Minor League Ball OT: 2008 NFL Draft

As you may know the NFL Draft is today and obviously Jake Long is the first overall pick.

Personally, I don't like teams drafting offensive lineman that early especially for the first pick unless, he's a HOF.

As a Eagle fan I hope they draft a reciever for once. I understand that the WR coe in this draft isn't strong but I would be happy if they draft that reciever form MichiganState.

PS: Darren McFadden is the best player in the draft, the best RB in years, and I feel that people will be very sorry not to draft this guy. Yeah, he has makeup problems but some those problems have blown out of proportions.

Discuss about the draft here.

Minor League Ball MLB 08 Season Picks/Prediction

Well it's that time of the year again, that we as baseballfans make our predictions for the 08 seasons. Last year was dreadfull on the NL and was pretty good on the AL.   So here it is my picks for the season and then some.

NL East: Mets: I think Santana sends them over the top overall have arguebably the best talent in the NL. Key is the bullpen and what they get out of the old guys like Delgado and Alou.

Phillies: Best Lineup maybe in the NL, with Hamals being the second best pitcher in the division. Myers still have the stuff to be front line guy but the key is who will step up in the 3,4, and 5 from their rotation and can Lidge comeback healthy and mentally to be a top notch closer.

Braves: Very good lineup, solid but not a great staff, but a pretty good bullpen. Alot people are not talking about them but they have a good shot of winning the division. They are just in the cut where the snipers be. Plus, watch out for McCann this season.

Marlins: I think the Marlins are gonna be slightly better than what people think. Are they gonna suck? Yea, but their staff has potential and their lineup is still solid.  2010 watch out folks.

Nationals: fall under the same boat like the Fish, but persoanlly I like the marlins more but I think Milledge is going to be player that haunts the mets for a while if he lives up to that potential and I think he will. Plus, Zimmerman is still a stud.

NLCentral: Cubs: Pitching is solid, I think their bullpen has the potential to be very dominate with Marmol and Wood if he can make that adjustment as a reliever. There lineup is very good and could get better if Roberts get there. I think they are the best team in that dvision which isn't saying much.

Reds: I personanlly beleive you can flip flop between the Reds and Brewers, but why can the reds be this year's Brewers? The Lineup is very good, yes there pitching has holes but they have improve. Harang is the best pitching no one talks about. Arroyo is a solid guy. They got a closer in Codero who's good. If I am a reds fan, I be very dissapointed if they finish 4th or lower in this division.

Brewers: Really, therir offense is still very good and while Braun might of played a little over his head, he's still gonna have a very good year. Really pitching is the main question mark. Can the Brewers rely on sheets to be healthy. Can Gallardo come back to forn quickly from knee surgery. Not to mention, outside of Gagne, there bullpen isn't that great.

Astros: Persoanlly I don't like there team. Sure they will hit but Miguel Tejada production has slip. There pitching outside of Oswalt isn't impressive at all. Not to mention Valverde in my perspective isn't all that great. Hard to believe they have a chance to win this dvision.

Cards: Another team that personally I don't think is that good. Lineup has holes and same with there staff. For this team to have a chance to win this division Glaus has to be healthy and productive and Rasmus might have to perform at a much higher level. Anthony Reyes who has struggled the last couple seasons need tap into that potential.

Pirates: Well, Where do we start? Lets be real here, Fans who are quite young might not know that this Pirate franchise is really one of the better franchises in baseball. It's hard to believe that this team can't put together a solid team. Bad trades and Bad drafts surely won't help.

NL West:   Dodgers: To me, other than the Mets, they might be the most talented team in the NL. Also, I felt that the Dodgers were the most dissapointed team last season because they have too much talent to finish 2 games over .500. There Lineup is very good. Staff is solid, and a good bullpen. I think Torre wil help the Culbhouse alot. I picked them last, I am picking them again. Don't let me down again.

Padres: They just keep winning, and at times I don't know how they do it. There Staff is very good and if Prior can regain his form in his early Cub days, they can be very dangerous. Bullpen is very good. They have enough bats to keep ya honest.

Rockies: You can really flip flop the D-Backs and rockies. Hey the rockies have a talented team. My problem is this, when every single break went there way from august all the way to the WS, it's very hard to get that in the next season. There staff is really a key for them. There gonna hit, but if there staff specifically Morales and Jimenez don't step up, they not gonna have a chace to win the division.

