Blazer's Take Note : Timbers Lose
The Timbers lost tonight 5-4 ( aggregate-series ) to Vancouver. The Timbers set a record 24 game unbeaten streak during the regular season. They were out in their first play-off round giving this season a very hollow feeling.
Blazer fans don't get caught up in making significant improvement in the regular season record. The Trail Blazers over achieved last season and to expect 60 win or better season is overly optimistic. Portland needs to use their depth to finish in the top 4 of the west and then rest players like Brando Roy and LMA so they are fresh and ready to make a deep play-off push. This season Portland isn't below anybody’s radar and next to the L$kers they are going to find most teams will be looking to beat them.
Remember it is not how you start but how you finish that counts.

Yao likes playing and beating NBA big men, but they’re gaining on him
Oden lacks offense
Oden, 7-0, has not entered into that debate. He comes off the bench behind Joel Przybilla and does not have the offensive skills of O’Neal, Yao or Howard. But he has been considered the next in the line of impact 7-footers.

Houston Rockets Player Shot
HOUSTON -- Houston Rockets forward Carl Landry has been shot, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Team spokesman Nelson Luis said Landry, 25, suffered a flesh wound during a random shooting while getting fast food in Houston early Tuesday.
Officials said someone opened fire on Landry's vehicle, hitting it at least twice. One of the bullets wounded Landry in the lower leg, team officials said.
Team officials said Landry was treated and released from a hospital.
Landry played with the Rockets in New Orleans on Monday. He played 23 minutes and scored 12 points in the 95-84 victory.
Officials have not said how the shooting will affect the rest of Landry's season.
Landry is in his second season with the Rockets and in the NBA. He has played in 64 games for the Rockets this season and averages 9.3 points per game. He played college ball at Purdue and Vincennes University.
ESPN The DWADE NETWORK
ESPN announced today that it will be changing its format to only include Dwayne Wade in their NBA highlights. Well maybe a few Kobe and Lebron clips, but only on nights that D Wade isn't playing.
I am sick of watching him be the only player that ESPN puts on. Yes last nights buzzer beater after the steal was good. But let’s rewind and take a look at the whole game. One the Heat was at home against the Bulls, with a record of 29 - 35 not your league leading L*kers. The Blazer’s beat the Bulls at home and didn't need double overtime; they only needed 3 quarters to put them away. The reason that the Heat needed 2OT was D Wade missed a layup and 2 free throws. It is though he has basketball Munchausen disease. The Blazer’s beat the Heat both times including the 106-68 beat down in November. The way ESPN features him it is though he hit the winning shot in the NBA Finals every night.
Brando Roy is better than D Wade and Mychal Thompson said Monday morning on The Game that he would take B Roy of D Wade, because he is a more efficient player and makes others around him better players.
All the things that happened last night and sure enough the game summary had to mention that Greg wasn’t playing. Oh really like anyone can forget. Celtic games don’t mention that KG has been out almost as long.
The E in ESPN must stand for East Coast.

Just two Buffalo guys picked No. 1
Greg Oden and Patrick Kane have more in common than one might think. They are both 20 years old. They were both born in Buffalo. And they were both drafted with the No. 1 overall pick in the summer of 2007, Kane by the Chicago Blackhawks and Oden by the Portland Trail Blazers.
