TNA (Thoughts and Analysis): Broncos Draft
Greetings MHR, this past weekend, the NFL Draft took place. Entering the weekend, the hope was that the Broncos would address key areas of need and acquire talented young players who could step in and contribute to this team. So how did they do? Well, it all depends on who you ask. Some people believe the Broncos did a good job while others believe John Elway, John Fox and Brian Xanders failed. In case you were under a rock or were captured by the Amish for the weekend, here is who the Broncos selected in the 2012 NFL Draft:
2nd round: DT Derek Wolfe
2nd round: QB Brock Osweiler
3rd round: RB Ronnie Hillman
4th round: CB Omar Bolden
4th round: C Phillip Blake
5th round: DE Malik Jackson
6th round: LB Danny Trevathan
What does this all mean? Here are some thoughts on the results for the Broncos.

Goodbye Tim, Hello Peyton and Other Thoughts
Greetings MHR. Last time we talked, Tim Tebow was the starting quarterback, the Broncos were going to be frugal in free agency, and the plan was to build a contender through the draft and developing our talent. As you now know, everything has changed. Tim Tebow is a Jet, Peyton Manning is a Bronco and there is a lot of excitement as the Broncos focus in on the NFL Draft. There's a lot to talk about so let's get right in.

Denver Bronco Sleepers
Greetings Broncoholics. In two weeks, Free Agency will begin and the Broncos will begin to fill the holes that currently exist on this team. Among the biggest positions of need include: Cornerback, Defensive Tackle, Quarterback and Running Back, but the Broncos will be looking to fill depth in every positions. Expect them to be fairly active in trying to replace or resign the 16 players who are about to become free agents. However, before the Broncos get into resigning players, they will examine the entire roster from top to bottom. I took a look at the Broncos roster including free agents, players on injured reserve and players signed to future contracts. If you haven't looked at the Broncos roster recently, you may not know that the Broncos have quite a few young, talented players who are very intriguing. Let's take a look at some of the "sleeper" prospects that are on the Broncos roster.

Live Mock Draft Diary
Greetings MHR. Over the weekend, Mocking the Draft (SB Nation's NFL Draft website) held a live 7 round mock draft. I was fortunate enough to play the role of the Broncos front office. Essentially, I was the head decision maker for all of the Broncos picks. Whenever the Broncos were on the clock, it was up to me to decide which players to choose. The mock draft spanned over 2 days. The rules are simple: Play the role of the GM of your team. You can trade picks from this year or next year. You can't trade players for picks. Do whatever it takes to assemble the best draft class that you can. With all that being said, I would like you take a look into my mind as I operated this live mock draft.

Pre-Free Agency Thoughts
Greetings friends. It is officially the off season which means that if you look at the fanposts section you are probably going to see a lot of mocks. Tis the season for wild speculation and endless optimism with a side of blind homerism. I had written an extremely long full blown breakdown of the needs of this team by position, but I changed my mind and decided I would go a different direction. We are still many weeks away from Free Agency opening and last Sunday was a very empty day without any football. So let's talk about a few things that I've been thinking about since the season has ended.

Denver Broncos Studs of 2011-2012
Greetings friends. The 2011-2012 season has come to a close for the Denver Broncos following a rather embarrassing blowout loss to the New England Patriots in the Divisional Round. Despite the season ending on a sour note, the 2011 season was a season that will be remembered forever as one of the most unbelievable seasons in Denver Bronco history. After starting off a putrid 1-4 under Kyle Orton, Head Coach John Fox decided to give Tim Tebow the starting nod; a decision that proved to be a good one as the team finished 8-8, won the AFC West, and beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card Round. It was a season of ups and downs and one that this fan will remember for the rest of his life. As we head into the off season, there are numerous positions that require upgrades in order for the Broncos to take the next step. We will get more into that in a later post. For now, let's focus on the studs of the 2011-2012 season.

Broncos vs Steelers Studs and Duds
Tim Tebow can't throw. The Denver Broncos have no chance of beating the Pittsburgh Steelers. Demaryius Thomas is a bust. The Denver Broncos are the worst playoff team ever. These are all examples of things that people were saying before Sunday and they are all things that were proven 150% false. The Denver Broncos shocked the world on Sunday and defeated the reigning AFC Champion Pittsburgh Steelers by a score of 29-23. In a game where few people thought we had the chance, the Broncos not only beat the Steelers, they dominated them for a large part of the game. Tim Tebow set a career high in passing yardage against the NFL's number 1 pass defense. Saying this was a "great game" wouldn't do this game justice. This was one of the best games in this franchise's history. It's certainly one of the best moments of the past decade. Let's jump right into the Studs and Duds.