D-Backs: Adding Haren to the rotation was a nice shot on the arm. Nevertheless, I am not as high on them as most people. There lineup has question marks. When you get past Haren and Webb, there 3,4, and 5 isn't great. Plus, last year was somewhat of a fluke because they won 90 games despite being outscored the entire year. They will be good but not as good as people think they are.

Giants: Last and certainly the least, Chris Russo's fav team. Boy, if they can have a average hitting team, they will be dangerous. That is one of the worst lineups I,ve seen in years. It's messed up becuase they got some serious arms with cain and lincecum and sanchez and even there bullpen is solid.  When Aaron Rowand is your best hitter, your screwed.

MVP: David Wright

CY: Cole Hamels

WC: Padres

NL Champs: Dodgers

AL East:   Sox: Personally they are getting a little bit overrated but I will admit they are team to beat. Josh Beckett is terrific, they have a great lineup and a solid bullpen. Now the reason I saw they are a tad overrated for this reason.  Hey they have  a very good team, but people making them like they are the yankee dynasty (well the media do it) of the 40's. They were only two games better than the yanks. I think Okijima might fall back as well. Plus, compare the sox 3,4 and 5 to the yanks. Wakefield to Mussina, come on. Buchholz a rookie to Ian a rookie. Lester  has little experience like  Hughes. I just saying hey they are the best, but they ain't that better than the competition.

Yanks: I understand the question marks, inexperience pitching, shaky bullpen outside of the 8th and 9th, aging offensive players but they are still damn good. They still have a offense that's arguebaly the best in baseball (I said arguebaly okay) CMW to me is one of the most underrated pitchers in baseball in my opinion. Sure he's not an Ace type but he's still a front-line guy. Pettite has to be healthy and is really the heart of the staff (not the best) but the heart. I think Mussina will be servicable, Hughes will be solid and Kennedy will be okay. Yes they have question marks but I think they are  still a top 4 team in baseball.

Blue Jays: They might have when healthy, the best pitching staff in the AL. McGowan is my darkhorse to win the CY. Burnett when healthy has as good arm there is in baseball. Marcum is a solid pitcher getting better. Halladay(who's a tad overrated) is still a very good pitcher. There bullpen is very good, and that's without a healthy Ryan. That said, there team is almost never healthy especially of the pitching side in concern with burnett and there offensive has holes which puts even more pressure on Wells and Rios. They are like the Denver Nuggets, Not gonna make playoffs in the AL, but in the NL they are the second best team in the NL.

Rays: I understand they have alot of talent and potential, but they gotta prove they can go out there and do it. There are some expectation for the rays this year to finish over .500. I gotta see it first before I beleive the hype or jump on the Bandwagon. Although I would be dissapointed if they don't play well though.

Orioles: Not a very good lineup, or staff or bullpen and they are in arguebaly the toughest division in baseball. If they lose less than 100 games that would be an success.

AL Central:   Indians: This one was really tough. I went with the Indians because I think they have the big edge in concern with the arms. For this team to win the division, Hafner must bounce back, Grady S. is a terrific player, overall there offense is very solid. Martinez is arguebaly the best offensive catcher in baseball. Sabathia I think will have a good year if his focus is in the game not the contract. Carmona is the key becuase we gotta see if he duplicate the success he had last season or close to it.  Now I do think the back end of Indians rotation is probably not better than the tigers, but inconcern with the bullpens, the Indians win that battle. I just think the Indians are more balance.   T

Tigers: Yes I know about the offense, but I think they are a little bit overrated. Outside of Verlander they have major question marks in their rotation. Bonderman has not put together the season that his talent suggest. Never was a Willis fan, Rogers is old and Robertson is average. There bullpen isn't that good either without Zumaya. Todd jones is not that good of a closer. Alot holes/question marks in that staff. Can they still win the division? Yes and they are a very good team but they have holes in their staff that need to be fix.

Twins: I like their lineup alot. Cuddyer might breakout this year as well. There bullpen is pretty solid as well. Of course the staff is gonna take a huge hit when you take a pitcher out of the rotation of the likes of santana. Nevertheless, their staff have some potential with Liariano if he ragain what he had 06. Overall, I think this team is better than what people think.

