I don't know how credible this web site is. But they stated that the Blazers have offered Travis to the Memphis Griz. for a point guard. I don't see it happening, but you never know. This is a link that someone else already posted on O-Live. Would you want Mike Connely Jr.? Kyle Lowery? Seems like a lot to give up for one of these guys.

Celtics are my new enemy. How long will he last there before he's cut, or do you think that he'll actually contribute? There goes our big cap space. Can't believe this.

I have never been able to afford to see many games, and I never attended a playoff game. I have a lot of favorite games on T.V. I have seen a few in the Memorial C., and the Rose Garden (Is that going to be renamed still?). I have seen the Lakers beaten a few times, and each time was sweet. I saw Sabonis go at it with Yao when he was a rookie (seeing Sabas block him a few times was great). But I would have to say that my favorite game I saw in person was a few years back when we were playing the "almost in the finals" Kings. The Garden was FULL of annoying Kings fans that kept ringing these stupid cow bells everytime Bibby, the Rick Fox sucker puncer (that was okay with me!), Peja, C-Web, or Brad Miller did anything. The home crowd was getting pretty annoyed too and became overly rambunctious when the Blazers scored. The building just got louder and louder with each block from Ratlif (I think he had 8 or 9 blocks). He knocked Miller on his butt several times, and smacked a C-Web layup right to the ground. He had people pump faking lay ups because he just kept coming out of no where. We ended up winning, and it was the most exciting game I went to.

What was yours?

I thought it would be fun to see where some of our past Blazers are now. I'll get the ball rolling. (I'm NOT trying to be Canzono here) Here is an old friend J.R. Rider. Thank you Wikipedia!

In January 2006, Rider was arrested on kidnapping charges in Marin City, California for taking a female friend in his car against her will.[3] He was charged with domestic violence and ordered to stay out of Marin City. Despite this court order, he was spotted in the area a few weeks later. A Marin County sheriff's deputy confronted him, and while fleeing, Rider hit another car. He was arrested in Alameda County in late 2006, and transferred to the Marin County jail after three judges in that county issued bench warrants against him. In February 2007, Rider pleaded guilty to several charges, including felony cocaine possession and evading an officer. He was sentenced to seven months in jail, 120 hours community service and three years' probation. He will also have to complete a drug education program. At sentencing, Rider admitted to a longstanding problem with marijuana; he'd also begun lacing it with cocaine. [4]

On January 6, 2008, Rider was again arrested, this time in Berkeley, California after a confrontation between a taxi driver and a passenger resulted in the police being called. Rider was found to be the passenger. Subsequently, Rider was arrested on a no-bail warrant for unlawful firearm possession and separate $5,000 warrant for grand theft issued by the Oakland Police Department. [5]

On March 5, 2008 Isaiah was arrested and was held in the Marin County Jail in San Rafael, California. He was charged and pled guilty for possession of a controlled narcotic substance, disobeying a court order, evading a peace officer, providing false information to a peace officer, and driving on a suspended license.

On early Saturday morning, March 29, 2008, Rider was arrested in the Skid Row district of Los Angeles for investigation of auto theft and was released from Los Angeles County jail in the afternoon. He was scheduled to appear in court on April 23, 2008. [6]

Playoffs '09-future (I think we'll be O.K.)

I was thinking about the future of our team and the playoffs. I think we will do okay. We did much better vs. up and coming teams then we did vs. the decliners. Here is the data.

DECLINERS

SanAntonio: L 97-106, L 79-100, L 65-72. 0%

Houston: L 80-89, L 79-89, L 86-95. 0%

Dallas: L 80-90, W 91-82, L 76-96, W 108-105. 50%

Denver: L 93-110, W 116-105, W 99-96, L 103-105 (OT). 50%

Phoenix: L 92-97, 98-111, 91-100. 0%

We have had some problems with veteran playoff teams. Signs of a young team. We will be a year wiser next year.

Up-And-Coming Teams

Utah: W 97-89, W 99-91, L 101-111, W 103-89 . 75%

Hornets: L 93-113, W 93-90, W 88-76, L 81-96. 50%

L*kers: L 83-96, W 119-111, L 112-103, W 112-103. 50%

Golden State: W 105-95, W 109-91, L 104-110, L 95-111. 50%

We have not lost the regular season series (this year) to any of these up and comers (who we will be battling in the future.)

We are a young team, and some of these wins were in that amazing stretch, and I realize that the playoffs are a whole different story. However, we will be better next year (LMA & Roy will be in season three & a lot of guys have their "real" breakout season at year three). We will have Oden and Godzilla in the middle swatting layups like flies. And who knows how Rudy will pan out, or if we get an upgrade at the PG. The future looks good my friends. Real good!

OT: More Karl Malone

Old news, but new article (via Mr. Abbot @ Trruehoop). Hre's the money quote.

It would be one thing if Malone was unable to financially provide for his son, but he made more than $100 million during his NBA career. The Salt Lake (Utah) Tribune reported that when Bell's grandparents initially took Malone to court for paternity in 1986, his second year with the Jazz, they requested Malone pay $200 a week. Malone didn't respond to the suit, but a Louisiana judge ruled he was Bell's father -- after a paternity test showed that was indeed accurate -- and ordered Malone to pay $125 a week, plus past and future medical expenses. Malone claimed that was too much and later reached a confidential out-of-court settlement with Bell's family between 1988 and 1989.

I can't believe this. I guess that his team wasn't really going anywhere soon, but to bail on them? With the announcement so soon after being eliminated, it makes me wonder if this was on his mind since the playoffs began. He was a great coach, and I see the Suns not being such a power next year.

I can't remember if I read this link from someone in here, or another site. If it was h
ere, my apologies. It is an eye opening article about the train wreck that N.Y. is. They make the Blazers from the 90's that East coasters like to rip on look pretty tame. No wonder Frye was so elated to be here after living through that organization. I didn't realize Zeke was such a slime ball.