Broncos vs Patriots Studs and Duds
If I had to describe the Broncos 41-23 loss to the Patriots in one word, that word would be "ugly". The sad part is that it didn't have to be that way. The Broncos got off to an abnormally quick start and looked like they were ready to shoot it out with Tom Brady for 60 minutes. Unfortunately, untimely penalties and ugly turnovers told the story in this game. Some people are saying this loss isn't that big of a deal because Oakland lost so Denver remains 1st in the division. I am not one of those people. If Denver would have played a more disciplined game, I think they could have beaten Tom Brady and the Patriots. But "could have" is a phrase for losers and on Sunday, the Broncos were anything but winners. Let's jump into the studs and duds.

Broncos vs Bears Studs and Duds
Down by 10. Inside of 4 minutes. The Broncos WR had dropped passes all day while the run game never got going. Do you know the odds of pulling off this comeback? As Han Solo once said, "Never tell me the odds". The fact of the matter is that when it comes to Tim Tebow and the Broncos, the odds don't matter. There is something special about this team. There has never been a season like this and I don't know if there ever will be a season like this again. Tim Tebow led the Broncos to yet another improbable 13-10 comeback victory. As I sat on my couch after the game, I found myself repeating the words "I don't know how he does it." Truthfully, I don't care how he does it. I've stopped caring about how. I've never been this excited as a Bronco fan. Let's jump into the studs and duds of this incredible victory.

Broncos vs Vikings Studs and Duds
The Broncos are in 1st place in the AFC West. Let's let that sink in for a second. The Broncos, you know that team that started the year 1-4, are in 1st place in the AFC West with 4 games left against the Chicago Bears, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs. On Sunday, the Broncos were able to narrowly beat the Minnesota Vikings with a game winning field goal as time expired. Sunday was just like every other Bronco game since Tebow became the starter. Lots of ups, lots of downs, a close game and a nail biting finish. It's Foxball combined with Tebow Time. But as Tim Tebow and John Fox would say, "it's not how you start, it's how you finish." 4 games left. A lot can happen. For now, let's focus on the Studs and Duds in the Broncos victory over the Vikings.

NCSB First Mock Draft Of The Year
While the Broncos are still in the race for the playoffs, there are just 5 games left in the season and that means that mock draft season is right around the corner. If you have been a part of MHR for while, you know that MHR editor Sayre Bedinger and myself are draft fanatics. In fact, Sayre is the editor over at NFLMocks.com and I work under him as a contributor. We talk weekly throughout the year about players and possible fits for the Broncos. After numerous conversations, we have decided to do our first collab mock of the year.
Here is the deal. Normally, we take turns (I pick the 1st round, he picks the 2nd, etc). However, this this time we are doing something a bit different. We decided to each due our own mocks, put them against each other and let the readers dissect them and decide which one they like better. Due to the uncertainty of late round picks because of the Brandon Lloyd trade, we decided to do a 4 round mock. So sit back, read the mocks, and you decide what you liked about the mocks and what didn't you like.

Taking Over Qualcomm: A Bronco Fan's Journey To San Diego
Some of you may have noticed that there was no Studs and Duds when you woke up this week. Well fear not my friends, I did not forget. I have something different for you today. As some of you know, I live in Southern California where the weather is the best in the land, but going to Bronco games is difficult. Well, I'm pleased to inform you all that on Sunday, I was able to attend my first Bronco game. That's right. I was live at the game when Matt Prater kicked the game winning field goal in overtime to beat the Chargers. Needless to say, it was an amazing experience filled with tons of memories. So today, I am going to give you a full account of what I witnessed when I went to Qualcomm. So sit back and get your popcorn(or morning coffee?). I hope you enjoy.

Broncos vs Jets Studs and Duds
There are some things you can't explain. Tim Tebow's ability to step up his play and win games in the 4th quarter is the epitome of "speechless". There is no way to describe it. To quote Skip Bayless, "He. Just. Wins. Football. Games". I don't know how he did it, but the guy orchestrated a 95 yard game winning drive capped by a 20 yard TD run by Tebow and led the Broncos to a 17-13 victory in prime time over the New York Jets. If Tim Tebow does work out long term for the Broncos, they will point to that drive as the moment the Broncos organization knew he was their guy. For now, let's get to the Studs and Duds.

