After the horrendous start last nite by our staff ace, I thought everybody else could do better. But looking around the league on the second day of baseball, many pitchers are getting hit hard on their first day. I just thought these box scores might alleviate the worries.

Here's Zito's score last nite
1.1 IP, 4H, 7R/7ER, 4W, 3K, 1HR

Check these out from todays games:

Freddy Garcia got lit up by the Indians
4IP, 9H, 7R/7ER, 2W, 2K, 1HR

Johan even had a mortal, pedestrian day against Toronto
5.2IP, 10H, 4R/4ER, 1W, 3K, 1HR

Ol' Wakefield's knuckler was not working to well in Texas
3.2 IP, 7H, 7R/7ER, 3W, 3K, 1HR

Andy Petitte got murdered by a bunch of rookie Marlins
4.2IP, 13H, 10R/7ER, 1BB, 3K, 3HR

So these should show that the first day is not always the best even for veteran pitchers. Keep your chins up AN!

LET'S GO OAKLAND!
