There have been a handful of familiar names leaked as potential candidates for the Blazers vacant GM position, with Terry Porter, Rick Adelman, Randy Pfund and Geoff Petrie all emerging in speculation.

One more name wants to make that list.

Portland native and former NBA All-Star, Terrell Brandon, would like some consideration from Allen and the Blazers organization.

"I'm definitely interested in the GM position with the Blazers," Brandon told PBN. "I may not have the experience in management at that capacity, but knowing the game and being a point guard for many years in the league, I pretty much have ran a franchise before."

Although Brandon has never held an NBA front office position, he already possesses a wealth of management experience. Brandon has been running his barbershop "Terrell Brandon's Barbershop" for over 20 years, he's in real estate, and is CEO of his company, "T.B. Enterprises," which specializes in promoting shows and concerts.

"All the management skills I've had personally with these enterprises, the corporate offices, and the real estate that I'm involved in, I feel like I'm definitely ready to take on that next level," said Brandon.

"Rockets' Yao Ming has decided to retire from the NBA, league sources tell Y! Sports. He informed the league office within past 48 hours."

While some businesses are betting on the Miami Heat to run rough shot on the NBA in a figurative sense, a Hollywood bar has taken the challenge literally and lost big Tuesday night.

Whiskey Tango All American Bar & Grill lost $4,100 after it had to cover the bar tabs of customers who signed up for the Three King challenge. The Hollywood pub vowed to pay anyone's bar tab up to $25 if the Heat lost.

So when the Heat lost, customers actually won.

But the 88-80 defeat at the hands of the Boston Celtics won't stop the Heat or the bar owner, who says despite the hefty tab, he plans on extending the challenge for the entire season. That;'s 81 more games worth of drinks.

The Heat can't lose them all, at least the bar hopes not or else employees will be drowning their sorrows in alcohol.

Ran across the video of Shaq running the point at an all-star game. Hadn't seen it before and made me laugh. Figured I'll post it. Maybe that's why the Celtic's signed him. In case Rondo goes down they can use "Magic O'Neal".

Why has this not been posted?! Lord Favre commands the sports world, haha. I wonder if LeBron is jealous as Favre has taken over 3 ESPN channels for the entire day so far and hasn't even spoke yet.

Anyways, seeing as he's my favorite sports star (above Jordan) and assuming he does retire then all I have to say is:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

He's the reason I still watch football.

Wanted to say that Kevin Pritchard will be on the show Leverage, Sunday (August 1st) at 9 P.M.. He plays a car salesman. They shot the episode back in April (IIRC) in Portland.

I attached the video preview. Kevin's seen in it around the 50 second mark. I have no clue though how much air time he has though in the entire episode.

I'll post the ESPN link when it happens. But they've confirmed it on the ticker.

Update: Put up the Yahoo Sports link.

Cavalier fans wasted no time burning a LeBron jersey. Apparently they were cheering as it happened.

This all looks similar to what happened before with someone else --

Forward Travis Outlaw has agreed to a five-year, $35 million deal with the Nets, his agent, Bill Duffy, told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher.

The 25-year-old Outlaw averaged 8.7 points and 3.6 rebounds in 23 games for the Los Angeles Clippers after being acquired as part of a trade that sent Marcus Camby to the Portland Trail Blazers. In 11 games for Portland last season, Outlaw averaged 9.9 points and 3.5 rebounds.

Drafted in the first round by Portland in 2003, Outlaw has averaged 9.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in seven NBA seasons.

"Today's sports daily Marca reports that Rudy Fernandez has given the 'yes' to Real Madrid if he can opt out of the Portland Trail Blazers. The player wants to be the cornerstone of the new draft white basketball.

In a report signed by Eduardo Schell and Jose Luis Martinez, MARK details how the romance between the Spaniard and the club Real Madrid is mutual, because whites are willing to pull the house down with an offer of 2.3 million euros season."

Blazer's Edge Who to blame for the poor start

Who are you blaming for the luckluster start to the season?

Personally, I'm thinking Nate McMillan until something can change my mind. We don't feel commited to a point guard (Miller or Blake), he pulls Oden after a tic tac foul despite him playing well, and our rotation as a whole feels like a mess. It feels like day one of the rebuilding phase right now as no one is clicking with each other.

Picture of an Oden dunk at the scrimmage (10/4).... I took the picture as soon as the ball got tossed up in the air, and lucky the camera decided to go off right when he dunked the ball. I only wish the focus would of been great, but I'll take what I can get.