Broncos vs Chiefs Studs and Duds
Another game. Another dominant rushing performance. Another victory. I could get used to this winning thing. For the first time since 2009, the Broncos won back to back games after beating the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead by a score of 17-10. The talk of the day was undoubtedly the fact that Tim Tebow only threw 8 passes and completed just 2 of them. We are going to talk about all that and much more so let's jump into the Studs and Duds.

Broncos vs Raiders Studs and Duds
What. A. Game. On Sunday afternoon, the Denver Broncos marched into the black hole and beat the Raiders by a score of 38-24. It was a full team effort and was arguably the best win the Broncos have experienced in the past two years. After an up and down first half, the Broncos were hitting on all cylinders in the 2nd half and scored 31 2nd half points on their way to their 1st divisional victory. With the win, they pull to 3-5 and are just 1 game out of 1st place of the AFC West with a trip to Kansas City coming up next week.
Let's jump into this weeks Studs and Duds

Alabama vs LSU Open Thread
For those of you who love college football, there is no bigger game this year. #1 LSU vs # 2 Alabama. There are a ton of NFL draft prospects in this match up.
Here are the players from both teams who will likely be playing on Sundays very soon:
Broncos vs Dolphins Studs and Duds
For 55 minutes, this game was an absolute disaster. It looked like the Broncos were going to open the year 1-5 and the Tim Tebow era was going to start with an embarrassing fail.
But then, with 5 minutes left to go, it was Tebow Time.
Tebow scored 15 points in the final 5 minutes of the game to send it to overtime where a DJ Williams sack/fumble led to a game winning field goal from Matt Prater. It was a game unlike any other. Broncos Country went from being completely hopeless to completely overjoyed. That's Tim Tebow for ya. Lot's to break down so let's get into the Studs and Duds.

Broncos vs Chargers Studs And Duds
Many people said that this game was going to be the most important game of the year. After starting 1-3, the Broncos were set to face the Chargers at home before entering their bye week. It was time for Kyle Orton to put up or shut up. If the Broncos could not come out with a victory, it was time to start seriously considering putting in Tim Tebow. Well, after an embarrassing first half performance, John Fox didn't wait for the game to end. Kyle Orton was benched at half time and Tim Tebow was given a shot. He entered the game cold turkey trailing by a score of 23-10. After using the 3rd quarter to get back into the swing of things, the Broncos went down 26-10 and some wondered if Tebow time was already over. Then the 4th quarter started and everything changed. Tim Tebow rallied his troops, ignited the Broncos fan base and got the Broncos within a single score. It came down to a last second hail mary, but the pass was deflected, hit the ground and the Broncos were given their 4th defeat. If there is one thing that we can take from this game it is that Tebow Time has undoubtedly started and the fans are loving every minute of it. There is a lot to discuss so let's jump into the Studs and Duds.

Broncos vs Packers Studs and Duds
Judging by the final score, you would never have known that the Broncos actually led this game at one point in time. After going up 3-0 early in the 1st quarter, the Broncos self destructed and never stood much of a chance after. They never gave up, but that's not saying much considering the final score was 49-23. To put it shortly, the Broncos got their asses kicked, but did you expect anything else? The Broncos are in the middle of a long rebuild and the Packers are the defending world champions. Denver never stood much of a chance and the Packers showed why. Still, not all was bad. Let's jump into the Studs and Duds.

Broncos vs Titans Studs and Duds
This loss hurts. This is the kind of defeat that can break a team. This was such a crucial game and the Broncos know it. With the 3rd toughest schedule in the league, they needed to be 2-1 heading into their game against the Packers. For awhile, it looked like that was going to happen, but the Broncos collapsed and fell to the Titans 14-17 on Sunday afternoon. The Broncos looked crushed at the end of the game. They knew they just gave the game away. Their demeanor reminded me of the demeanor our players had after we lost to the Jets last year. It's tough to be positive after this kind of game, but there were a lot of things the Broncos did well. Things are not all gloomy, folks. Let's get into the studs and duds.

