DJ Needs to Pack on Some Muscle

DJ and Camby are tied for my favorite players on the team. I think DJ is long, lean, and athletic and hopefully he will be part of the Clipper youth movement for years to come.

I really believe that if he were to gain additional strength he could be a dominant center. He looks a bit soft to me, doesn't really have a "man's" body. I'm just wondering if it's genetics and he's trying really hard to gain strength or if he just isn't focusing on it.

Judging by his recent workouts posted on his journal, it doesn't really seem to be the case. It seems they have him do a lot of running and sprints (which is good in it's own right), but I don't see any strength training involved. What do you guys think?

In search of a new identity and a fresh start, how about a fresh new start as The Los Angeles Griffins (after the mythical winged beast).

The fact that our very on beast shares the name is mere coincidence.

It would be nice to shake the stigma and maybe the jynx is in the name.

If you had a choice, what name would you choose?

Suddenly I have hope for next year again, however this time I'm not going to make any ludicris bets regarding the playoffs.

The gods have no mercy on us in Clipperland. Every year we have this glimmer of hope, this sense that next year will be better. We spend countless hours discussing the potential increase in power of our team, how we can finally become a legitimate threat in the west and a respected team.

Lamar Odom our savior we cried...then he gets injured and abuses the pipe.

Andre Miller to the rescue! ....what a bust

Baron Davis comes to the clips....see above

This year after a horrible...horrible...demoralizing year where most of us hit the point where we swoooore not to be optomistic for next year NO MATTER WHAT....the number one pick and subsequently Blake Griffin falls on our lap.

A decidedly "weak draft" however I think the #1 pick in this draft is not weak...it is the large gap between 1 and 2 which makes it weak. Arguably Griffin would have been in the top four last year.

Can we help but not get excited AGAIN?!

This is the year the Clips turn around.

Let's just hope Steve Perrin doesn't say it due to his crazy universe inverse thingamaggiger abilities where the opposite of is proclamations come true.

How can anyone possibly justify putting Beasley ahead of Eric Gordon in any rookie standing.

Beasley the immature, selfish, kid beat out EJ?! What I saw at the rookie-soph challenge disgusted me. EJ beats him out in nearly every category, plays defense well, has maturity beyond his years and yet got snubbed for Beasley?!

I suppose a "winning season" has a lot to do with it, although I wouldn't call the Heat season spectacular.

Something along the lines of...

"Take what you want from this, but Al Thornton didn't play in the last two games and during that time, that was the best ball movement I've seen from this team"

I couldn't agree more.

He's a black hole. Sort of fitting for a Clipper...shows flashes greatness from time to time, but always reverts back to his ways.

Last night near the end of the third, the team starts to build moment rallying off of a defensive stop from F Jones leading to a Mike Taylor dunk. Clips get another stop crowd is getting into, the team is feeling it, then ball gets passed to AT...he holds on to it tries to force it down low not even looking to pass and then airballs.

Momentum gone.

I had planned to write a post about AT's basketball IQ (or lack thereof) and how a lot of people said he was too old to develop. I didn't believe that at the time...I believed that they were confused. You can't develop athleticism, that the ceiling was there at 25, but AT's athleticism is already off the charts. What COULD be developed was maturity and learning how to play the game.

I think I may have been wrong, in this case at least, I don't see Al getting any better. I don't see any improvement on his passing, learning the plays, being where he is supposed to be. Playing smarter ball. I don't see any of it.

JWill back to the Clippers?

I just read an article from Yahoo! Sports stating that Jason Williams, aka JWill, aka White Chocolate has sent a petition to be reinstated.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Aqmxrswp72ofw1wP08R_KyO8vLYF?slug=ys-williamscomeback021909&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

It also states that the Clips are not likely to keep and and negotiate a buyout. I actually think they may possibly keep him. Why buy him out and not get anything out of it? Unless the buyout is less than $1mm, I see them keeping him.

Yes, we are stacked with PG's. Baron isn't doing well, perhaps we need some veteran leadership?

I would take JWill over Jason Hart anyday.

Seems like a slaughtering of coaches this season...

Theus is no longer the Kings coach, Per yahoo sports.

"The Sacramento Kings fired coach Reggie Theus on Monday morning, a league source told Yahoo! Sports.

Assistant coach Kenny Natt was named the interim coach. Another assistant, Chuck Person, was fired with Theus.

The Kings are believed to be intrigued with bringing former Kings coach Eddie Jordan back to Sacramento, but it’s most likely they’ll wait until the end of the season to pursue him. The Kings had lost 10 of 11 games and are in last place in the Pacific Division at 6-18."

How fitting, we trade the guy and in 21 minutes he puts up 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists. I think he was doing fine with us, despite how everyone here seemed to hate him. He was actually trying this year, I wish him and Mobley nothing but the best this year.

I think maybe he just thrives under D'Antoni because coach knows how to use him? That said, they didn't win. I wonder if it was because Thomas was a ball stopper? It WAS against Cleveland though.
