OT: Haters in So Cal

Hey guys. I was just looking up the Golden State Warriors on google news and I came across this article: http://www.newuniversity.org/checkDB.php?id=6685

Anyways, it lists reasons why SoCal sports are much better than Nor Cal, but thats not what upsets me. The author of the article goes on to state how much of a better place SoCal is then NorCal. Here is a little taste:

No one can argue that the weather is phenomenal in So Cal. Who doesn't enjoy sun and warmth year around? The lack of precipitation allows us to do so much more. In Nor Cal, it is always gloomy and rainy. The weather there only reflects the depressing status of the place. No one can say that they would rather have more variety in their weather than have perfect weather year-round.

The article is just completely inaccurate and bases none of its statements on facts. I'm contacting this author on his piece right now. If you also want to send him an email here is the address of his department: newusports@gmail.com

With the proposed trade of Jason Kidd going to Dallas, I have a question to all of you. Do you think we should trade this year, and will we? Also, if we don't trade can we still compete with the elite teams of the west? I'm an optimist when it comes to Warriors basketball, but this Jason Kidd trade really makes me wonder if we could get out of the first round of the playoffs again this year. I'm really curious to see what you all think.

We're fine the way we are. We might not win it all this year, but we have a bright future ahead of us

40 votes

OFF TOPIC: Stupid ESPN article

So I was just on the ESPN homepage and I came across this article http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/hunting/news/story?id=3150157
Its about a 5 year old boy who went out with his grandfather hunting and killed a 400 pound bear. My question is, why the hell is this on the ESPN homepage. Who cares about some 5 year old shooting a bear. Why is a 5 year old hunting in the first place? I just think its absolutely ridiculous.

I am extremely confident

I know the Warriors are off to an 0-4 start. I know they've played some crappy games and lost a couple that they really should have won (Clippers, Cavaliers). However, I am really confident about this team. I just think the Warriors have so many offensive weapons, and I think they'll get their team defense together. I actually think they're a much better team this year. I mean Al has gotten much better. Azubuike is stepping up. I think Ellis is going to be a better scorer this year. I mean think about why the Warriors haven't won yet this year. Their team defense hasn't been there, they're getting handled in the paint, and Baron Davis has been making some bad decisions. However, with time I think their team defense will step up, they'll still get outrebounded, but I think they'll improve there, and I think Davis will start making better decisions with the ball. I don't even expect them to win on Thursday, but I think they'll be alright. I would still love a solid big man, but I believe this team is too explosive offensively to not put it together soon. Does anyone else share this feeling of confidence?

Why are so many people getting so angry over these 2 games. You guys need to settle down. It's been only two games and those two games have been without our second best player in my opinion. What propelled us on that 16-5 run at the end of last season? It was the trade that brought us Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington. Stephen Jackson being the best player out of that deal. Look at the positives guys. How good has Kelenna Azubuike looked. 33 points on 12 for 17 shooting is pretty damn good. Everyone wanted an answer to how we would replace J-rich and Kelenna Azubuike is looking like a pretty good player to match and even exceed his production. Belinelli has also looked impressive. I know he had that 37 point summer league game but I thought he was way overrated. I still think he's overrated, but he's proven that he can do more than just shoot 3's. Yeah, Don Nelson's been making some dumb decisions, but he's learning about this team as we are. I mean, he can see whats going on in practice, but he's not going to learn about all these new players until they're put into real game situations. You've got to give this team and Don Nelson some time. However, you've got to realize this team isn't an elite NBA team. I think the expectations for this team are ridiculous after last seasons playoff run. Lets just see how everyone reacts after they lose tonight to the Jazz.