Broncos vs Bengals Studs and Duds
If I had told you 2 months ago that our first victory of 2011 would come in a game where Elvis Dumervil, Champ Bailey, Knowshon Moreno, and Brandon Lloyd were all out due to injuries, how many of you would have believed me and how many of you would have thought I needed to be locked in a mental institution? I would have probably signed myself up for the institution. Nevertheless, it did indeed happen as our Denver Broncos defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 24-22 on Sunday afternoon despite a plethora of victories. There are a lot of things to take away from this game and we will get into a bunch of them, but the main thing is that the Broncos are now 1-1 and tied for 1st place in the AFC West. Can't ask for anything more then that. Now, let's jump into the Studs and Duds.

Broncos Vs Raiders Studs and Duds
Heartbreak. This is all I was feeling after the Broncos dropped their home opener to the Oakland Raiders. I'm still hearbroken. As bad as last year's 54-14 drubbing was last year, this one hurts more. A lot more, because this was our game. This was supposed to be the game that proved to the fans and the world that the Broncos were back on the rise. With an improved D and a steady offense, this game should have been ours no doubt.
Well, I was wrong. We were all wrong. Denver may be on the rise, but it's going to be a long gradual rise, not an immediate turn around. Denver looked awful in many ways in their home opener. I don't know what's worse, the fact that Denver looked so bad or the fact that despite how badly Denver played, they are still better then last year's team. Both are depressing thoughts. Speaking of depressing thoughts, let's get to the first Studs and Duds of the 2011 regular season.

Not directly Broncos related, but I wanted to get your reactions. My reaction is Haley is an idiot. "He is who we thought he was"
Broncos vs Cardinals Studs and Duds
The 4th pre season game is always the most difficult to watch. As the starters sit on the sidelines with their orange and blue hats on, the backups are out there running around trying to make the team. Unfortunately, most of the time they are running the wrong way. Denver lost to the Arizona Cardinals 26-7. There are a lot of ways to describe the 4th pre season game, but "worthless" is definitely not one of them. Based on tonight's game, I count at least 5 players who made the roster or lost their roster spot based on this game.
So let's jump right into who was a stud and who was a dud.

Studs and Duds Broncos vs Seahawks
Another week, another victory. I could get used to this feeling. In case you missed it, the Broncos defeated the Seattle Seahawks when Steven Hauschka hit a 51 yard field goal as time expired. The final score was 23-20. There was a lot to be pleased with tonight. Let's jump into it.

Madden 12 Online Franchise
Hey everybody. I am a huge Madden fan and have already pre-ordered the game. I have always been interested in being in an Online Franchise, but have never been able to generate enough interest. So, here is the deal, I would like to start an online franchise, but I need at least 12-16 people. In a perfect world, there would be 32 people for all 32 teams, but that just isn't realistic. So, if you would be interested in joining an online franchise, leave a comment so I can get in touch with you.
Additionally, state in the comments if you prefer a Fantasy Draft or not. That way, you may own the Dolphins, but you can pick your own players. I'm open to suggestions for the league. Let me know.

The Era Of Tim Tebow Is Over
It's time to face the truth. Tim Tebow is done in Denver. For a lot of Bronco fans, this will be a tough truth to digest. Tim is a highly popular, extremely likable person, but nice guys don't make great quarterbacks. In the history of the NFL, there are tons of nice guys who couldn't cut it as professional quarterbacks. It's not their fault, but the job is just not for everyone. Tim is arguably the greatest college player of all time, but he has no future in the NFL.

Broncos vs Bills Studs and Duds
The Broncos have officially won their first game of the 2011 season. On Saturday night, the Denver Broncos defeated the Buffalo Bills 24 -10 in their home opener. It was a fun game to watch. Both Denver's starting units had great moments and the second units had some good moments too. It's hard to believe that the Broncos had the same record as the Bills last year. If last night was any indication, it certainly won't be that way this year. I've got lots to talk about and it's 3 o clock in the morning already. Let's get to it.

Broncos vs Cowboys Studs and Duds

Broncos football is back! You know what that means; Studs and Duds is back along with it. After finally getting a couple links to where I could watch the game, I witnessed the first Bronco game of the season. It was very exciting, but it was also very sloppy. I saw a lot of good things tonight, but I also saw quite a bit of bad. Let's jump into the first edition of Studs and Duds of the 2011 season
