"From a lurker, to a front page poster."
-OBNUG Intern
I was born and raised in beautiful Boise, Idaho (alliteration much). I grew up on a Blue and Orange diet that only grew stronger with time, age, wisdom...err, experience, and of course undefeated seasons. College football is my true passion, although my first sports viewing years were primarily made up of Dallas Cowboys football. My dad was always a big Cowboys fan, and I can assure you it had nothing to do with the cheerleaders...
I am married to the love of my life, and thankful for all her support and love to my crazy obsessions.
I have two dogs: Bagira, my black lab/great dane mix, and Zoey, my wifes purebread chihuahua. We have a pretty tight knit little famiy.
I'm currently going to school and majoring in Business, only because 'obsessive sports fan' was not an option.

Three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over UNLV
"Siri, why does Boise State suck against Nevada teams so much?"
Dang. Only a web search. I was really hoping for something for witty than that.
In all seriousness, we didn't "suck"...per se...however after a hard fought battle, the Broncos came away with another victory on Saturday night. The Broncos improved to 8-0 on the year and Kellen Moore became the winningest quarterback in NCAA history. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Texas. And yes, winningest is a word. Join me now after the jump as we discuss the three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over UNLV.
Three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Air Force
Bronco Stadium's first ever military academy showdown turned out to be quite the event on Saturday afternoon. Offense was a plenty for both teams, as well as some impressive defensive efforts. The boys in blue (pants - thanks MWC) came away with the W once again as they cruised to a 37-26 victory against the Air Force Falcons. Join me now after the jump as we discuss the stars, and the goat of Boise State's win over Air Force.

Three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Fresno State
In the words of Ron Burgundy: "I don't know how to put this, but I'm kind of a big deal." A big deal we are, and a big deal we were under the Friday night lights of ESPN. Boise State pu the hurt on Fresno as they went on to win, 57-7. The Broncos cruised to yet another convincing win, and improved to 5-0 on the year as they prepare to travel to Colorado State next week as they open conference play. Join me now after the jump as we discuss the three stars, and one goat of Boise State's win over Fresno State.
Three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Nevada
This was the game many Boise fans had been awaiting for a very long time. Sweet, sweet revenge was the tone of our outing as the Broncos embarked on a journey of redemption on Saturday afternoon. Just one year prior, the Nevada Wolfpack had shattered our hopes of a BCS bowl through a series of unfortunate events. Though we still played in a bowl game, it was the meeting in Reno approximately 10 months ago that renewed a seemingly dwindling Western Athletic Conference Rivalry. Join me now after the jump as we celebrate our victory, and diagnose the three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Nevada.
Three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Tulsa
Saturday night was the first home game back on the blue, after what has seemed like an eternal wait. The Broncos didn't disappoint, as they came out with another win, in a convincing (at times) victory over the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes. Join me now after the jump as we celebrate the stars and mock the goat of Boise State's win over Tulsa.
Three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Toledo
The sandwhich-making surgeon was at it again on Friday night, dissecting the Toledo defense en route to another huge Boise State victory. Kellen and co. dominated the game and gave Americans another reason to make fun of Ohio State. Join me now after the jump as we dive into the stars and the goat of Boise State's win over Toledo.
Three stars and one goat from Boise State's win over Georgia
After what seemed like an eternity of an off-season, college football is back. And more importantly, Boise State wins. What started off shaky turned into one of the most quality wins in school history. Join me after the jump as we celebrate the three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Georgia.

Boise State schedule preview: The New Mexico Lobos and a shot at mediocrity
Nothing says perseverance like starting out the 2010 college football season with a 72-0 whooping by the Oregon Ducks and an eight-game losing streak. The New Mexico Lobos are perseverance. The Lobos came back from one of the most debilitating starts in recent memory and beat the Wyoming Cowboys by a field goal on the ninth game of the season. Congratulations. The Lobos then finished the year with three more losses for a 1-11 total.
Such is life for New Mexico football. Join me now after the jump and let's take a look at the past and what the future has in store for the New Mexico Lobos. Spoiler: It's not good things.

