Free Birthday Tickets - already been posted??
Hey all - not sure if somebody else has already posted about this or if it was common knowledge (I don't spend a whole lot of time on the O's website - get most of my info elsewhere). A buddy of mine sent this to me at work today so I figured I would share with the group.
Seems pretty awesome to me. For the folks who have families you can get one ticket per kid, wife, mistress (maybe??), etc.

Wigginton deal may have hit a snag...
From ESPN's rumor central:
Wigginton deal with Orioles may be on hold
Ty Wigginton | Orioles | Interested: Orioles? The Orioles are bringing free agent infielder Ty Wigginton back for further examination this week, which probably means that they want to take a second look at something that turned up on his physical Thursday, the Baltimore Sun reported. It was believed that his two-year contract, widely reported last week as a two-year deal worth $6 million, would become official on Friday.

Uhhh...is this for real???
Did anybody else see this? Is this a real story?? A buddy of mine sent it to me at work and at first I thought it was a fake link/story, but it seems to be a real story as far as I can tell. I honestly don't even know how to react to this or what to say at all. Anybody else have any thoughts? Has anybody heard any rumors about this before??

Addition to the front office.
BALTIMORE -- Longtime front office executive Wayne Krivsky joined the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday as special assistant to the president of baseball operations.
Krivsky, a former vice president and general manger for the Cincinnati Reds, will work under club president Andy MacPhail. His responsibilities will include scouting, contracts and other baseball administration duties.
The 54-year-old Krivsky previously served for nearly 27 seasons as an assistant or special assistant to general managers with Texas, Minnesota and the Mets. He spent the 2008 season as special assistant to Mets GM Omar Minaya.

ESPN's - "Orioles could be busy"
Take it for what it's worth:
Monday, November 3Orioles could be busy
The Baltimore Orioles begin what should be an active offseason today at the GM meetings. According to the Baltimore Sun, the team is looking to deal both catcher Ramon Hernandez and pitcher Daniel Cabrera, all while trying to add a shortstop and some pitching. With that need for pitching, the Orioles will likely get involved in the bidding for free-agent arms A.J. Burnett, Paul Byrd and Jon Garland.
They could also get involved in the Mark Teixeira sweepstakes.
"We'll have a couple of those meetings [with agents]," team president Andy MacPhail told the newspaper, declining to discuss specific free agents. "We'll let them know that we'll be interested once the period expires when you can talk terms.
"I think I've been pretty clear that we don't look at free agency as a panacea. We're not going to be able to buy our way out. We need to increase our foundation of talent."
Among the possible shortstops the Orioles may target are San Diego's Khalil Greene, Milwaukee's J.J. Hardy and Pittsburgh's Jack Wilson.

Matusz Dominating in AFL
Matusz Dominant in Arizona Fall League
"Meanwhile, Matusz struck out eight in four innings in his last outing, thanks to two plus breaking pitches: his "knockout" curveball in the 75-79 mph range, and a mid-80s slider with good, late tilt. The lefty is also working consistently at 91-92 mph, touching 93 and mixing in a solid mid-80s circle change to any batter who is sitting on a breaking ball.
Matusz was the fourth overall pick this June, and considering he's making his professional debut here at the Arizona Fall League, the results are even more impressive.
So where does Matusz begin the season next year? Last year, O's pitcher Jake Arrieta made his pro debut at the AFL and didn't allow an earned run, then spent the whole season at high Class A despite pitching well. However, Matusz has a more advanced feel for pitching and better overall command than Arrieta, and it wouldn't be a stretch to see Matusz start right at Double-A and advance quickly through the minors. He's a very polished pitcher right now, and he looks like he'll eventually be a No. 2 starter in the big leagues."
