Via Baseball Toaster, I just read this quick article
http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-simers28apr28,1,1248649.column
from the LA Times.

Apparently T.J. Simers has finally worked out a way to get Vin Scully and Coach to speak together,to benefit the Mattel Children's Hospital.

Apparently the two are going to speak at the Nokia Theater, for charity, and it should be a really cool discussion. According to Simers it'll be set up in an "Actors Studio" type setting, and should be a memorable experience for all who attend and listen to the two speak. These two figures will undoubtedly be remembered as the face of their athletic team, and I can only imagine the types of stories they'll share with each other. The Dodgers and any UCLA basketball team will always be the two teams closest to my heart, so I'm especially excited about the idea of these two coming together to share their knowledge with the city.

Texas upsets KU...The big picture

Besides the fact that a KU loss helps us in the polls, its certainly just a tad reassuring to see KU lose to a team that handed us one of our three losses. Granted we did lose at home, but surprisingly we've played better on the road this year. With KU going to the wire with SC, losing to Texas, and also getting upset by a lesser in state rival, I think this at least helps to show us bruin fans that there a lot of good teams out there, and that while the loss yesterday to Washington was extremely disappointing, no wins are going to come easy and I'm still confident we're still up there with the elite teams in the country. To my surprise analysts have actually given us a bit of a hall pass on this loss to Washington, when i was expecting the coaches to throw us like 12 spots down in the poll. Who knows maybe we can live in a world with no East Coast bias, and one in which ESPN actually respects the pac 10. Point being, regardless of what anyone says about the loss, we have to play top notch ball from here on out. Definitely a must win this Saturday in the ghetto.

Go Bruins

DC for Cousy.

Darren Collison is definitely starting to show us those flashes of brilliance that he did so many times last year. Now that he has seemingly put all of his injuries behind him, I think we are starting to see the real DC again.

He showed a lot of leadership against Washington State and came up in the clutch when needed most, so here is a link to vote for Darren to win the Cousy for pest point guard in the country.

VOTE EARLY AND VOTE OFTEN.
