Week 17 + Wildcard = Same?

I know its early yet but at the rate things are going right now there is a very good chance that not only will we be playing the Cowboys in Dallas on week 17 but both us and the Cowboys will be flying back up to Philly for the wildcard game.

Pair this up with the fact that the same two weeks there is just as good of a chance that Green Bay will at Arizona and then have the luxury to be playing in Arizon again in the wildcard game.

A few more thoughts on this is that our week 17 game could decide if and where we play Dallas in the wildcard. i dont see us playing backups at this point but in the same token i dont see us showing our entire game scheme if we would be playing dallas the very next week.

It all should be fun.

To recap:

Week 17:

Philly at Dallas

Green Bay at Arizona

Wildcard:

Dallas at Philly

Green Bay at Arizona

Edwards Traded!

Ok as some of you may remember i brought up an unpopular Edwards trade. Well many of you may be happy to know i was wrong. Braylon Edwards was traded to the Jets.

According to ESPN "the Jets sent key special teams player Jason Trusnik, wide receiver Chansi Stuckey and a pair of draft picks to Cleveland."

If the pair of picks are a 5th and a 6th or even 2 5ths this could be decent but other than that they might of over paid.

Also he could do good with a good coach and good QB.

On a final note This could now mean that Labron James may not go to the nets next year.

You lost 3 staight games, Brady Quinn is horrible and when you decide to put Anderson in he still throws 3 INTs in less than a half. For the last 2 years you could not have good play from your QBs. Eric Mangini is on the hot seat already and you are the worse team in the NFL yes even behind the Lions.

Than you get a trade offer. Andy Raid calls you up and offers you a 3rd year QB who started 2 games this year and had over 300 yards passing each game. Along with That young QB you get a receiver who cought over 1000 yards 2 years ago and can stretch the field. All you have to give up is One player who doesn't even want to be on that team. This will gibe you a 3rd QB option who will most likely start for you. it will also bring a solid receiver plus get rid of a BIG headache.

Do 2 Kevins = 1 Braylon

OK so we all know about the injury this weekend and the unpunished late hit. We all know that the "cracked" rib is now "fully Broken." This could be good because as Big Red said, you dont want to injure something worse and with this injury it cant get worse "that suckers broken." this means that if McNabb plays he cant get injured more. so it comes down to how well he can play with the injury and how well we can protect him.

So weather or not MicNabb can play hinges on a few things...... First is how bad his injury is. Second is his protection in the game. and the last thing is the team were playing and would our back-up cut it.

Lets start off with the injury. Bad yes can it get worse not likely. Furthermore He has played hurt before. Like Andy Reid said "McNabb has a linebackers mentality" he has played with injuries before and done it well. weather its his ribs, groin of leg he has played smart and well. The key is Smart though. He could sit there and use his legs to make time and make sure he wont take any unnecessary hits.

Now protection. I was overall very happy with hoe the line played together. Jason Peters played like he did two years ago and McNabb had PLENTY of time. and thats against the panthers Not the saints. the panthers are alot more aggressive and will put more pressure than the offensive oriented team like the saints.

That leads us into weather Kolb would cut it. if this was going to be a defensive game i would put some faith in Kolb but its not. The Saints score big, often and early and Kolb i do not trust to keep up. and since i dont feel McNabb will be rushed as much i would be pressed to take my chances with #5.

Now Andy Reid said Kolb will be practicing with the first team as they evaluate McNabb. This could go either way. this vary easily could be a ploy to throw the saints off but i tend to believe Reid knows that this will be a tough game and we need all the starters we can get. And then to add to that McNabbs toughness i feel we could atleast see McNabb playing a bit on sunday.

What are your thoughts?

Position Battles

Hi to all those who remember me from way back when this site used to be all of 25 people. I'm glad to see the site grow so much.

Lets Get down to business. here is the list of the current position battles.

Offense;

the 2nd RB spot. With Westbrook out we have had alot of time to look at Booker and McCoy

The 2nd/3rd/4th Receiver spot. We can assume Jackson is our #1 and probably Curtis is the 2 but there we can still see a surprise. but where does Avant and Maclin fall.

Tight End. we seen to be going with Celic but who is #2 and i dont trust Celic to be a true #1 until he has good competition. Ingram is gone for the season so whats next?

Finally who is our go-to guy for a back up O-lineman. we know all the starters but what if one goes down and we know all about Andrews health. it seems like Justice is stepping up but how far?

Defense;

2nd D-End. who is famous rotation guy. who are we subbing in to give Cole and Parker a break. Abiamiri did amazing last year but is missing camp again. We also must not forget about Clemons improvement at the end of last year. and the we also have Howard who has been good as well.

Back up Linebackers. at the start of the season i was excited about our status at the LB position however after Bradley went down all of the sudden i dont know who is next after Gaither.

Safeties..... Quintin Mikell is with out a doubt one of our safeties. at the eagles site he is listed at an Unofficial Strong safety and madden has him as our free safety but either way hi is playing on our starting D. now with Sean Jones and Quintin Demps who fills the other spot.

Now i in no way shape of form have an answer to any of these battles but some people here might. To those who have been at camp or following the camp closer than i have who is winning what? I along with many people here would love to know some insight. to all others who have opinions lets hear them.

We do not need a blocking TE

Right now the way this team is set up we simply do not need a blocking TE. the best fit for this team is a TE that will cause match up problems like Witten does at Dallas and that is Ingram.

Right now with our offense we have:

Westbrook who needs a CB to cover him

Jackson who needs a corner to cover him

Maclin who is fast enough to where they need a corner to cover him

Curtis causes match up problems with safeties due to his speed

from there you add in what we hope McCoy could do and the mis matches he brings (and hope he does better at that than booker did)

all we need than is Ingram to distract a baker or two and split the field and be yet another weapon out there.

Now we look at the running game. well with so much speed on the field for us we most likely will see alot of nickel which means 6 men in the box instead of 7 plus Shawn Andrews back and the addition of Peters and Stacy. Lets be hounest if you dont practice run blocking you get worse and by the looks of our play calling Big John and Tra Thomas didn't do much of that. Now you add in something we didnt have all last year in Weaver and then you take Ingram who has the size and strength and pair him up with what people say is one of the best O-line coaches in football.

all in all this draft has brought the Offense Andy Reid has always wanted. We can now spreed the field, open up the Defence and exploit that with the run game.

ok so i was thinking if BGN was a team who would play what positions? so here is a few people i thought up their respective positions.

jasonB- QB our fearless leader, who will bring us into every baddle

Whoodie- HC and MLB he will bring the facts and crunch numbers on the spot. is always thinking on his feet and is quick to defend anything eagles

Foos - RB very quick to the response and is second only behind the QB

LeonSA - K/P a foreigner who pops in every once in a while

MPRH - VP an older guy who thinks more with logic than emotion

Superbowlpukin - FB a guy who takes alot of abuse but still contributes alot

Phila.Eagles - Slot Receiver someone who will pop in every once in a while but is always on the sidelines waiting to make himself known

The Badassador - Long Snapper not well known and is kindof a clown but without him our team would not be complete...... we'll just say hes a "special" kind of player

I'm stumped who else could be put up here