Boise State schedule preview: The Wyoming Cowboys and the road to .500
By Saturday, November 26, 2011, the college football season will be nearly over. The Broncos will have played ten games by then and will have likely worked out any of the inevitable offensive and defensive kinks on the field. If you are a Boise State fan, this will be very good. If you are a Wyoming fan, this will be very bad.
The Cowboys aren't picked by many any to have much of a chance at all in the Mountain West this year. In fact, I would say they are about as likely to be above .500 in the Mountain West as the Idaho Vandals are to be above .500 in the WAC. And by that comparison, I mean no chance at all. Join me now after the jump as we take a look back at 2010, forward to 2011, and the probability of the Cowboys filling some gaping holes on both sides of the ball.
Coach Kinsey - Top Moments of 2010
Throughout the week, OBNUG is featuring favorite moments from the past year in Boise State football. Help decide the final countdown of BSU's top moments of 2010. Voting ends Thursday.
A few weeks ago I got an e-mail from Kevan asking me what my top moment of Boise State football was for 2010. Without hesitation or preconceived thought I immediately answered, "Coach Kinsey."
One of the reasons that I love Bronco football so much is I believe that it represents so much more than just football. It's not just coaches and fans, or players and pads. It's integrity, honor, pride, and love. Love is something that overflows in the body of Stephen Kinsey. Love is something that teaches us about ourselves and about what matters most in life. Stephen Kinsey is love.

Three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Utah
Christmas came early on Wednesday night as the Broncos delivered one of the greatest gifts a fan can receive: a bowl victory. Boise State sent the Utes packing with a dominating 26-3 win on a cold and rainy night in Sin City. Join me after the jump as I break down my three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Utah.

Three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Utah State
The Broncos bid adieu to the Western Athletic Conference (thank goodness no more WSN) and a handful of amazing seniors on Saturday night. They routed the Aggies in typical fashion, winning 50-14. Join me now after the jump as I break down my three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Utah State.
Good Hands Roadside Rivalry Road Trip: Fifteen minutes of fame with Jared Zabransky
Boise State has become the storied program that it has because of fantastic athletes and great people. One of those people that has played an incredibly influential role in being part of Boise State's success is Jared Zabransky. Zabransky played quarterback and proved to be a handful for defenses with his great speed and accurate passing. Join me now after the jump as I break down my fifteen minutes of fame with Jared Zabransky.
Three stars and one goat of Boise State's loss to Nevada
The inability to speak or think a coherent thought was overwhelming on Friday night. However, life is not made out of circumstance. Life is made out of how we respond to circumstance. It truly is the only thing we have control over in this world. And my response is much different than it was two years ago during our last loss. Join me now after the jump as I break down the three stars and one goat of Boise State's loss to Nevada.

Three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Fresno State
I'll be the first person to say that I'm slightly superstitious. Boise State busting out the orange uniforms on Friday night really threw me for a loop. I was having flashbacks to the last time the Broncos wore the all orange unis and got dismantled by Idaho. That color scheme was promptly retired until Friday night. Superstition or not, the Broncos rolled on to another convincing victory, pounding the Fresno State Bulldogs 51-0. Join me now after the jump as I break down my three stars and one goat of the Broncos victory over Fresno. Reader beware: lots of Pat Hill screaming to follow.
Three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Idaho
On Friday night, a 40-year rivalry came to an end. No more trips to Moscow, and no more blowouts against the Vandals; at least for now. Boise State extended their winning streak against the Vandals to 12 on Friday night, taking care of business as usual as they went on another convincing victory with a score of 52-14. Join me now after the jump as I go over my three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Idaho.

Join me now after the jump as I break down my three stars, and the one goat from Boise State's win over Hawaii. Settle in, this one is going to be a little bit different.

