Old NY Ranger Photos (via NY Times)
A small collection of photos from a NY Times photog. My favorite is the 1960s photo of all the players doing push-ups on the ice in full gear.
Ranking NHL Announcers
Derek Zona from C&B ranked the all the announcers. Sam and Joe were middle of the pack. Interesting read.

From Andrew Gross's Ranger Rants: " Fedotenko, Tortorella said, leads the team in primary scoring chances while Prust is the team-leader in secondary chances."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
George, I expect you to break out your scoring chances into primary and secondary from now on. Anythings else is unacceptable.
Lundqvist Demoted!!
No, not really. But boy is it nice to have a competent back-up this year.
How Valuable is Rozi?
We are about to find out.
From Andrew Gross's Ranger Rants:
"However, (Torts) also announced that defenseman Michal Rozsival will miss 7-10 days with a shoulder strain that the team, at this point, does not believe will require surgery....Marc Staal will likely be paired with Dan Girardi, as was the case last night against the Capitals, and Michael Del Zotto will be teamed with Eminger with Gilroy being paired with Mike Sauer."
Del Zotto and Eminger...Oh Boy...
Callahan Calls Out Ranger Fans
From Andrew Gross's Ranger Rants blog:
“Look at how many minutes (Roszival) logs per night and what he does for us,” Callahan said. “It’s disappointing to hear the boos coming from the stands. It’s unfortunate he gets that. I don’t think it’s right. I don’t think he should.”

Good for Callahan. Fans can be pretty stupid, like booing Rozi (or any player) as soon as he touches the puck or constantly yelling "Shoot!", while completely disregarding the presence or absence of a shooting lane.
There is a time to boo, like after an extremely poor period or game, but the continuous booing of the same individuals is quite juvenile. Good for Callahan for stand-up for Rozi.
Line-up Changes
In addition to Biron, Sauer and Gilroy will be paired on D.
The Value of Marc Staal
Nice piece from Puck Prospectus on Marc Staal and his recent contract.
http://www.puckprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=631
"The bottom line is most teams wish they had a player with Marc Staal’s combination of youth, talent and ability to match up with the opposition’s best. That the Rangers were able to lock up such a player with a deal that not only seems market comparable, but favorable is reason to pop some champagne."
Rangers' Mount Puckmore
Jagr!?!?!? That was a surprise and really disappointing. The rest I agree with.
Lou Gehrig may not of had Lou Gehrig's Disease
Really interesting article about brain trauma and athletes and the potential mis-diagnosis of A.L.S. among athletes.
Jeff Cumberland Update
"TE Jeff Cumberland got a hold of a ball over safety Emanual Cook — who also got a piece but Cumberland came down with it. In the press conference Ryan said he needed to do a better job of blocking."
Torts Likes Offseason Moves
Andrew Gross of The Record caught up with Torts and there are some interesting quotes.