Chi Sox: Williams made trades to win now but I don't know if this is a win now team. You will think the guys on offense will bounce back from such a bad year. Swisher will definitely help this team but I don't love their staff period and Guillen to me really kills this team alot in my view. Not really high on the Chi Sox

Royals: Finishing last is never good but this team is on the rise though. I wouldn't be suprise if they finish 4th. Butler is gonna be beast like Gordon, the Meche signing so far so good for the Royals and they have some pitching coming soon to help. 2010 might be the year the royalsk make the big step in qualifying into the playoffs.

AL West:   Angels: I think they are the class of AL West. Their lineup is good. It could get better with Kendrick and Kotchman breaking out. While I don't like Tori hunter signing, it will help them in the short term. Their pitching is pretty solid. With Lackey and Escobar at the top. Lackey is one of the better pitchers in baseball Escobar has the stuff to win a CY and while I am not a weaver fan, I think he will have a soild season. And of course they always have a good bullpen.

Mariners: I am not high on the Mariners like some people but I do think they will be a good team. Erik Bedard and Felix Hernandez might have the best stuff of any top of the rotation staff in baseball. After that, Silva, Bautista Washburn are average at best. Their bullpen is great with JJ Putz anchoring it. Their offense is okay but not great and they almost never walk (although the Angels don't either). Plus, the mariners are hoping that sexson bounces back which he might but not that much of a bounce back.

A's: Well there probably not making the playoffs but they will be competitive because do have alot youg talent at the Major and Minor league level. Of course for this team be decent they must have Bobby Crosby, Harden and Chavez to be healthy. I really like the chips they recieve from the D-Backs and Chi Sox.

Rangers: The Rangers fall under similar circumstance like the A's. they alot of young talent and hopefully in the future they develop into very good players. Again when you talk Rangers baseball, the old question is where's the pitching? And of course they are not found. Nevertheless they do have some young arms that can answer those pitching questions.

MVP: Travis Hafner

CY: CMW

WC: Yankees

AL: Yankees

Minor League Ball San Diego Chargers: I told ya So

What a win by the chargers. This was really a great, great, great, win by the chargers.

I mean to lose your best player and your quarterback due to injuries and still win is really amazing.

I been telling my friends that the Chargers are my sleepers to win the entire thing(hell I even picked them to win the damn thing)

Overall it was a great game and so far I am 3/3 for picks. I hope the giants win. (I hate the cowboys and Patroits)

Minor League Ball Football Playoff Picks

As you may know the NFL Playoffs kick off today and I am intrigued by what some of your picks

Anyway here are mines for this round

Seattle beating the Skins: This one was tough but Seattle is at home and have the better QB and sooner or later that wave skins are riding on is gonna simmer down soon.

Steelers beating the Jags: People are somewaht making a big deal of how the Jags "out physical" the steelers that last time they face. It was a close game and the steelers could of won that game. Steelers are at home and it's hard for a team to beat another two times on the road.

Chargers beating the Titans: I don;t think this game is gonna be close. Titans are bang up and the Chargers are just a better football team period. The Key here is Philip Rivers though. (My sleeper to make the SB out of the AFC)

Giants beating the Bucs: Giants play better on the road and truly think that this is the year Eli plays well in a playoff game. The key here is the Giants running game and how the Giant secondary guard Joey Gollaway.

So here it is, My picks for the NFL playoffs.

Minor League Ball Santana to the Angels?

Just read it about a minute ago.

http://www.beloblog.com/ProJo_Blogs/SoxBlog/archives/2007/12/update_angels_j.html

Wood and Weaver and a extra prospect for Santana.

If Im the twins, I probably could do better than that, but that is just me. I really don't have a love or hate thing with Wood. I am not a weaver fan though.

Minor League Ball NL & AL Gold Glove Winners

All and all it was a pretty good list even though some of them were dabatable. The only one that was pretty ridiculous, was David Wright. I understand he's a great and all and very cool, but he is not a great 3B period. You can make the arguement he's not even good at third base.

Minor League Ball Vick Pleads Guilty to Dog fighting charges.

Talk about a shock uh? Michael Vick pleaded guilty to charges to Dog fighting charges today.

