Shelburne: Nets considering Davis as assistant


Ramona Shelburne of ESPN LA is reporting that Johnny Davis, an assistant to Mike D'Antoni last season in LA -- and an assistant to John Calipari in New Jersey -- may be a candidate for assistant job in Brooklyn under Lionel Hollins.

The week that was ... was bad


The Nets have to hope next week will be better than last week. They'll start it off with a press conference Monday to introduce Lionel Hollins. It appears they have a deal with Bojan Bogdanovic, which is a good thing. Maybe something else?

ESPN: Nets and Clippers talking S+T for Pierce


Paul Pierce may not be coming back after all. The Clippers have engaged the Nets in talks that would re-unite Pierce with Doc Rivers, reports Ohm Youngmisuk and Ramona Shelburne of ESPN. The Nets don't like what LA is offering in return.

Teletovic: "It's up to me to do my job."


Mirza Teletovic is the first Nets player to talk about the departure of Jason Kidd, telling a Bosnian website that as a professional, "it's up to me to do my job. So it will be in the future." Teletovic added that he's more relaxed this off-season.

Stein: Nets "closing in" on deal with Hollins


Marc Stein is reporting that Lionel Hollins and the Nets are near a deal that would make him the Nets next head coach, replacing Jason Kidd. Stein said the deal could come Wednesday.

Nets "in middle of negotiating a deal" with Pierce


Billy King was asked Wednesday about Paul Pierce's status and he said simply, "We're in the middle of negotiating a deal for him." On Tuesday, he said something similar saying he has confidence Pierce wants to return to Brooklyn.

Nets looking for back-up point guard, says King


Even before Billy King got the official word that Shaun Livingston was leaving Brooklyn, the Nets GM said that he would be looking for a veteran point guard to back up Deron Williams. Who's on the list? Jarrett Jack, Jameer Nelson, Sebastian Telfair.
