. He stated that he was looking at the position that he would be playing and his thoughts were that if he goes to UT he could probably start instead of waiting on the side lines for a few years to get his chance to play. I believe that is the feelings of most HS Players that are good enough to get a scholarship. They want to play right away, they don't want to wait. But the BOOING is very unclassy and I can see where it could be a very BIG distraction the the UT Players on and off the field. This is NOT UT fans. Just wanna be's. Vent your frustations on the Fan post, or talk shows not in OUR HOUSE. We have a great tradition at UT and that tradition is based on FAN support. Be a true VOL fan and no BOOING ! Don't just be a fan Wanna BE !

Bounce Back Time

The UT UA game will be a great time for the UT Vols to bounce back. By no means will this be an easy game. The Tigers always have a good football team. And UT will restore some of their pride in defeating a program like Auburn. Coming off a loss to LSU and playing at home is going to make for some good football action this week end, but if UT can quit beating their self they can make this game their come-back start. I'm sure that the UT coaches have worked on preventing some of the teams mistakes that happened the previous weekend. And really if it wasn't for the mistakes.......well enough has been said on that subject. I sure hope they have found another punter for Sat. dang if not gonna be a long day. You can't get good coverage on bad punts. And the Vols have had their share of em this year. Chit I'm 60+ and can punt a football for more than 35 yards. Kinda leaning toward the 50 yd. line on a 4 down series. Got a kid here on a local HS footbal team that's punting for 42+ a game avg. sure hope the scouts know about him being as he's a Sr. My prediction is UT 24 UA 20.

Never Ashamed !

OK I have read some responses to the Fla UT game and have written a few myself, but by no means AM I Ashamed of the VOLS. How can anyone say that UT needs to replace Fulmer, the winningest coach in UT History. And the VOLS football team, one of the best if NOT the best programs in the country. Sure I like winning a LOT better than losing, but that's football. I have seen several posters say that they are totally ASHAMED of the UT football team. I suggest THEY go to Gator Talk or Tide Talk or what ever Talk that they are interested in at the moment, and when UT bounces back don't come back to RTT and act like you are a TRUE VOL FAN. I am a TRUE VOL FAN and no matter what I'll Be in the stands or watching the tube yelling ROCKY TOP as loud as I can, even if we are 0-12 I'LL NEVER be ASHAMED of my VOLS. Doesn't mean I won't couch quarterback and post my feleings or oppion of how they should have done this or that. That's why we have RTT so we can be coach and state how we would have done it, or point out mistakes that maybe the coaches didn't notice (like the mouth Piece on running plays at UCLA).

You Can Do It!

Like I said in a previous post it was going to take a TEAM effert to win the UF game, The guys played football alright ..... but hey didn't seem like they wanted the game ...the defense played good at times but also seemed to lack the aggresive talent that they normally apply. The offense played very good but...when they got into a scoring Position they seemed to get hurried or confused. And special teams really sucked especially the punting, and punt coverage. They gonna need a really big mean PILL to win this next round but they are capable of doing it if they really want the game. The Gators (like I said is probally the best team in the country at the moment) and they didn't beat us they just won the game. Even with all the mistakes I really think we should have won the game. So on the next round GET MEAN, and play like you REALLY WANT THE GAME. As the water Boy Said YOU CAN DO IT!

As everyone knows the VOLS play better when they have their backs agin the wall.The Gators are Probally the best team in the Country at this time, and with the VOLS' rushing attack this year they gonna be after it hot and heavy, I know this, you should know this and I'm sure the Claw knows it. If Crompton can keep off of the dirt we'll win this game. And no matter what the Gators defense do, they won't stop the run, or to many of the passes, the key to the game is NOT ONLY Crompton it's the OL, the recievers, the running backs, the DL, safetys, CB's DE's, and special teams. This is going to be a defensive game. And the VOLS are going to be at their best this weekend. And when the Fat Lady sings (excuse me The Fat man Sings) It will be heard across the SEC this week end.

Home opener against UAB. Predictions: Jon will pick em apart in the air Foster will have a 100+ rushing game Hardesty will have a 100+ rushing game Defense shows up in 4th quarter and no PREVENT defense the whole game. Sorry bout the Duke comment Chavis. Just got up set over the prevent defense in 4th quarter against UCLA. Thought that was rather foolish to do but hey you the man. And Claw hope you can keep Joh's mouth piece in his mouth on running plays. And Phil pleeeeeeeeeeeze no more ORANGE PANTS!

Whatfense?

Can you believe that an offensive cord. the calabier of the CLAW ran an offense like what was displayed Monday Night? For starters when you have a very good QB and he's having an off game and you have 2 very good running backs that are having a good game what do you do as an offensive cord. First thing you don't do is have your QB keep throwing passes. Sure you need some to keep the running game going but get real, John was having an off game and Foster and Hardesty had thier game shoes on (and those ugly orange pants). And then you kick 2 fieldgoals at 50+yards and give up ground. And Chavis I hear they looking for a defensive cord. at Duke. The game was intertaining and it was a bad lose that should not have happened. WAIT WAIT I see it now Claw you sneaky devil, you just didn't want the Gators and the Bulldogs to see what we really have!