Wow from being on the cover in Madden to going to jail. Vick no question deserves to go to jail, for crying out loud he's a dog killer and was the leader of the dog fighting ring of where he live.

Nevertheless, people can change and hopefully this will change Vick vision in life and hopefully he becomes a better indiviual.

I do feel that Vick is getting a little bit persecuted too much because his name is Michael vick not Michael Joe. Again he deserve to go to jail.

I still think he can play football if he comes out of jail early which seems more doubtful from all the potential sentences that I,ve read and heard.

I guess this isn't Vick greatest day.

Minor League Ball Whats up with Jeff Samardzija?

Being the huge sports fan and all, I was checking Jeff Samardzija minor league stats and they were not bad but awful.

Take a look guys: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?n=Jeff%2520Samardzija&pos=P&sid=milb &t=p_pbp&pid=502188

They are really bad. I understand he's gonna have some bumps on the road but damn. The scary thing is that his K #'s are really bad especially for a guy who can touch the high 90's with his fastball.

The guy is still very young and stiil has alot of time but he better step his game up.

Minor League Ball Is Josh Vitters Overrated?

Q:  Brian from Kansas City, MO asks:
Why does everyone assume the Royals will pass on Vitters? The #1 rule of the draft is to go BPA, and everything i've heard indicates Vitters is definitely one of the 2 or 3 best players in this draft. Couldn't he easily be moved to a corner OF position if KC drafted him?

A:  John Manuel: You know, I'm starting to back off my Josh Vitters love just a tad. I talked to a veteran scout a few weeks ago who does pro coverage and hadn't seen Vitters this spring, but he made a great point. "In my day," he might as well have said, "you had to be more well-rounded to go No. 2 or No. 3 overall." I think Vitters isn't the most well-rounded player out there, not even as well-rounded as Mike Moustakas, and Moustakas is a lefthanded hitter to boot. Moustakas is older, maybe 1.5 years older than Vitters, but to me that's his biggest advantage. Vitters' defense keeps getting questioned the more I talk to people. I think the Pirates are going to get him at four now. If he's a below-average 3B and has to move to LF, he's basically Pat Burrell. Maybe he's a little better than Burrell, and Burrell's a good big leaguer, but that's who he is closer to, not Scott Rolen or David Wright.

Very intriguing. I understand he has a good bat but while everybody talks about polish and can advance quickly, he seems not to be as toolsy as most players who are considered top 5 picks. plus, when you compare him to guys like Moustakas and Domiguez, he's not better atheletes than those two players.

The scout made a good point, if you are a top five pick you gotta be alot more toolsy than that.

So what are your thoughts on that. I like to hear you out.

Minor League Ball Who Can the Yankees draft at #30

With the 30th pick in the MLB draft, The New York Yankees select.............

exactly, who? It's pretty dificult to make solid pick when you got the last pick in the draft. While the yankee farm is improving especially with the pitching where it is really good, the yankees have a huge void in position prospects.

So Guys who will be available at #30 with a big upside. I like Michael Burgess but he seems to be High risk High award guy. Kyle Russell?

Minor League Ball Matt Cain Vs. Ben Sheets

strupp (Madison): Joe, Cain > Sheets? really? (I'm no Brewer fan, but still...) can you elaborate a little please?

Joe Sheehan: I love Ben Sheets, but you have to look at what he is: a guy who's made 47 starts in two-plus seasons, whose ERA keeps climbing and whose peripherals have slipped this year.

I can't imagine I'm the only one who'd take Cain over him, or even that I'm in the minority. In fact, instant poll: readers, send me your choice between the two.

Minor League Ball Mussina And Pavano on the DL.

As you may heard, Mussina and Pavano are on the DL. Mussina is on the DL with a bad Hammy and Pavano is on the DL because of a sore forearm.

Mussina is probably out for like a month or more beacause in Mussina's world everything has to be perfect.

Pavano, who knows. I am so sick and tired of him and even Mussina who in the 2007 season can even break 87 MPH on the gun.

The only bright spot is that Wang might come off the DL in a week or two and Hughes if he's fully develop can give this old, fragile, soft tossers a boost in the rotation.

Peace out guys and Jackie Robinson Legacy lives on.

Minor League Ball Division Picks for the 2007 MLB Season.

Just want to know what are your picks for the MLB season. Here is mine.

