Is it the joy of watching humans perform noble feats of athletic prowess or is it the bone deep satisfaction of revelling in the defeat and humiliation of 'the other' ? Considering the nationalism inherent in soccer and the general nastiness of fans worldwide I'd say it's more of the latter. I'd be interested to hear some opinions since I've long wondered about the emotional intensity displayed by myself and others that no logical reasoning can explain. For me the joy in knowing there are millions of obnoxious Yankees or Red Sox fans whining and miserable after a defeat weighs about the same as the vicarious satisfaction I get from a job well done by the O's.
Seriously sick of the players
making the Orioles look bad. Waxing nostalgic I can remember the O's being the classiest organization in baseball. Fundamentals and respect were their mantra. The Robbie Alomar incident was an anomaly at the time, but it looks like it was just the beginning of the freefall for the team legacy. Palmiero. Tejadas, and now Pie and Scott. Maybe I can come up with a 'Moron Claus' to include in every contract and a certifiable test to weed them out?! Long live Brooks and Boog and Frank and Cal.....I know there are classy players there now but it will be totally overlooked now that Luke has made the team a laughingstock again...
