Blazer's Edge Charles Barkley was right

He always says that jump shooting teams will never win a championship and I agree with him.  Tonight's game is the perfect example of how we are a jump shooting team.  There is no interior defense for the Spurs in this game and yet we still just jack up outside shot after outside shot.  I dont know the exact numbers on it, but it seemed like Lamarcus didn't touch the ball hardly at all down low after the first quarter.  They would bring a double on Lamarcus and he would pass out of it like he should but they would swing the ball to an open shooter.  It's fine to swing to a guy who is spotting up for three but if people aren't making that then drive to the hoop.

Nobody besides B-Roy would attack the hoop and it doesn't work if it's just one guy because they collapse on him and when the team isn't hitting outside shots and refusing to attack the hoop, then the game is lost.  One play after Rudy missed his 4th or 5th three pointer he finally attacked the hoop and he made it.  I thought that one play would make the light bulb go off in their heads but I was wrong.  I think Nate made a big mistake not putting Bayless into the game because he definitely would've attacked the hoop, not to mention maybe would've made Parker work for his shots a little bit more but that's a whole other topic of discussion.  I know our "window" is supposed to be 3 years from now, ok, hopefully in the time until then they will take lessons from the championship teams and realize that everyone standing around and spotting up doesn't always cut it.  Totally frustrated as you possibly could tell after the game because this was the perfect chance to steal one with no Manu and Duncan.  Hopefully Greg comes back against the T'Wolves and helps out.

Go Blazers

Building The Dam Coaches of the Year

I don't know if anyone has realized it yet, but Oregon State will have both won the Coach of the Year award for both Football AND Basketball.  The win against Cal I believe all but summed it up for Coach Craig Robinson.  What he has done for our basketball team is nothing short of miraculous.  There is no one in the country who could've realistically predicted this kind of success.  He hasn't just done the amazing thing of getting this team to win but he's also done the very smart thing of actually reaching out to the well known alumni of OSU unlike the previous coach who told them to stay away.  Now if we could only get Gary Payton to come and enjoy a game....Go Beavs

Blazer's Edge For all the Bosh lovers

I just read an article out of the Contra Costa Times saying that the Warriors are making a big for not just Amare but for Chris Bosh also.  The article talks about how it isn't known if they were just talks or if there was an actual offer made.  Basically it sounds like the only way that Toronto will move Bosh is if they are convinced they can't resign him when his contract is up.  Here's the link...knock yourselves out

Blazer's Edge Everyone everywhere thinks PDX wants Amare

It seems like every nba article that has to deal with the upcoming trade deadline there is mention of teams that are in the mix for Amare and every single one of them says that either Steve Kerr has his eyes set on Lamarcus or it says that teams like the Blazers, Nets, Bulls, Heat, etc are the frontrunners in the deal and are making the biggest push to get Amare.  I check the site hoopshype almost daily because they do a great job of scouring all written sources and posting it in one list.  They've usually always got something about Portland in there and lately all these articles everywhere written by guys who have their own "league sources" seems very convinced that Portland is one of the teams not just listening to offers but actually making a push for Amare.  I just wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this and to get thoughts, feelings, etc.

when is this guy going to get fired? I can't stand listening to him or looking at his face. He's so lame and needs to just move on and go some place else. I know I can't be the only one who can't stand the guy.

This is a great video for not just us blazer fans but all NBA fans outside of Boston. It shows the highlights or should I say low-lights of the jerk that is Kevin Garnett.

Blazer's Edge I don't know if it is just me

but I really love having Outlaw start at the 3.  He brings so much to the table like his scoring ability and rebounding ability.  It's something that I hope Nate stays with because it's something that I love to see.

Blazer's Edge Don't know why but......

Is it Nate? Is it Nate's system? Or is Jarrett Jack slowly transforming into a head case that is not helping the team one bit with his poor PG play?