National League

NL East
Mets
Braves
Phillies
Marlins
Nationals

I am not as high on the Phils as most people are and in a way their somewhat overrated. I think people are sleeping on the Braves. The Braves fix their bullpen woes and their offense if healthy is solid. Not to mention their starting rotation is solid as well. Nevertheless, the Mets despite their pitching problems will win the division because of their offense and their bullpen.

NL Central
Astros
Cardinals
Brewers
Cubs
Reds Pirates

This division can go to any team unless you are the pirates. The cubs do not impress me at all despite their impersination of the yankees during the off season. Alot of people are on the Brewers Band wagon which scares me although I think they will be in the thick of things come september. As for the cardianls, as long as the cardinals have Pujols and Carpenter on their team, they won't be out of it when it hits september. I think the Astros win the division. I think Clemens will sign with them come may and their offense have improve with Lee in the Line up. Plus, this is more of gut feeling pick here. Reds are have a good offense but the pitching scares me and the bullpen is average at best and that is a stretch to say the least. As for the pirates, they just suck period.

NL West.
Dodgers
Diamond Backs
Giants
Padres
Rockies

The Dodgers have the best overall balance in this division and should win the NL west. With the young talent the Dodgers have and solid veterans, they should play well and eventually will be in the playoffs. I really like the D backs. If the young position players play to their potential they have a legit shot to win the division. Not to mention their starting rotation is solid with guys like Webb, johnson and Davis, the D backs can really be the next suprise team of the 07 MLB season. The Giants are third just because of their pitching. I think Cain can win the Cy young this year and Lincecum can be a huge boost as well and they have the 126 million dollar man Zito as well. All and all the giants aren't that good though. Too old and their offense is below average. To be honest, I think the Padres aren't that great either. Their offense stinks and unless Maddox and Wells find the fountain of youth, they have to prove they can still pitch well. The Rockies are basically built for the 2009 season.

Wildcard:
Braves are my pick. Again watch out for this team. They want to get that bad tatse out their mouths from last year and their bullpen has improved. If chipper is healthy and the rotation pitches well, then the Braves will be okay and will win the NL wildcard.

AL West
A's
Angels
Rangers
Mariners

I think the A's win the division. Sure they lost Zito but their rotation has the potential to be the best in AL or one of the best. Rich Harden has to be healthy to give this team a chance and I think he will be healhty to eventually pitch well this year. Dan haren is one of the most underrated pitchers in the game and Blanton is somewhat of a slepper this year. To be honest I the angels are overrated. Sure the Angels bullpen is better but A's have the better rotation interms of potential and if Crosby is healthy, the line ups between the two are close. So why the hell everybody picking the angels. The Rangers can be a sleeper but you know the same question, can the rangers pitch. If they can, watch out. AS for the Mariners, they stink so I am not talking about them.

AL Central
Twins
Chisox
Tigers
Indians
Royals

This one was really, really tough. I went with they twins. Sure the Twins have question marks on the rotation but they have arguebaly the best bullpen in the majors, the best pitcher in the majors, one of the better line ups in the majors as well. The key to this team is cleary Matt Garza. If he pitches well this team has a puncher's chance to make the world series.
I think alot of people are selling the Chisox short. They have a great line up, a good bullpen and I think starters like Contreras and Mark B. will bounce back. I just have a pretty good feeling with this team. The tigers to me will have a good year but they are not gonna sneak up on people like they did last year or get those lucky breaks as well. All and all their pithing is solid and they will be in contention. I am not sold on the indians. To me the Indians are the AL version of the Phillies, always have expectation and then they flop. It's funny how alot of people are picking them to be this year's tigers. please. The tigers had no expectations last year, this Indian team has high expectation and their band wangon is pretty full. AS for the Royals, hey the future is brighter and besides at least you can buy a ticket to see Alex Gordon play.

