I am a fan of the Oakland Athletics, the Oakland Raiders, and the Golden State Warriors. I was born in Oakland, and I lived there for 8 years before moving to Minnesota. Someday I hope to go back. So keep the A's and Raiders in Oakland

Oakland wants business
The Oakland chamber has shown incompetence once again. Read this:
It is my understanding that Major League Baseball (MLB) has appointed a three-person committee to evaluate the options for the development of a new, world-class ballpark for the Oakland Athletics. As part of the MLB analysis, I understand that the appointed, three-member MLB committee will review the level of support in the business community for the Oakland A's, including specific interest in luxury suites, season tickets, and other forms of corporate support.
As a member of the business community that operates within the A's territory, I am pleased to inform MLB that should the A's succeed in moving forward on a new, state-of-the-art, transit-friendly ballpark within its currently defined MLB territory, [INSERT BUSINESS NAME HERE] would be interested in supporting the A's, including pursuing the rights to a luxury suite and/or a package of season tickets subject to a more formal evaluation based on ticket price and availability.

Over at V-Smoothes "A better Oakland, he said Oakland only partisans are going to out some crazy spin on this. I have a feeling that this means Oakland is desperate. In simple words, MLB says that the city the A's currently play in doesn't have enough corporate support and Oakland is looking for it. This will surely impact MLB's decision on where the A's play. So, do the businesses say yes? Probably not, because they haven't for the past forty years. Now this, couple with San Jose's find, should persuade MLB to build in San Jose. However, I don't think they will. For the past few years, it seems like MLB is viewing S.J. as a suburb of San Francisco, not a city of 1,000,000 people and great corporate support. The fate of baseball in San Jose has not been determined yet, however. I believe MLb will determine what San Jose is first, suburb or Corporate city of 1,000,000. If the former happens, the A's will likely leave the Bay Area, or stay in Oakland. If the ladder happens, the t-rights will come to a vote, and the fate of SJ baseball will be decided.

Don't sign Michael Vick
Now that Michael Vick has been reinstated to the NFL, there are rumors that the Raiders could sign Vick. However, I have a piece of advice: don't sign him, Al. Who cares that he was arrested. That doesn't matter. What does matter is that he's been in jail. Not because he was arrested, but, when he was in his prime, he relied on speed and athleticism. Now, that he's been sitting in a jail cell for two years, he's probably lost his athleticism. Finally, we're pretty stocked on quarterbacks. Adding a third would just add money to our expenses. So, the Silver and Black should not sign Michael Vick.

If Wallace doesn't lose weight, move him to DH.
Brett Wallace may be a fine third baseman some day. In fact, that's why we traded Holliday to the Cards. However, he needs to lose a few pounds. But what if he doesn't lose weight? Well, if he keeps his shape, then he has the body build of a DH. Big, muscley. That's why i'm proposing that IF Brett Wallace doesn't lose weight the A's should seriously consider moving him to DH. How would this pan out. Well, Wallace won't be quick in his current shape, so he wouldn't fit the bill as a third baseman. However, that doesn't mean he couldn't add home runs to our lineup or knock in more runs. However, we need guys who can get on base for the latter to happen. So how 'bout it? Of course, we'll need another person to play third, but someone can take over.

Have Chavez be a third base coach, fieldingwise.
Eric Chavez is likely done at third. In fact, he is done. That doesn't mean we can't bring him back as a third base coach. And I don't mean runningwise. I mean fieldingwise. We will probably call up a prospect to play third. This prospect will likely need some training at the big league level. And why not have a gold glove third baseman teach him? I mean, Eric Chavez has been a major part of our organization. Remember, he won six gold gloves, and he's the only guy left from the 1990's (beside's Giambi, but Giambi left for New York in the 2001-2002 offseason. And if Brett Wallace plays third, he'll need some help. Just like Rickey might come back, the sqame could happen with Chavez. By the way, I'm sorry if this is a stupid idea. I'll admit, I've come up with alot of stupid ideas.

Blue Jays stadium
Hi everybody, i'm normally on AN but I just came over here to ask, does anyone know if Skydome is going to get renovations soon, or are the Blue Jays going to get a new stadium? Don't get me wrong, I like your stadium, I was just wondering. The only thing I see wrong with it is the fact that it gets so hot when they close the roof. And the artificial turf.

Holliday to the Astros for Tejada?
If we traded Matt Holliday, we could trade him to Houston, then get Miguel Tejada back. He's not what he used to be, but he could still get the job done for us. This would eliminate a huge hole at shortstop. Plus, Tejada doesn't get injured very often. I'm sure the Astros could use a big hitter. And while many of you might think we should trade for prospects, we have some pretty good one's already. Miguel Tejada would be our shortstop until Carter or Cardenas comes up, then he would be a backup. To fill in for Matt Holliday, we would call up Travis Buck for the rest of the season and if he plays every day, we can see whether he is more consistent than being sent down every day.

Crosby to Yankees for cash?
I was thinking "Why not trade Bobby Crosby to the Yankees for cash?" After all, you would be getting some of your money back for the four non-productive years he's had, and you'd be eliminating a huge hole. The Yankees might take it because they might figure that He'd fit in well with the stadium, and he wants to leave Oakland. Yes, I know the article is from March.

What to do in 2010 so we can be contenders
I've been thinking about what to do so we can contend in 2010, since we probably won't succeed this year. Here is what we should do
1. Fire Bob Geren. He overworked the bullpen. Terminate his contract and hire another manager. Jump at the opportunity if Joe Girardi is available. In later years, maybe we could even get Ron Washington back.
2. Get a big bat. Bobby Abreu, anyone? To get him, we would hold onto Holliday until the end of the season and use him as trade bait. If Jason Kubel's contract expires and he's released, we could pick up him. He even said the hitters background at the Coliseum is good.
3. Move Brett Anderson to the bullpen. It seems like he gets tired around the third, fourth, and fifth innings. He could move to setup or long relief.
4. Trade Nomar, Giambi and O-Cab for better hitters. Maybe Nick Swisher could come back. Also, give up on Eric Chavez. He's basically done. If he plays next year, he'll get injured.
During the season:
1. Don't overwork the bullpen. We need our bullpen rested in case one of our starters gets tired.
2. Change Jack Custs approach to hitting. Of course, we could do that this year. Then Jack wouldn't be hitting the ball weakly.
3. Work the players like we did in 2002 and 2003. Back then, we were known for being healthy
