By Phishing I mean email that seems to be from a reputable source telling you to "confirm your account information". Not fun with the jam band.

I just received an email from "PayPal" saying that I have to update my account information or my account will be deactivated. Thing is, the email they sent this to is one that I made up solely for AN. I haven't used it anywhere else.

The email, and most of the URLs, look legit. The action URL goes somewhere else, though, and probably will do nasty things to your machine if you go there. Double bad nasty if you actually give them any valuable information.

Don't get caught in the Phishnet!

This Phish email was sent to the address I created for AN. I thought it might be relevant to post a warning here, too.

Can you vote in Oakland?

If you're a registered voter, a resident of Oakland, and an A's fan, I implore you to vote for De La Fuente for Mayor.

In a letter that De La Fuente sent me he stated, "The A's are an asset to the city and, with a lease extension, there should be time to work out a plan for the new stadium".

He likes that WolffCo wants to build a community around the stadium, and will use little public money to get it done.

Since this is a A's forum and not a political one, I'll leave it at that. Support the guy who supports the A's in Oakland.

at a neighborhood meeting this evening.

I asked him what, if elected, he would do about keeping the A's in Oakland. He stated, and I'm paraphrasing since I didn't bring a recorder to transcribe...

Keeping the A's in Oakland is an important asset to the community. It is one of the last professional sports available and affordable to the whole family. It won't be officially announced for a couple of weeks but we are in the process of extending our contract with the A's for another three to five years so we can work out a solution.