Three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Louisiana Tech
The Broncos were at it again on Tuesday night, blowing out Louisiana Tech, 49-20. Though the Broncos won once again by a large margin, many fans and critics would agree that it may have been one of the most sloppy 29-point wins in recent memory. Sloppy or not, the stars were definitely out on Tuesday night. Join me now as I break down who were my stars, and we'll see if we can't find us a goat or two as well.
Three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over San Jose State
Quote of the night: "Right in your living rooms, ladies and gentlemen. Doug Martin. Tough dude." And that pretty much summed it up, for the first half at least. Kellen Moore and the Broncos cruised on to another impressive victory on Saturday night as they demolished the San Jose State Spartans 48-0. Join me now as I try to pick out the three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over San Jose State.
Three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Toledo
Boise State cruised to yet another dominating victory on Saturday night vs the Toledo Rockets. It wasn't exactly a nail-biter but proved once again how deep the Broncos can be on both sides of the ball. Join me now as I dissect the matchup and find the three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Toledo.
Three stars and one goat from Boise State's win over New Mexico State
In the words of Ron Burgundy, "Boy, that escalated quickly...I mean, that really got out of hand fast." Saturday night's slaughter of the Aggies may not have been the most entertaining game this season, but it brought to attention the depth and discipline of the Broncos' undefeated squad. Join me now after the jump as I try to pick out the three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over New Mexico State.
Three stars and one goat from Boise State's win over Oregon State
Well it wasn't quite the extreme blowout that I wrote about in my mental journal all week, but a win is a win.
Boise State's win over Oregon State on Saturday night had more twists and turns than my best ever built K'Nex roller coaster; and that's saying a lot. Join me now after the jump as I try to pick out the the three stars and one goat of Boise State's win over Oregon State. Then sound off in the comments on who gets your stars, and who was your one goat.
Poor, poor Bob Stoops
Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops, after living a full life, died. When he got to heaven, God
was showing him around. They came to a modest little house with a faded Sooner flag
in the window. "This house is yours for eternity, Bob," said God.
"This is very special, not everyone gets a house up here." Bob felt special, indeed,
and walked up to his house.
On his way up to the porch, he noticed another house just around the corner. It was a three story
mansion with a Blue and Orange sidewalk, a 50 foot tall flagpole with an enormous
BSU Bronco flag, and in every window, he could see Bronco fans.
Bob looked at God and said, "God, I'm not trying to be ungrateful, but I have a question.
I was a good coach; I won a national championship in 2000, four Big 12 championships,
and eight bowl games appearances including five BCS Bowls."
God said, "So what do you want to know Bob?"
"Well, why does Chris Peterson get a better house than me?"
God chuckled and said, "Bob, that's not Chris Peterson's house; that's mine."

Three stars and one goat from Boise State's win over Virginia Tech
Courtesy of BSU's 33-30 win on Monday night, the Broncos have once again made believers of the naysayers, and given me one more reason to take up holistic stress relief. As part of OBNUG's breakdown of the game, I'm here to highlight three of the star players and one goat from Monday's showdown.
After the jump, find out who is getting the red carpet, and who will be wearing the goat horns. And weigh in with your picks in the comments. Strap in, this was one wild ride.
Jeron Johnson Injury Update
Jeron Johnson was seen walking with a leg/ankle brace today. When questioned about whether or not it was permanent and what happened he replied with, "I'm just tryin' to start a trend and see how many people start wearin' these." Awesome. For the sake of my sanity, and marriage, I truly hope that what he is trying to do fails miserably. Also, he did divulge that it would be coming off Friday. Coach Pete will usually put a brace on at the first sign of a twisted ankle just to be safe, so rest assured, Bronco Nation, I think Jeron is going to make it and be a go for Labor Day.
Public Enemy No. 1: The Case For Robb Akey
True Public Enemy talk would be virtually nil without the presence of the supposed savior of Vandal football, Robb Akey. Coach Akey is an annual front runner for the coveted Public Enemy No. 1 award. Does he have what it takes to topple the Tweedle-Dee, Tweedle-Dum duo of Mark May and Craig James?
Hit the jump, and find out what Akey has been doing to promote his own Public Enemy campaign against Bronco Nation. Better dust off the boxing gloves; this could get ugly.