AL East
Red Sox
Yankees
Blue Jays
Devil Rays
Orioles

This one was pretty dificult as well. As a yankee fan, I love the yankees but I went with the Red Sox. Their starting rotation is better. Dice K will have a good year, same with Beckett who will bounce back this year. Schilling is older but he's still good. Their offense is one the best in baseball. Most significantly, Jonathan Papelbon is back closing games. The Red sox are arguebaly the most complete team in baseball or at least of the more complete teams in baseball. The Yankees, will be good but they have question marks that really scare me. Sure the offense is great but can Wang repeat what he did last year. Yankees are going gaga with Pettite and they forget he's older and pitching in the AL. Can Proctor have back to back solid years. Can Alex ever get his swagger back. All and all the yankees will play well but has good as people think they will be, I think it's gonna be more dificult.
The Blue jays will be solid especially with their offense and the 1-2 punch of Halladay and Burnett. Their bullpen scare me other than Ryan. Tampa with their young players will improve and they WILL not finish last this year and are built for 2010 like Callis said. The Orioles, I never really liked their team be honest. Other than Erik Bedard, I don't trust any other pitcher on their staff to have a good year although the potential is there.

Wild Card:
Yankees, despite the question marks, I think the yankees win the wild card.

World Series picks

I got the Twins Vs. Mets and the Twins winning it all in 6 games. Something special might happen in Minnesota. Hey the Cardinals did it, why not them.

I hope you guys right down your MLB prediction and not let me do all this writing for nothing man.

Minor League Ball Which LHP college closers can become legit ML starters

I heard on BA podcast that closers like Daniel Moskos and Brett Cecil have a legit chance to become front-line starters at the ML level from several scouts. I also read in several articles that Cole St. Clair has the stuff to be an above average starter as well.

I think all three are more suited for the bullpen but I do like Brett Cecil alot. The guy does have a great fastball/slider combo and from reports his change up has shown some inprovement. Plus, his body type of 6"3 of 225 plus is pretty good as well.

Minor League Ball Justin Verlander Vs. Scott Olsen

Two pitchers who had very good success in the Majors last year and going into the upcoming season the expectation have been a little bit higher for both pitchers. So Who would you choose between the two pitchers? Both have the stuff to be top of the rotation starters from just observing the games that they pitch.

If I had to choose, call me crazy but I would go with Scott Olsen. He's lefthanded, great stuff and while Olsen control is average at best, I think he will improve that part of his game. I think Olsen has a puncher's chance to be the best lefthanded pitcher in the Major leagues.

So guys tell me who would you take.

Minor League Ball What is a HOFer in baseball?

Alot of people are saying to themselves "well duh, a HOF is etc".

But really what is a HOF?

Sure you got your locks like Roger clemens and all but really what is a HOF?

You got a good amount of guys in the HOF who are not or questionable and guys who are not in the HOF and deserve huge consideration for the HOF.

Think about it Rafael Palmeiro (steriods aside) had 500 Home runs and 3,000 hits but to me he's not a HOFer despite played long time. Yet John Smoltz who was not the greatest pitcher in the 90's into 2000's shall we say to me is a HOF.

Voters like longevity, but Sandy K. had a short career and he's in. Voters say he has to be dominate, yet sutton not even close to being the best pitcher in baseball is in, while Jim Rice one of the most dominate hitters in his time is not in.

So people put players in for "magic #'s" or longevity? Or how many awards  he has won and etc.

To me, to tell whether a guy is a HOFer or not is just watch the game of baseball and use ya baseball sense. I have watch baseball for a long time, and I can tell Schilling is a HOF despite questions about him, and I think McGire is not a HOFer because really other than hitting HR's he did nothing else but Harmon Killebrew is in the HOF who was similar to McGwire. Stats does help no question about, you do need stats but don't be that stat loving all the time.

So guys what is really a HOF player. I would like to here some of your opinions about that.

Minor League Ball Hughes&Bailey: The Next Prior&Beckett.

http://www.projectprospect.com/rbtb2-5/

Interesting article on Hughes and Bailey Vs. Mark Prior and Josh Beckett.

What is your opinion on the comparisons?

I feel that Prior is the best out of the four pitchers, I felt if Prior was healthy, he could of been the best pitcher in baseball and won all the cy youngs if he wanted to. I was never a Josh Beckett fan, I understand he had the higher ceiling than Prior just like Bailey having the higher upside than Hughes but it's funny because Bailey and Beckett are basically twins and yet I Like Bailey alot and love his game but never liked Beckett. Hughes and Prior are so similar it is amazing how many characteristics they both have in common whether it's stuff, both being from cali or wearing their socks way up to their calves, the comparisons between the two are there.

