MLB 09 The Show

This doesnt actually relate to the Mets, other than me being a Mets fan.

However being that MLB 08 The Show was what brought me back to baseball I thought I'd write about 09.

Has anyone played this amazing game? Do you think its the best representation of baseball in game form yet?

What do you think of Citi Field(In game)?

What about the Mets players ratings?

I'll be happy to discuss any aspect of it with my fellow AA'ers or enlighten those who havnt yet played it.

My opinions on the Mets Offseason

Hi,

This is my first post on here, I'm a Mets Fan from Sheffield, England.

With that being said here are my views on what the Mets should do this offseason:

1. If the rumours are true and the Rockies will trade Huston Street for Aaron Heilman & Pedro Feliciano then I would grab that trade so fast that the Rockies GM's arm would still be attatched(I would use Street as the set-up man)

2. Sign Kerry Wood 2 years $18 mil(With a $10 mil option for a 3rd year), my reasons being Wood costs us no draft picks, is cheaper and I am confident that now he isn't starting his injury woes are behind him, also I am confident Street could fill in at closer should Wood get injured.

3. Sign either Bobby Abreu OR Adam Dunn I think there are pros for each of them that far outweigh the cons and both can be had for good value in this current economic climate my terms would be

*Abreu 3 years $39 mil

*Dunn 4 years $48 mil

Although either is a good fit I would have to pick Dunn as my favourite because of:Age, Power, OBP and that he can move to 1b next year when Delgado is gone.

Either sign or trade for a SP who can pitch 200+ innings I personally would've liked Vazquez(Because his salaries a lot cheaper than the free agent options, it was only for 2 years, hes a proven inning eater and he could have been had for nothing basically)but hes a Brave now so thats that idea gone.

Out of the options availible I would probably(Don't laugh)go for Randy Johnson on a 1 year contract at $7 mil, the way I see it its a lot better than having to guarantee 5 years to either Burnett or Lowe.

If we have to go the free agent route I'd go for Ben Sheets at 2 years $26 mil with a 3rd year option for $14 mil,his injury problems seem isolated as appose to Burnetts.

Failing that I would look to trade Luis Castillo for an out of favour pitcher on a bad contract...maybe Dontrelle Willis??? Any ideas?

My last idea (Assuming all the rest go ahead)is pretty far fetched payroll wise but I'd like to get Orlando Hudson who has made clear his wanting to play for the Mets so I'd take advantage of this to the tune of 4 years $36 mil.

Players I hope the Mets stay clear of:

Derek Lowe: Not that I have a problem with Derek Lowe(Assuming he stays in the NL) its just I'd have a problem paying him over $14 mil a year and more than 3 years.

AJ Burnett: Injury prone, good years come in contract years and he too wants a 5 year contract which he won't be healthy for.

Manny Ramirez:Do I really need to explain this.

What do you think?
