"The Grizzlies also have been offering point guard Mike Conley to several teams, including Portland, for expiring contracts, sources say. "

Portland is still involved in trade talks, looking for another option. Sources said they have had an ongoing dialogue with Philadelphia who has yet to tip their hand on Andre Iguodala. Portland seems open to taking on the contract dollars, but with Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw off the table to the LA Clippers, Portland might have to dip into their depth and seem open to the idea for the right 'upgrade' in talent.

Blazer's Edge Trade Drawer 1/20

Here is a Trade with Phili that makes a lot of sense (posted over @ sportstwo also)

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMa...radeId=yhmv8pm

Basically, Outlaw, Blake and Pryz for Dalembert

Why it works for the Blazers:

- Clears up the backcourt
- Would want travis to not be resigned anyways
- Gives you a legit starting center that is just as good or better than pryz (and 2 years younger)
- 3 for 1 trade that is desperatly needed

Why it works for the 76ers

- Get two expiring contracts
- This season is over for them so a Pryz for Dalembert swap is a wash for them next year

Now this trade might be too much to give from portlands side, but try to be objective here

Benefits to rotation

Backcourt - Roy, Miller, Rudy, Bayless - Increases Rudy's and Bayless' minutes

SF - Completly makes the small forward position half webster half Batum plus webster can slide over to SG sometime

PF - LMA and Howard, Howard goes back to his natural position and plays less minutes but continues to flourish, Cunningham for spot duty

C - Dalembert and Pendy. Starting NBA center and a nice backup. Could slide LMA and Howard to Center at times.

With this trade i think the Blazers finish top4 and make it out of the first round.

Blazer's Edge Trade Drawer - July 22 *The Big One*!!!

So, i know many of you are not super thrilled about seeing Andre Miller in a Blazer Uni, but let me assure you, there is really nothing to lose if your the Blazers here. Milelr came into the summer looking for a 3yr -30 mil dollar deal, and we all know that wasnt going to happen. So he saw the market fall for PG's like Bibby and Kidd and saw the lack of interest from teams and now would be happy for something over the mid-level for a couple of years. I will spell out how I think the Blazers should procede with the situation and what happens after we get Miller...

The New York Post is reporting that the Knicks are planning on offering Bucks restricted free agent PG Ramon Sessions a four-year contract worth 26.5 million. This news is according to Sessions’ agent Chubby Wells, not the same Chubby Wells who is famous for pitching a perfect game at Yankee Stadium with a hangover.

Dont think there is any way KP matches this one....:sigh:

So i was wondering why everyone had been shooting down the boozer rumors. Dont know how reputable this source is but i think its believeable.

"Speculation is that the trailblazers have been letting out false leaks in order to take pressure off them after losing turkoglu, and that the trailblazers were responsible for falsifying the carlos boozer rumor and leaking it to the media"

as well as looks like JQuicl was not lying last night...sigh

"Bob Myers, the agent for Blazers guard Brandon Roy, has been tight-lipped throughout negotiations for Roy's contract extension, but on Thursday, Myers said "we are frustrated a deal has not been reached." Roy is asking for a maximum contract in both years (five) and money (estimated $82 million). However, the Blazers have been willing to only grant a four-year contract. The Blazers have until Oct. 31 to sign Roy, and Aldridge, to extensions. If they don't reach agreements, the players can become restricted free agents next summer. "

Casey Holdahl "In Charlotte. Maybe someone of interest on the flight to Portland ..."

What could this be??

Felton???

Looks like he will be available for less than expected, but the Blazers are supposedly not enamored.

"A source close to the negotiations between the Sixers and their former starting point guard said, "The phone is not ringing." They went on to insinuate that Portland, which is believed to be Miller’s last suitor, actually sees him as too old, a non three-point shooter and too slow on defense. "

Looks like Detroit will be going after Hedo

almost 3 years ago Large_batum-two_tiny OSUBlazerfan 22 comments

A source close to the Blazers braintrust has informed TKB that the Blazers seem to have an off season plan in place and that they are desperately trying to move Martell Webster, Sergio Rodriguez and Travis Outlaw so they can make a play for Orlando’s Hedo Turkoglu. As we’ve reported, Andre Miller is also a target with Jason Kidd’s name popping up as well should Miller remain in Philly.

With an estimated Salary Cap of $57 Million for the upcoming 2009-10 season, you would figure that both Miller and Turkoglu would demand a combined $20 million (roughly) so the Blazers could make it work if they can dump a few salaries.
