Behind the Steel Curtain Charlie Weis in the Black and Gold

It's definitely food for thought. As we are all probably aware, he is the current, and soon to be former,  Notre Dame  head coach. He started out in the College ranks and then landed a job with the Giants as a offensive assistant and a special teams assistant.  He was with the Patriots from 93-96 as tight ends coach, coaching Ben Coates who set a record for T.E.'s with 96 catches; the next year he was a running backs coach developing Curtis Martin, and in '96 he was the recievers coach with Terry Glenn. He was the Jets OC from '97-'99, and the Patriots OC from '00-'04, before returning to his roots in Notre-Dame. Many of us are well aware of how effective his play calling was while with the Patriots (spygate? who knows).

Collinsworth and the rest of the gang on NBC's Football Night in America were discussing possible landing sights for Mr. Weis, and I couldn't help but daydream about the possible senario. With our current OC most likely in his last year on the Steelers sideline, I think it is definitely worth a look from our front office. He would surely be an upgrade for us, and hopefully with our talents on offense, one of the best OC's in the game.
