I was born and raised in the Bay Area, and have lived either in the Bay Area or the Sac area my entire life (my family first arrived in the Bay Area in 1858). My earliest memories of the 49ers are of a team coached by Frankie Albert and QB'd by Y.A. Tittle, with Bob St. Clair, Leo Nomellini, Matt Hazeltine, Billy Wilson, Gordy Soltau, Hugh McElhenny, Joe Perry, et al, circa 1956. The Giants were still in New York, the A's in KC, the Warriors in Philly, the Sac Kings were still the Rochester/Cincinnati Royals, neither the Raiders nor the Sharks had been created yet...