Minor League Ball Colts Win Super Bowl XLI

Colts win, colts win. Congradulation for Peyton Manning and the Colts winning the super bowl.

I told you the bears D was OVERRATED just like their best player Brian Urlacher. You can tell me all the BS you want and defend the bears D and Urlacher you want, he and the bea's defense is overrated.

As for Peyton Manning the guy is the best Quarterback in the game period. And guess what for all the teams in NFL, I feel sorry for ya because now Manning is going to pay some free and easy football and that is SCARY.

And now the Start of the MLB begin.

Minor League Ball Papelbon Vs. Beckett: Long Term Success

Going into the 2007 MLB Season, there are significant question marks about the Red Sox Pitching staff. Two of these questions are:

Can Jonathan Papelbon Make the successful transition from relief to Starter.

And

Can Josh Beckett bounce back from a tough 2006 MLB season in concern with his pitching performance.

Plus, which pitcher would have the better 2007 season?

Im my opinion, I think Beckett will bounce back and have a pretty good year for the Red Sox and probably have a better year than Jonathan Papelbon.

As for Beyond, That to me is somewhat of a toss up. Can Josh Beckett improve as a starter interms of becoming more of a pitcher rather than a thrower.

Can Papelbon improve as a starter in the long term with his pitches or is he just a Bonifide Closer for the rest of his carrer.

I leaning more on Papelbon side because despite being a HUGE YANKEE FAN, I always been a huge fan of Papelbon and reminds me alot of Curt Schilling alot of times. Plus, I have never been a Josh Beckett fan, even when he was getting all the hoopla when he was with Florida. Nevertheless, I might take Beckett because of a slightly higher ceiling but I might take Papelbon because I think he's a little bit more polish and has slightly better control than Beckett. So who would you choose?

Minor League Ball COLTS WIN, COLTS WIN, COLTS WIN.

The game is officially over, and guess what? The Colts win baby. They did it, they fucking did it man. Give the Colts credit for coming back agains the pats.

What a phenomenal game. One of the better games you will ever see. You talk a game of drama, this was it.

Also Congradulation on Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith becoming the first Black head coaches to go to the Super Bowl. Being an African American that makes me proud.

Anyway Colts win baby, and to all the cocky Pats fans out their, don't cause suicide, their is always next year ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.

                    COLTS WIN.

By the way, I wonder if Bill simmons is working tomorrow. I think he might call in sick.

Minor League Ball Patriots Vs. Colts: Who ya got?

I know it's a baseball site but we are sport fans in general. Anyway, you talk about the game of the week, you talk about Wilt Vs. Russell, Bird Vs. Magic, then you got to like Brady Vs. Manning. Especially when it's part three. So guys who you got in this game. Obviously alot guys like the Patriots even on the road, because of the one factor: Brady wins, Manning doesn't. Brady has the rings, Manning has the statistics. Plus these two teams aren't bad either.

I got the colts in this one. I put my finger on why but I think Manning will make the "Play" that win his team the game, something that Brady does all the time. I,m really rooting for manning because I really think he deserves a ring and he's just an artist out there at the quarterback position, but then again that artistic talent doesn't show in the playoffs where brady thrives in. Besides to me, who ever wins this game basically wins the Super Bowl because the bears are overrated and the Saints while like the team alot( and their better than the bears and will beat the bears at soilders field) can't handle a team like the Patriots or Colts. So who you got,

THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
or
INDINAPOLIS COLTS.

Minor League Ball Trade Proposal

If you are the yankees or A's would you make this trade:

Yankees will trade:
Jose Tabata
Kevin Whelan
Humberto Sanchez

A's:
Rich Harden.
Trever Cahill.

Obviously I am just experiementing. And I assume this will never happen but the yankees need a stud and Oakland want some young players. So what you think guys. It's fascinating.

Minor League Ball Worst GM: Mat Millen Vs. Isiah Thomas

I know it's a baseball site but we are all sports fans here. Anyway me and my friend were debating who was the worst of the two GMs. He said Mat Millen and I said Isiah Thomas.

So what you think guys. Who's Worst of the two?

It's astounding how they both matain their jobs. I said Isiah Thomas for the simple fact that he made situation that was already bad and made it worst and added to much salary to the cap and his trades have been horrendous.

Look Millen is terrible but at least his team has some direction.
